Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Flylodev, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.

As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because (Reason for Contesting Speedy Deletion:

I contest the speedy deletion of this page because it was created by a family member and aims to provide accurate and relevant information about flylodev, who is a music producer with notable achievements. The page includes details about his career and contributions to the music industry, which may align with Wikipedia's guidelines for notability.

I am committed to improving the article to meet Wikipedia's standards for verifiability and notability. I request that the page be retained for further review and refinement.

Thank you for your consideration.) --Flylodev (talk) 13:47, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Several points to discuss here:
  1. A person isn't notable just because you say or believe they are; you have to provide verification. To be considered notable, a topic on Wikipedia must have extensive existing coverage in sources that are considered reliable and also independent of the topic itself. You must properly cite these sources to prove that the topic is notable enough for inclusion. Musicians specifically must meet the notability criteria for musicians.
  2. When you say "it was created by a family member", do you mean that they wrote it offline and provided it to you to post? Or does that person also have access to this Wikipedia account and logged in to write it?
  3. That aforementioned family member has an inherent conflict of interest writing about a relative. It is correctly assumed that their relationship to the subject of their writing will impair their ability to write from the required netural point of view. Anyone with a conflict of interest should never attempt to create an article directly, but instead use the Articles for Creation process which allows uninvolved editors to review the draft article first.
  4. Similarly, if you are a friend of family member of the person in this article, then you also have a conflict of interest. And, if you are being paid for your work here (either as an employee or third-party representative), then you are considered a paid editor and disclosure of this is mandatory.
Please respond to the questions about your relationship to the subject you're writing about, and about how many people access this account. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:05, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Draft:Widemouth Howie, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
