Hi, I notice you've been editing since December, and no-one's welcomes you yet!

Welcome!

Hello, Foxearth, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Nomination

[edit]

Wanted to know if you wanted to be nominated for adminnistrator? You'd make a very good adminnistrator, you always know the best way to edits things, put stuff into correct categories etc. Let me know. Haven't done it yet.ForestH2 00:26, 30 April 2006 (UTC)ForestH2[reply]

Thanks ForestH2, of course - I can't find the right words to express my appreciation. I'll just say simply: thank you! Foxearth 02:52, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I've been offline for a while, I've done it now - see what you think... Foxearth 11:27, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Sigh..Someone thinks you did not accept. They erased it. User is OlegAlexandrov. The edit history says (not accepted by you and poorly formatted)- ForestH2

Per my message below, the RfA has not been erased, merely de-linked from the main WP:RFA page, since it has not yet been formally accepted (where indicated at the top of the page). The nomination should not be included on the main page until formally accepted (per our policy). It's still available at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Foxearth. UkPaolo/talk 15:47, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

[edit]

Hello. I see you've been put forward for nomination. However, without trying to be cruel, it may be better to withdraw as I think it would be very unlikely to succeed. Many people expect admins to have wide experience with wikipedia, with many edits over a wide range of subjects, and 270 edits with none in project space looks on the very low side. (Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Standards is an unoffical list of what many people use as a rough guage of time and edits). I'd also point out that the chores you mentioned dont' have to be done by a sysop, every editor can fix inaccuracies and fight vandals. Please don't take this to heart, but keep up the good editing. Regards, MartinRe 14:58, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I would agree with MartinRe above. I just wanted to point out, however, that whatever you wish to do, you should accept or decline the nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Foxearth. At the moment, whilst you have answered the questions, you have not formally accepted the nomination (in the given space at the top of the page), and thus another administrator has removed your request from the main WP:RFA page. Please keep up the good editing, and in the future I'm sure you'd make a good admin! UkPaolo/talk 15:42, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I agree too. Just be around for a while longer, say 3 months, do good work, and give it a try again. :) Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 16:38, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Adminship

[edit]

It is my regretful task to inform you that I have closed your request for adminship early as unlikely to achieve consensus. Please do not be discouraged; a number of users have had their first RfA end without consensus, but have been promoted overwhelmingly in a later request. Please continue to make outstanding contributions to Wikipedia, and consider requesting adminship again in the future. You may find Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship helpful in deciding when to consider running again. If I can be of any help to you, please do not hesitate to ask. What?

[edit]

Foxearth, what is semi-confirmed on the OOTP film page. All of those, our confirmed due to casting of various characters and I am sorting as quickly as possible. Anways, thanks for sorting them. ForestH2

You categorized them. Let me have better wording. I thought there may have been two many categories but otherwise it looks fine. ForestH2
What excatly is your IP Adress? You've changed them around. ForestH2

No, they remain on here

[edit]

Foxearth, every character should remain on the Order of the Phoenix Differences page until they are confirmed. You keep taking characters out which is not O.K. If you haven't heard of them, it's fine, they still played minor roles so don't remove them again. ForestH2

Confirmed Scenes

[edit]

Foxearth, all those semi-confirmed are confirmed. For example, if they casted Amielia Bones and decided not to do Harry's trial why did they cast her? Why did David Heyman, negotiate with the actors and actresses for the Dursley's scenes and saw were taking out the dementor scene. That doesn't make sense. As we noted on Gilderoy Lockhart as Kenneth Brannagh, there has been no news if he was taken out of the first draft of the script, and Heyman or David Yates never confirmed hospital scenes. The rest of the scenes are confirmed, there's ethier "Confirmed Scenes", "Deleted Scenes" or "Unknown Scenes" All scenes that you put in "Semi-Confirmed" belong in Confirmed Scenes. Anyway-there are sources which confirm these. No need for Semi-Confirmed. Let me ask you this. Dawlish has been casted. If you put Fudge sacking Dumbledore after Umbridge finds out about the DA as Semi-Confirmed meaning so source has listed them, and there's a chance they might be cut, why was Dawlish even casted? Therefore, they remain like they are now. And also, do not delete the characters on the Differences between Book and Film Verisons of OOTP. They are meant to be there, and what you are doing can be considered vandalisim. ForestH2

