If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Foodieee, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was MeliBio, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello @Drmies
Good to e-meet you.
I am a SF Bay Area based future of food / foodtech mega-fan. I follow startups from this industry and MeliBio is one of the companies that I follow, next to startups such as Upside Foods & Miyoko's Creamery. I am not affiliated with any of mentioned companies, I just want to contribute to the industry I am following. As for MeliBio, I noticed that there is some kind of war going on at their page. Maybe because company is making honey without bees and some beekeepers are not happy with it. Their page looked legit with tons of references, also MeliBio is the pioneer of the bee-free industry and I find them to be relevant to have a wiki.
I am still getting into the details of wiki editing and I am sorry if any of my actions caused trouble.

No trouble, thanks. You can propose edits on the article talk page. Your edit had all the hallmarks of a returning editor, and the removal of the COI template is especially notable. How would a new editor know to do all these things? Why would you remove that tag? What would you know about the article history? Etc. Take care, Drmies (talk) 00:44, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I mentioned, the bee-free honey company is among food-tech companies I follow. You can see that my edits are only on pages from this industry. I looked into the Melibio page's history and I saw that there was a version of the article that was marked as promotional or something related to that. Then I saw that there were revisions made by user: 2601:646:4000:75b0:3402:d5f5:5869:1e54 that seemed to be contributing to making the article factual with neutral point of view. After that, user ABHammad restored the tag without any explanation. I looked into the ABHammad and their contributions are not existing in the world of food-tech. I don't know if there is any bias against Melibio, foodtech of bee-free honey, but I found that restoration of the tag to be non contributing to expanding the Wiki knowledge in the food-tech space. Again, I am sorry that I took this route instead of bringing this to an attention of a senior editor. Foodieee (talk) 00:57, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
