Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for sharing your art. I'll contact you by email shortly to get your permission on the record (and to ensure that you are really you— we wouldn't want to inadvertently steal your art, no matter how unlikely). — Coren (talk) 03:20, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

no prob, i'll look for that email. I also plan on showing it in my rant and giving it appropriate attributes there so there should be no question about it once i get that done.  :) --Fredrin (talk) 03:33, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have now also uploaded the large image to Commons, the common file repository, so it can be used in all language versions, and I've added it to the German article. As both a Wikipedian and an MT fan: thank you :) --Tokikake (talk) 09:31, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I also thank you for making your art available in a copyleft format. Welcome to the project! Scartol • Tok 12:54, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Let me be one more to thank you, and I hope you decide to stick around. But don't stick around too much, I need my MT fix too ;) Anomie 01:30, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, i'm glad to stick around, it's something i've wanted to do for a while anyway. It's been a busy couple of weeks, but i haven't forgot about it yet. :P thanks again for all the work you guys put into it. Fredrin (talk) 18:11, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Style

[edit]

Why do most of your characters have the same face? 86.43.177.106 (talk) 18:51, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wha? ResMar 19:26, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because he's a really bad artist, and the comic is terrible. 82.32.49.186 (talk) 19:44, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's unfair to call him that. His backgrounds are quite good for example. However, his character designs are a little uninspired and too similar (though he was influenced by manga, which is rife with unoriginality), though I wonder why he has been happy to leave them like that for so long. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.46.248.160 (talk) 20:58, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So let's see your webcomic. --StaniStani  21:28, 13 March 2009 (UTC)  (I must remember to stop feeding those. --StaniStani  08:23, 15 March 2009 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.46.247.78 (talk) [reply]
Thank you for not only the personal attack (which is against the rules here), but for continiuing to ignore my question 86.46.252.154 (talk) 17:19, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. I must have said "I make webcomics and mine are better than yours". But wait. It doesn't say that. And yet my question goes unanswered, even by fans.21:56, 13 March 2009 (UTC)86.46.248.160 (talk)
actually, I'm happy to answer that question. The fact is, most of my characters do have a tendency to look alike, much of which is the result of not having reliable drawing skills early on to make more clear differentiations between characters. Even now, this is a problem with my style. Much of it has to do with the limited amount of lines that i use to define faces. When you do that, you CAN have clear and solid differences between characters, but it can be harder to control and requires more skill than i usually can apply. This is a problem that i hope to avoid in future projects by better designing characters that have attributes that are easier to differentiate across the length of a comic. Hope that helps. There have been times that the similarities between Piro and Kimiko were a little more than i knew what to do about. It's pretty hard to change a character's design mid-comic, yknow? I'm just learning as i go. Fredrin (talk) 18:16, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProjects

[edit]

Hello! I just want to say the Megatokyo rocks! Saying that, there's something called WikiProjects (exactly what they sound like). You would probably be interested in WP:COMIC and WP:WEBCOMIC. Have fun! Most of the people around here aren't quite so famous :) ResMar 19:08, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i'd be happy to look into it. Give me a chance to get up to date on what is going on with them before i go blundering into anything. :) Fredrin (talk) 18:16, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