Why not post your ideas on the OOTP talk page? Though, all those semi-confirmed are really Confirmed Scenes...... ForestH2

Look this is bloody ridiculous, I agree to disagree here, in the past characters in the book have been changed around for the movie versions, and storylines/scenes altered - you have based this 'confirmed' scenario on pure assumption. Therefore it is logical that these scenes should be placed under the heading: 'semi-confirmed' due to no official word from Warner Bros. or anyone involved closley in the film's production. I never vandilized anything (which is rich coming from a former vandal), I just believe you are over emphasizing the characters in the Differences between book and movie versions of OOTP article (which is incorrectly titled - I believe it should be titled more appropriately, so to keep away from false attraction to the page), if Wikipedia is supposed to be a democratic website - then I believe that you should take my views into account, I have worked hard on the OOTP page (I added the Trivia, Confirmed Locations, Scenes, New Cast, and Cast Order sections) and 'm skeptical as top whether this website lives up to it's reputation, Foxearth (logged out due to computer errors)

Foxearth, you have done a wonderful job on the OOTP page. Though, as I have said, why cast Dudley if your going to not do the dementor scene? Even more of a question-why cast Amielia Bones if your not going to do Harry's trial. Even if you haven't heard the names of the characters, you still add them, because they are minor characters. And it was all you who wanted all those minor characters moved to the OOTP Differences page. We could have them on the actul article of the Order of the Phoenix (film). But you thought there was to much there, so Fbv65edel moved them to the OOTP Differences page. For example, if Eleanor Columbus as Susan Bones gave an interview saying "Seems enthusiastic to return" where do we put it? Though-I never knew you added all those sctions on the OOTP page. Good work there. ForestH2

Vandalism

[edit]

Please point out what I did, as I did a lot of welcomes and warnings tonight. If my warning was in error, please accept my most sincere apology.

Also...

It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! Arbiteroftruth 09:01, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Foxearth, I've been following the exchange between you and ForestH2, and I think this is something which can be resolved easily. I think "Semi-Confirmed" is the answer, with a note saying that the scenes are assumed to be included due to the casting of the character; after all, you never know if Grubbly-Plank will just show up to have tea with Hagrid and discuss those good ol' magical creatures. Let's just step down from this -- there are some arguments which are much more vehement and we don't need to make this one that type. It's not vandalism, nobody's been vandalizing anything. It seems more like caution, which is always acceptable We need to act in a civil manner and appreciate other's edits and concerns. I'd say that we drop this now after an acceptance from each party, okay? I'll post this on Forest's talk page as well, and change the section. --Fbv65edel (discuss | contribs) 02:48, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HBP film

[edit]

Foxearth, I understand your intentions and I don't want to get into any sort of argument, just about your removal of Louis Doyle and Jennifer Smith – since my meticulous Differences between… page of HBP book/film was speedied once, that means the powers that be wouldn't want it to be created again. Therefore, I think it's best we keep them in just for the purposes of inclusion somewhere. Louis Doyle actually had a fair amount of lines in CS and GF combined; I don't know about Smith (didn't even know she was cast until I saw it on WP), but the point is they were cast in the roles and would be expected in some way or another to return. If you really feel strongly about keeping them out, write me back and we can compromise. --Fbv65edel (discuss | contribs) 14:46, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You think Parvati will be recast agian in the sixth film? ForestH2

