Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Fredciwwaf, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Cute Is What We Aim For, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary, as you did at Cute Is What We Aim For. You already made the same edit three times, and were warned three times. You must explain why the information is false, and saying you were in the band doesn't work, that's a conflict of interest. win8x (talking | spying) 20:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I started this band. Stop putting false information on here that isn't even true. It's pathetic. If you have questions, feel free to ask me or any other ACTUAL founding members of the band (Me, Shaant, Jeff, Tom). You can find all of us on Instagram. There were not any other former members. There were hired musicians who had no ownership of the band. Fredciwwaf (talk) 20:17, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We cannot verify you are actually who you claim to be. If you actually want to change things, learn about Wikipedia's rules (the welcoming message will guide you) and identify your conflict of interest (See WP:COI).
Anyone can claim to be a member of the band and go edit stuff. If we simply accepted that Wikipedia would be a mess.

Okay well go ahead and search Fred Cimato on Instagram, DM me, and then we'll talk there. I'll be happy to send you a pic of my ID, a copy of our record contract, and play you a couple Cute Is What We Aim For songs that only me and 3 other human beings wrote. Fredciwwaf (talk) 20:26, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We are just internet users, read WP:COI for the official process. WP:V also still is in force if you are the subject of something. You might not like it, sometimes I don't, but we cannot simply change the rules of Wikipedia so quickly.

If you are who you say you are then you need to get an interview with a reliable source so we can use that source to change the information here. Gatemansgc (TɅ̊LK) 20:26, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This interview mentions nothing about the members of the group, and why the information we currently have is wrong. I get it, you are a member of the group, but I can also claim this. I can claim to be one of the others, and say the information is right. See how that doesn't work? That's why we have the policies WP:COI and WP:V in place. win8x (talking | spying) 21:48, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
