DYK for Ellen Bernstein
On 7 April 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ellen Bernstein, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ellen Bernstein was called the "birthmother of Jewish environmentalism"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ellen Bernstein. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Ellen Bernstein), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Can you help me improve an article to contest a deletion?
Hi Forsythia,
Recently I made the article Fentanyl Crisis in San Francisco and I saw you made some pretty major edits to it. Someone today has requested it be deleted. I think this is wrong and so I want some help. First, the crisis is not covered at all on the main San Francisco article and I think that it would make the article too cluttered to mention it there, so that's why I think this independent article is important. What I'm thinking about doing is maybe moving to "Opioid Crisis in San Francisco" and linking more to California Opioid Crisis.
Alexysun (talk) 00:14, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there,
- So I can understand why the original poster proposed a deletion, as currently the article is pretty barebones. That said, when I first edited the article and checked for news coverage, there does seem to be quite a lot of coverage, especially in terms of political reactions/proposed political action. I'd suggest looking to that to start beefing up the article, as well as potentially expanding on the public health implications.
- I think moving the article to the broader "Opioid Crisis in San Francisco" is also a good idea, as that is more likely to hold up to a notability claim simply by its broader nature. If worst comes to worst, the information from the current article could be added to the California Opioid Crisis article.
- I will look into seeing if I can beef up the article myself, but I will admit I am very unfamiliar with California politics, and some of the sources are behind paywalls for me. ForsythiaJo (talk) 02:43, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- Update - I have added some refs to the article, and some additional sections w/ info. I've also added some links to potentially useful articles on the talk page, which might be helpful to expand the discussion of background and political reactions.
- And again, I do support your proposal to move the article to focus on the opioid epidemic in general, as many of the articles seem to focus on the idea of drug policy, harm reduction, etc in general terms, rather than fentanyl-specific policies or programs. ForsythiaJo (talk) 03:21, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank so so much for improving the article! I will make more of the updates that you suggested! Alexysun (talk) 17:29, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

Women in Green
Hello. I have 2 questions:
- What is the main activity in WP:WikiProject Women in Green? Does it only lead to the good articles?
- How can I protect my Contributions and Statistics? I don't want to be among political detained in Iran!
Note: Some time ago, the account of the head of Persian's Wikipedia has been banned indefinitely by the Wikimedia Foundation after 17 years. He and several other admins were giving information about political activities Wikipedian to Iran's intelligence agencies. Claggy (talk) 05:36, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there,
- So I haven't been super involved with WikiProject Women in Green, but my understanding is they primarily focus on improving articles about women and their works, whereas Women in Red primarily focuses on the creation of new articles.
- As to the second question - frankly I don't know enough about the technical side of Wikipedia to know if that's an option. I would recommend reaching out to an administrator (or someone else higher up) to see what your options are/what privacy policies are already in place. I do know that your IP address is hidden from regular users, so as long you don't post personal information there shouldn't be a way for someone to easily identify you.
- I hope this helps! I also hope you don't mind I've been editing some of your new pages/drafts - I like to check out the New Articles Feed, so I've been seeing and then editing some of your content. ForsythiaJo (talk) 18:02, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the response. I am here for learning and be complete. I don't speak and write English as fluent. I sincerely welcome your contributions. Claggy (talk) 18:57, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