Nah, not a problem. I'd just rather keep it complete in some place where the page won't be deleted. I agree lavender will be recast… but what do you know? It's just speculation, and it's too bad we can't include that. Forest, Foexarth said that Lavender will be recast a la Pansy Parkinson, Fat Lady, etc., who were recast when their character became more important. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 16:45, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Foxearth, you changing your IP adress, your going from different ones every time. Lavender as we say on the OOTP Differences page is almost postive to be recast. ForestH2

TTTE Season 10

[edit]

Hi there,

As I've indicated on my talk page, I'm not familiar with the procedures for further action in protecting pages, but support you 100% in this (both as a Wikipedia user, and co-founder of WikiProject Thomas. Gonzerelli 14:05, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Calm down....Foxearth. Current Harry Potter Wikiproject founder, Evilphoenix says he has no problem at all citing IMDB. It's you that's got the problem. Evilphoenix would agree with me as if another source said that IMDB was citing it per 72.129.123.139's talk page, and other sources do. If you read the book you'll find out which chapters the centuars are in. ForestH2

And your edit summary....Wikipedia is a fan controlled website. I wouldn't take any of their info. ForestH2

Calm down? What are you on about? I have not got a problem, and I've had enough with your insolence - everytime I make an edit you try and contradict me - IMDB is a fan based site any one can add anything. I have read the book (the centaurs aren't in it - except for the ending, which is very unlikely that they'll use live actors for). Evilphoenix (conveniently) no longer sings in - so how can we ask him? Im trying to help this article by stating sources that are verifiable. Foxearth 00:25, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Ahha. And you take Wikipedia as the best website in the word? I dobut it. Wikipedia is a fan controlled website. Look at 72.129.123.139 if you don't believe me. If the centuars are in it, there still on the list. ForestH2
Stop being so ridiculous, did I ever call Wikipedia the best site in the world? No! The two websites are different kettles of fish, IMDB doesn't have souces to back up statements Wikipedia does, I will report this if it goes any further, this petty bickering is beyond belief... Foxearth 00:30, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not cite sources. I have enough of your bickering. ForestH2
Wikipedia does site sources - you find little nit picks with anyone who tries to do their job properly - I'm trying to maintain this website, your last comment makes no sense and you are not seeing the full picture - I disagree with your views leave the page as it is.. Foxearth 00:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes. I've had enough of your bickering. Your coming close to violating a Wikipedia policy. ForestH2
How dare you report me for vandalism! I have done nothing wrong whatsoever. Delete that now I'm trying to do my best Foxearth 00:36, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
You vandalized the page by removing characters such as you did on the Order of the Phoenix Differences. Did you even look at 72.129.123.139's talk page? ForestH2
No I didn't. Why the hell would I want to. I am not vandalising anything...—Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxearth (talkcontribs)
Yeah you did. All characters remain on the list. I cited my source saying Evilphoenix says so clearly on 72.129.123.139's talk page. ForestH2

Please do not remove content from Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ForestH2

Please refrain from removing content from Wikipedia, as you did to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film). It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ForestH2

Please stop. If you continue to remove content from pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ForestH2

Hello Fbv65edel

[edit]

Hello, I'm desperately need your help. To be honest, ForestH2 has taken things completely out of context (see example on my talk page), I edited the HBP movie page, all I did was dissect the Christian Coulson/IMDB confirmation issue, and with reason, I referred to it as a 'rumour' - for as we both know IMDB is a fan based site, anyone can add anything for fun - so it's not a reliable source, unless thedy actually state this evidence from elsewhere (which they can't because it's a database - and don't back up anything with official evidence). Forestdisagrees with me and considers my edits vandalism. He's become very vindictive, issuing everyone who disagrees with him a vandalism warning - I need you to help me try and get him to understand that IMDB is not verifiable, and I've not vandalised anything (because I changed the page with reason)... Thanks eternally Foxearth 07:32, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

