Thank's for the fix! I had noticed it when I was about to fix the error myself, and wondered why it had already been done! How did you come across my list so quickly anyways? -- Earl Andrew - talk 04:04, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

No problem, just borrowsing your user page after I was checking for a tag that you used.

Thanks for uploading Image:LewistonMaineiacs.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. cohesiontalk 22:02, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Nova Scotia Jr. B

Hi, I noticed you editted the NS Jr B League. I made a bunch of east coast hockey league articles... and I know nothing about them. I'd like to invite you to enhance them... make sure I have the towns right... add champions or history... please... I need the help... even add team pages to your favourite teams... whatever... I know nothing of any league east of Ontario.

Any of these, please help. DMighton 02:06, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

NIL isn't Major

The fact is, the NFL, NBA, and MLB are the three major leagues. They have always been around. The National Icehockey League is too new (since the 1990's or so) and too regional to be a major sport. I don't even know who won the NIL trophy this year, or what its name is, and the same is true for everyone I know. The NIL isn't even on TV. How can it be a major sport?

Also, icehockey isn't even played in schools.

If you want an article on other sports, make your own article. Stop polluting Wikipedia with foreign irrelevant opinions.

AvgJoe 18:15, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

What's the NIL? You lose all creditablity since you don't even know the proper name of the NHL.

Diacritics

Hi, I really don't know who to ask about this, but was a consensus reached on Czech hockey players and the use of diacritics in their article's titles? I'm concerned that the user Travelbird may be moving pages before getting the go-ahead from everyone. Junior B Teams

Hello, a user has decided that he does not want us placing hockey stubs on Wikipedia to expand later into teams. In particular he doesn't like Junior teams... NHL venues

I don't think that neutral-site NHL venues should be included in the NHL venue category. Temporary buildings like the Springfield Civic Centre can be as they were a team's home, but if we open it up to every single place then NHL has played a game then the category will include quite literally hundreds of arenas. BoojiBoy 17:57, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm inclined to leave out the one-game places as well. Again, sometimes weirdness results in a team playing half a season in an arena somewhere but I don't think that places like Rochester can be considered an "NHL venue", even if the Sabres have played one NHL exhibtion game there. I'd be inclined to remove Commonwealth Stadium from the list as well. An alternative might be to create a subcategory. BoojiBoy 18:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, the ECHL IS interested in having a team play in Ontario, CA

The ECHL is still very interested in having a team play in Ontario, California, and it would be determined later if the membership would be an expansion or relocation.

Straight from the mouth of the ECHL contact page.Tom Danson 17:43, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

WILL THE ECHL PLEASE BE CONSISTENT?

To Whom It May Concern:

We all know that the proposed Ontario, California franchise is playing as the Phoenix Roadrunners. That is because the arena project in Ontario didn't get off the ground in time.

However, now it is getting off the ground on time, and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2007. It will be home to the NBA Development League franchise owned by the Los Angeles Lakers (no name has been announced yet). However, no other tenants have been confirmed yet.

Which brings my question to focus: Do you have any desire to expand to Ontario? If so, would it be expansion or relocation?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Michael Burmeister Hockey Fan

Hey FrankCostanza . There is a lively debate about use of promo photos on wikipedia. My name is Jeff and I Do not support the interpretation of WP:FU as implemented by user's like User:Chowbok. They believe that Wikipedia should be free of all promotional photos that are "replaceable with an equivalent" (i.e. an amateur photo from flickr). Their rationale is being debated in many places, and take it a step further believing that all promo photos should be deleted and let someone else deal with finding and uploading a free alternative.

And many other places I've no doubt missed.

I and many others who support use of fair use promotional photos have not been successful in changing the actions of Chowbok and rampant deletion and changing of many hundred's of useful images from Wikipedia articles continues. One good example is the Jennifer Granholm article which had a great promo photo replaced by a terrible photo. I seek to raise the profile of this issue through challenging promotional photos on high profile article's like this one. I'm sorry, really I am, but fair use policy as implemented by Chowbok has left me with few viable options.

I invite you to join the battle for Promotional Photo usage on Wikipedia and the protection of Fair Use concepts. --Jeff 07:29, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Metropolitan Montreal Junior Hockey League

Have you heard of the defunct Metropolitan Montreal Junior Hockey League? I am researching NHL alumni for the Verdun Maple Leafs, the Laval Saints and the Saint-Jérôme Alouettes. It appears that teams from the MMJHL might have joined with teams from the QJHL in 1969 to form the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Any thoughts? Flibirigit 03:48, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Interesting use of adapting my signature to your own uses on User talk:68.84.128.226, although I might point out that the "Talk" link still points to mine instead of here, and you didn't bother to change the date (which is easy enough- just use five tildes). Help with RFC

Hello fellow Wikipedia:WikiProject_Nova_Scotia member. I have recently lodged a Request for Comments on the Talk:Halifax, Nova Scotia page. I and several other editors have had a running dispute with user Lonewolf BC. The RFC is This is a dispute about whether it is accurate to continue to refer to the area of or approximately coinciding with the boundaries of the City of Halifax, which became a part of the rural/urban Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996, as a city.

Basically, as I say on the RFC, we all agree that this is no longer a City, but to use former City's boundaries when describing the current urban area as a "city" (note the lower case) is at best arbitrary and at worst a fabrication. The city is now a continuous area that wraps the harbour, from Portuguese Cove (outside of the city of Halifax to the west and south) to Cole Harbour (outside of the former City of Dartmouth to the east). People now refer to the entire urban area of Halifax Regional Municipality as 'the city' and 'Halifax'.

Anyway, the bottom line is at least five people have tried to change the wording of the intro since January, and every time this one user changes it back. I have tried to come up with compromise wording, and he won't dialog. Right now wikipedia says HRM and Halifax are the capital of Nova Scotia. This article is now factually incorrect, in my opinion, and I need your help, please chime in. WayeMason 23:08, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
