Dear Wikipedia Administrators,
I am writing to contest the speedy deletion nomination of the page "Matteo Iannacone." I believe that the page meets the standards of Wikipedia’s guidelines for notability and neutrality, similar to other notable scientists' pages that are currently accepted and published.
Neutral Tone and Structure
The article on Matteo Iannacone is written in a neutral, encyclopedic tone, providing a factual account of his education, career, and contributions to the field of immunology and pathology. The structure of the article follows a similar format to those of other respected scientists such as Alberto Mantovani and Antonio Lanzavecchia, which have been well-accepted on Wikipedia.
Notability
Matteo Iannacone is a distinguished figure in the field of immunology, with a significant body of work that has advanced the understanding of immune responses and viral-induced immunopathology. He holds a prominent position as the Director of the Division of Immunology, Transplantation, and Infectious Diseases at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute. His numerous awards, including the Armenise-Harvard Foundation Career Development Award, multiple ERC grants, and the EMBO Young Investigator Award, underscore his impact and recognition in the scientific community.
Citations and References
The article is well-cited with reliable references to peer-reviewed scientific journals and reputable sources. Each key achievement and piece of research is backed by citations to respected publications such as Nature, Science, and Cell. This ensures that the content is verifiable and adheres to Wikipedia's sourcing policies.
Comparison with Similar Articles
The pages for other renowned scientists, such as Alberto Mantovani and Antonio Lanzavecchia, provide a precedent for the acceptance of pages about notable individuals in the field of immunology. These pages are similarly structured and provide detailed accounts of their subjects' careers and contributions, supported by citations from reputable sources.
For example:
Alberto Mantovani’s page highlights his career milestones, awards, and contributions to immunology, structured in a manner similar to Matteo Iannacone's page.
Antonio Lanzavecchia’s page also details his education, career, and key research findings, following the same neutral and factual tone used in Matteo Iannacone’s article.
Conclusion
Given the above points, I believe that the article on Matteo Iannacone adheres to Wikipedia’s standards for notability and neutrality and provides valuable information about a significant figure in the scientific community. I respectfully request that the deletion nomination be reconsidered and the page be retained.
Thank you for your consideration.

For what it's worth, few if any administrators take much notice of messages which look as though they are written not by a person with an understanding of the issues involved, but by a machine with no understanding whatever of the issues, but considerable skill at writing grovelling letters in a rather stiff and pompous style. Thank you for your feedback.
I apologize if my previous message seemed impersonal. I genuinely want to understand how to improve the page for Matteo Iannacone to meet the criteria for publication.
Could you please provide specific guidance on what issues need to be addressed to meet Wikipedia’s standards without being nominated for speedy deletion?
Thank you for your assistance. 192.167.192.170 (talk) 14:54, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Frarro88. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Matteo Iannacone, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. It's clear that you have some close connection to this person – you know him well enough to have taken this posed photograph. Either the page is an autobiography (and autobiographies are strongly discouraged in this project) or you are (most probably) a paid editor who has not made the disclosure required by the Terms of Use of this platform. In either case your continued additions of grossly promotional content such as "research career marked by significant advancements" is unacceptable.