I've left Wikipedia. If you think IMDB is a bad source, why not check Muggle Net where it says so? Or as I know Foxearth seems to well I don't want to call it lazy though to even look at other pages. Wikipedia is a fan based website and if I were a member of T.V.com, I'd take none of there infromation. People add stuff to IMDB for fun? No, I don't think so. I suggest you goggle search Christian Coulson returning for Movie 6 and see what you get. I'm going to take your view on this (only for a second) and ask why haven't you spotted the IMDB stuff we have on the Order of the Phoenix page? It's not a rumor-IMDB has incredible news coverage and so does Muggle Net. I've issued a vandalisim warning to a bunch of people who vandlaized pages such as Rhindle The Red etc. ForestH2

Foxearth, I'm sorry, I'm on vacation and quite erratic so without internet. I don't have the time to read of the situation, and it's too bad about Forest, but when I get home this sunday (25th I think) I hope to address everything. I think there's a good way to resolve that, and that's talking to IMDb! Thanks for your patience and I hope we can settle this well. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 16:53, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject reply

[edit]

Hello, I wasn't particularly criticising the idea, but just thought it would be useful to mention that there isn't that much material to write about. Obviously, the main Fawlty Towers page is in need of being greatly expanded - as you may have noticed, I gave it a substantial makeover last night by including the hallowed footnote references, which were a comment of the peer review, as well as other major changes. As I wrote on the talk page, I think it would probably pass as a "good article" now, so if you would be willing to nominate it, that would be great.

My main concern about your project proposal is that I wonder whether it would be better for a person who clearly loves the series to focus on writing those missing plot summaries for the last five episodes and expanding the main page because, from what I gather, creating a "wikiproject" is actually quite hard work in terms of creating templates, some of which have to be approved, and writing a detailed project page of the aims of the project, which considering the small number of potential articles for Fawlty Towers, I would suggest would be time better spent improving the main article and those connected to the series.

As I wrote on a similar comment on the Fawlty Towers talk page, I think a project perhaps focussing on the top 10 or 20 candidates in Britain's Best Sitcom would be more appropriate. Certainly that would then include your Father Ted proposal, as well as some of the other popular sitcom pages that you cite on your userpage. Bob 12:23, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you're saying, but no it wouldn't, because if you look on most wikiprojects, they list their parentage. Dad's Army is part of WikiProject British TV shows, as are wikiprojects Doctor Who, Big Brother and Eastenders. Anyway, I'm not against a Wikiproject Fawlty Towers, just thought I'd make a comment about it, which is surely what you invited people to make. Indeed, I might even be tempted to join if you get it up and running. Bob 16:20, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Work Statement into Rest of Article

[edit]

Now as Muggle Net's removed the Coulson In Negotiations thingy, and Fbv65edel has asked IMDB about there false info, I'm quite suprised of your edit. Yes, falsey accused of being in Negotiations, but why do you erase why not? He has to have something saying he's enthusiastic to return. Do you want to add something like Likely to return or Zetawoof's intial statement, "I don't know, why not?" ForestH2-not logged in. 72.134.40.173 21:21, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See my edit on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince film page. ForestH2 00:07, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And you misunderstood me. But at least everything's clear. ForestH2 00:09, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fawlty Towers

[edit]

Hi. It would appear that like me, you are also a great fan of "Fawlty Towers." Nice to see that you are also contributing greatly to "Fawlty Towers" related articles. --Newton2 20:03, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm going through the Fawlty Towers articles and correct mistakes or notable omissions I see in your work. It's nothing personal, and if I've done a correction wrongly feel free to revert it back. In particular, here and there I'd like to remove things which look like speculation (e.g. how Basil and Sybil met). Again, if I'm wrong and something is in fact mentioned after all during the series, feel free to change it back. Rocksong 05:10, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Vandalism

[edit]

I believe you but then I don't believe you that you don't use an IP a lot. From previous discussions you use an IP alot due to computer problems, and your most recent IP's have been removing content from Differences between Book and Film verisons of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and now Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (film) Sorry for the mistake, but I can't deny that your IP seemed like the IP's who had vandalized the Differences of the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Your contributions look great. You are not a vandal. Treebark (talk) 15:32, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Kipper and the Corpse

[edit]

Hi, I have added the cast and plot information to this article so now it just needs a bit of trivia to be addded. The plot is quite long but I feel it needs to be quite in depth in order to adequately explain the goings on. --Newton2 18:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Fawltyhotel.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fawltyhotel.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Uploading images

[edit]

Hello!

