Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Dodecanese. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -FisherQueen 13:07, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Rhodes. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. -FisherQueen 13:08, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When I looked at your links, they appeared to be, not information about the places, but advertising for places for travellers to stay. If I misinterpreted the links, then I apologize. I didn't look at other links on the page, since I was just patrolling recent changes, but if there is a commercial link on that page, feel free to remove it. -FisherQueen 18:53, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. --Hu12 20:31, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for watching over the Dodecanese and Rhodes External links. These are my islands and I am glad people are removing spammers, recently I found out about wikipedia and I decided to help in this task by watching over too. I am the administrator of http://www.blueislands.gr and I hope you visit this webpage and see what it offers. It is the Official Greek Government guide, its owner is the Federation of Dodecanese Tourist Family Accommodations in Greece, they are not making any money out of it, they are informing the visitors about the Dodecanese Islands, the municipalities, the areas with text and photos. They inform the visitor of all the government regulated family accommodations. They dont charge anyone for this. Why would you consider this as spam? Its not a business, its an organisation, and the information found there is not found ANYWHERE else in the web, especially about the areas of each municipality, and the sattelite photos of each area. Thank you, Emmanouil Filippou Administrator blueislands.gr --Fmanos 10:01 23 December 2006

In addition, I see that you removed my link to Rhodes island but you left there the link to thegreeceblog.com which is a website that offers information, but has advertisements from google!!! This website is actually spam and makes money out of the visitors directly... I dont understand this selective removal of links which is common here in wikipedia! --Fmanos 10:09 23 December 2006

Your contributions to wikipedia consist mainly of adding external links and is considered WP:Spam. Looking through your contributions as a whole, the majority seem to be external link related only. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a link farm. If you have a source to contribute, first contribute some facts that you learned from that source. Don't simply direct readers to another site. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to funnel readers off Wikipedia and onto some other site, right? see Links normally to be avoided
You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, even if the guidelines otherwise imply that it should be linked. If the link is to a relevant and informative site that should otherwise be included, please consider mentioning it on the talk page and let neutral and independent Wikipedia editors decide whether to add it. see Advertising and conflicts of interest guidelines.--Hu12 15:13, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So adding links that will enhance the content of Wikipedia is not constructive and not usefull?? I am not a writer, but I know how to remove spam links and I am willing to do this, this is not a contribution? Did you ever see the mess with spam links in de dodecanese islands pages? You would rather have the spam links there than have someone who patrols them and removes them helping in this small way?
I think you are missing the point here, in the rules and regulations... I think every little contribution should be accepted, even though its not directly adding to the content.
As far as the website I am adding to the links, I think will only benefit the viewers... Its an official source, greek government regulated, its a federation... How can we have more opinions on this? One person is not enough I think to decide on that...
Thank you, --Fmanos 11:10 25 December 2006
Editors make the policies here at Wikipedia, feel free to to try and change those policies if you like. Untill that time, those are the policies. If you have content to contribute, contribute that. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to funnel readers off Wikipedia and onto your site, right?--Hu12 15:25, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Hu12 it looks to me that you remove links to websites that are on the top in Google SERPS in an effort to reduce the link popularity of those sites ,even if they are dedicated and more informative to the subject more then wikipedia ,is that a conspiracy to every website that is ahead of wikipedia with the cheap reasoning that they run yahoo or Google adds? By the way do you know many websites that they do not run a commercial program or you live in the early days of web amateurs even wiki runs a commercial programm unter the name of "donation" hope you get over a mil....Let me tell you that ,removing links to relative websites will effect your rankings as well.Maybe I'll see you in Bretts forum soon I will open a thread there Del53 19:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
