Hey! Web emailed me and wanted you guys to throw a couple more topics with some back up data in my sandbox so I could send them to the ambassador. I'm just going to send this same message to everyone... I'm sure he'll mention something in class today. Amcoquillard (talk) 14:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Student orientation: how to edit Wikipedia
[edit]Hi! I hope you're excited to edit Wikipedia as a part of your class this semester! Since this is likely a new way of completing an assignment and the community norms and expectations are new to you, we've created this awesome orientation for students. It covers a lot of the basics of editing Wikipedia and ways you can use your coursework to improve the encyclopedia. It takes 1-2 hours to complete, and I believe this thorough introduction will save you time in the end. It will help you figure out how to create content that sticks and can serve as a reference throughout your editing. I hope you'll take a look and see what you can learn about the work that goes into creating good articles. Good luck with your assignment, and thanks for editing! DYK for Forest Idyl
[edit]On 6 December 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Forest Idyl, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the version of Albin Polasek's sculpture Forest Idyl (pictured) on display at Ball State University is known as the "Naked Lady"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Forest Idyl. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