Thanks for uploading some pictures to Wikipedia. I wanted to make sure you were aware of some of the requirements and good practices for uploaded images.

  • Pick an image name.
When uploading an image, pick a file name that is descriptive, and unique. Remember that many images may be uploaded about the same topic, and remember that names are case sensitive.
  • Source the image.
On the image description page, explain where the image came from. If you created the image yourself, then say so. If it's from the web, give a URL. If it's a screenshot of a movie or game, or a scan from a book, give the title.
  • Provide copyright and license information.
This part is a little bit trickier, but it's very important. The copyright of the image generally belongs to whomever created it.
If it's a photograph you took, or an image you created (modifying an image that already exists doesn't count) in software like Photoshop or GIMP, then you own the copyright. To upload it to Wikipedia, you must agree to license it under the GFDL (which allows anyone to use it, but requires that they give credit to the original author and requires that any further edit to the image be licensed under the GFDL as well) or release it into the public domain (which allows anyone to use it for any purpose without restriction.) Do this by placing an appropriate tag on the image description page, like {{GFDL}} or {{PD}}. Be sure to mention that you created the image. If you're using {{PD}}, you may also want to use {{NoRightsReserved}}, since there is some dispute as to whether one may grant items into the public domain.
If you didn't create the image, or the copyright somehow belongs to another party (like a screenshot, which you might "create", but the copyright belongs to the author of the movie or video game), then you need to find another tag that describes the copyright status of the image. Images used on Wikipedia need to be free for our use and the use of sites which reproduce our content. This means that images cannot have a restriction such as "only for use by Wikipedia", or "for non-commercial use only", or "for educational use". Images without a free license may be usable in certain articles under fair use, but such a use should be justified on the image description page.
  • Describe the image.
To another reader, the image may not be immediately understood. A caption in an article doesn't explain the image to a visitor who sees it on its image page. Put a brief explanation of what is in the image on the image description page, similar to what you might include in a caption on an article.

Fawlty Towers userbox?

[edit]

Um... hello I was wondering why the Fawlty Towers picture (with him hitting the Hillmann Minx) cannot be used on the userbox. Thanks - reply on my talk page it'll be easier Foxearth 00:43, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello. Fair use images can only be used in article namespce. See User:Ed g2s/Fair use. You also need a detailed fair use rationale for each fair use image you use for each article it is used on. The JPStalk to me 08:52, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've replied to your misanthrope question on my talk page: the general gist is that I don't care. (The IP is cyber stalking me, and would have reverted me if I had removed the link).

However, you inserted another fair use image in that user box. Fair use images are not allowed outside of article space. This includes user boxes/user pages/project pages. This is a matter of policy, not opinion. Please do not add any more fair use images to a page unless it is an article: then it should be accompanied with a detailed fair use rationale. Please feel free to ask if this is unclear. Cheers. The JPStalk to me 10:37, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fawltytoycar.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. You originally tagged this image with {{money}} which is for images exempt from copyright since they depict a unit of currency. This is clearly inappropriate. UkPaolo/talk 21:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images

[edit]

I'm going to assume good faith and assume that you haven't read my above post. Fair use images are not allowed outside of article space. This means you cannot put them in userboxes. You cannot put them on project pages. You cannot put them in temlpates. The JPStalk to me 16:05, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GFDL

[edit]

Please do not tag images as GFDL unless you have explicit evidence that this is the correct license. I have corrected some of your images. Also, please provide more accurate and specific sources so that we don't have to hunt in a large website to verify the status of a specific image. The JPStalk to me 16:15, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TfD nomination of Template:Infobox Fawlty Towers

[edit]

Template:Infobox Fawlty Towers has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. The JPStalk to me 16:30, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images: again

[edit]

You have reverted my changes and have gone against policy yet again after notification, and without discussion. This is considered vandalism, and the next time you do this you will be blocked from editing. Feel free to ask me if you are unsure, or how I can describe our simple policy better. The JPStalk to me 09:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, to be honest I'm a novice to all this and I'm not deliberately trying to vandalise anything, I do apologize Foxearth 09:12, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK -- I'm always keen to help people, but it becomes difficult to assume good faith when you have told them the same thing three times! Now, you need to add a detailed fair use rationale for the images you have uploaded. I created this page specifically to help novices. All fair use images require it, especially if you use the "Fair Use In" tag. The JPStalk to me 09:18, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Woodburnfire.jpg

Blocked for further image violations

[edit]

I'm sorry to have to do this, but I am giving you a short block for yet again violating our fair use policy (criteria 9), despite numerous warnings. This block refers to this and this edits. I have explained numerous times that it is against policy to use fair use images outside of main article space. You are welcome to return after your short block, but further violations will result in longer blocks. Everyone makes mistakes, but you are expected not to make the same ones repeatedly after being notified of them. The JPStalk to me 11:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting

[edit]

Hi, Foxearth. I don't mean to cause trouble but there are some formatting problems, ForestH2 pointed out on the Fawlty Towers wikiproject and they haven't been fixed. First of all-titles. The title is "above" means that when you click on the page you can look at the title. Second that page is way to long. I know a lot about Fawlty Towers, and related things, but that wikiproject page needs to be updated. There should be a speterate page called Wikipedia:Wikiproject Fawlty Towers/Templates etc. I will keep upgrading the page, because there are parts that need to be removed. Carmelapple 01:48, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, check Wikipedia:Wikiproject Harry Potter. I suggest you make a subpage or put a section called "Images on the Fawlty Towers Wikiproject", "AFD's on the Fawlty Towers Wikiproject" and a watchlist of all Fawlty Towers pages. Let me know if you need any help. I'm thinking of joining. Carmelapple 13:36, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright, I totally understand where you were coming from. The 4 new characters are on the Direct-to-video release of On Site With Thomas, just to let you know. The pics were from an early-released copy of the DVD. Digied21

Foxearth, please don't inflame the situation with User:BigThomasFan. Re-opening the dispute isn't productive, the only think you're likely to get out of this is provoking him into further bad behavior. Please let this one go and stop antagonizing him. Hello Foxearth. Yes, I did have a reason. I didn't know what a talkpage was and I wanted to see if my edits actully went through- I had been having internet problems; and then I didn't know how to revert so I just left the edits there; waiting for someone else to revert; and then I learned how to revert. I also wanted to know where to experiment (I know to do it in the Wikipedia Sandbox) and I promise I won't vandalize your page again. VanM 17:24, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Fawltyhotel.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fawltyhotel.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jason Boyd (actor), by Zeibura, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jason Boyd (actor) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jason Boyd (actor), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Jason Boyd (actor) itself. Fair use rationale for Image:Fawltytowers_1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Fawltytowers_1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 23:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other Vessels in TUGS listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Other Vessels in TUGS. Since you had some involvement with the Other Vessels in TUGS redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 23:54, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikiproject: Fawlty Towers is believed to be inactive

[edit]

I see that you are the founder of WikiProject: Fawlty Towers. This project is now believed to be inactive (it has been categorised as an inactive WikiProject) so I am wondering whether you had any ideas about how to re-vitalise it. Vorbee (talk) 17:29, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:WikiProject Fawlty Towers articles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The article Chris Tulloch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long-time unreferenced page. I couldn't find sources to show it is notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
