Thanks for your strong support
Dear FlyingLeopard2014/Archives/2007,
Thank you for supporting in my recent RfA. Words nor pictures can express my heartfelt appreciation at the confidence the community has shown me. I am both heartened and humbled by this confidence. I will carry the lessons learned from the constructive criticism I have received with me as I edit Wikipedia, and heed those lessons. Special thanks to Pedro and Henrik as nominators. Special thanks to Rudget who wanted to. A very special thanks to Moonriddengirl for her eloquence. |

Hi! I just saw some of your vids on youtube. Where are you from, because I don't recognise your accent.

A response
Replied to your E-mail. Thanks for the birthday wishes as well. Acalamari 21:32, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome for the response: I'm glad I was able to help. :) Regarding that vandal from yesterday, yes, he did remove warnings from his talk page, but that doesn't matter: it was the trolling that got the talk page protected, not the removal of warnings. Evidently that vandal was a fan of me. :) Acalamari 00:03, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Courtesy note
As a courtesy note, I have mentioned an edit you made in a discussion at WT:RFA. Daniel 03:16, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- On the same subject, I think your "strong oppose" was a tad harsh for a case like this. It is obvious to you and me that this candidate's nomination will not succeed, but it is not obvious to him; and of course a "strong oppose" is exactly equivalent to a regular old "oppose" in the eyes of a bureaucrat. Why not use the friendlier option, especially considering that this is a new user who does not yet have a clear idea of how the RFA process works? Abruptness is not only unnecessary -- it may have material consequences, for instance driving away someone who might very well become a valuable editor. The comment directly previous to yours was thoughtful and constructive; I fear yours contributed nothing at all. This is of course only one man's opinion, but I would very much like to see RFA regain its former atmosphere of constructive criticism and collegiality. Avoiding the biting of newbies seems like a fine place to begin. — Dan | talk 03:31, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry, what? Saying "strong oppose" is a violation of WP:BITE now? I find nothing wrong with the diff. NHRHS2010 was stating the obvious, and was not being incivil, just straightforward. With this ridicuolus amount of over-sensitivity to any remote possibility of causing offense, will we ban simple "oppose" soon, enforcing a less "offensive" non-endorsement or slightly less than unconditional support or similar? dab (𒁳) 16:05, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Question
[1] - Isn't not giving a reason for support also unconstructive? ScarianTalk 13:58, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- What guideline are you quoting from? ScarianTalk 14:08, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
"However, oppose and neutral votes must have a reason" - The key word there is "must". Who says they must? It's subjective opinion. It's a subjective subject which, of course by nature, has no basis. It may be unhelpful (And I totally agree with you that it is unhelpful), but you can only advise people to add helpful comments. You can't force them to. In any case, 'crats put more weight on Oppose/Supports/Neutrals with comments than without. So really you have nothing to worry about :-) ScarianTalk 14:13, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
On a different note, I was looking through your userpage: [2] - That drew my attention and it concerns me. No one ever learnt anything by being right all the time. You need to look at the positive aspects of being told that you're wrong. You won't make the same mistake again, if you're told your wrong, will you? That is just one benefit. Just stay WP:CIVIL and WP:AGF of the other editors. It's bad for your heart if you allow yourself to get offended by it. Take good care of yourself, buddy. ScarianTalk 14:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Userpage
Hey. I noticed you have a template on your userpage, "Amos is watching you" etc.. I was wondering, could you tell me how to create one?

Unable to make as much edits
I can't make as much edits now due to the homework there is now. My friend also got me addicted to another game. The chances you would see me online would be very rare. LADodgersAngelsfan (talk) 10:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I am not a troll
What makes me a troll, for heaven's sake? I have been accused of being a vandal, which I am not, and then when I remove that accusation from my user page and inform you of what has happened, you in your edit comments call me a troll. Look at my edit history. I have done no vandalism, no trolling. I would suggest that both you and Staffwaterboy have removed my comments from your user pages as they show that you have acted arbitrarily and without reference to Wikipedia guidelines. 86.155.207.81 (talk) 15:22, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I apologise if I offended your sensibilities. I'm an atheist, so it doesn't offend me; clearly it offends you as a Christian, and for that I apologise. I would ask you, in return, to go by WP:ASSUME. Assume good faith, something neither you nor Swiftwaterboy did in your haste to condemn me. 86.155.207.81 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 16:07, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

xDanielx's RFA thanks
Dear NHRHS,
Thank you for your participation in my request for adminship, which ended successfully with a final tally of (52/10/1). I was impressed by the thoughtful comments on both sides, and the RFA process in general. The extra buttons do look pretty snazzy, but I'll be careful not to overuse them. If you have advice to share or need assistance with anything, feel free to drop me a message or email. Thank you and good day! Cordially, Credits - This RFA thanks was inspired by Carlosguitar's RFA thanks and LaraLove's RFA thanks, which were both inspired by The Random Editor's RFA thanks, which was in turn inspired by Phaedriel's RFA thanks. |

Tiptoety just sent me an email bout it and I will be joining today with this username. Thanks for getting it started, and I hope to be able to positively contribute to it. I've traveled to over 70 countries and lived in 4, so I should be able to do something there. Cheers and Merry Christmas. Jeffpw (talk) 15:23, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because it's the holiday season and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, Elonka 07:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

your user page
I'm sorry but my cousin got into my comp and started editing wikipedia while I left my comp on, and apparently he ended up vandalizing your page, I reverted it, im really sorry. I should be more careful next time. —JA10 Talk • Contribs 02:03, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes I was. Problem is that firefox doesn't log me off when I leave wikipedia, so anyone can edit using my account, but I'm going to start logging out for now on. I still don't know why my cousin vandalized your page, he said something about youtube, he's very immature. —JA10 Talk • Contribs 02:28, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes that is his page, and thank you very much for the barnstar. He can be very stubborn sometimes and is always using my computer without permission. I certainly have learned something today about wikipedia safety and firefox along with that, thank you. —JA10 Talk • Contribs 02:53, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Your CR ### Redirects
Please note that there are many states that have CR 509 besides New Jersey... like Florida for example. Please first do the research in making sure that CR ### only exists in New Jersey before making redirects. If you're not willing to do that, I suggest that you delete the redirects and make a standard disambiguation page for all of them, then tagging the New Jersey CR as a bulleted list. Thank you. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 03:39, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please re-check your google work. If you look at CR 502, CR 503, and CR 509 (former redirects you've made), you'll see that they are now disambiguation pages that refer to CR 502, 503, and 509, respectively in Florida as well. CR may mean County Routes (as referred to in NJ) as well as County Roads (as referred to in FL). As a precaution, I'd strongly recommend you to not just redirect everything and take a closer look. Or... as I suggested before, disambig it... you can't go wrong with a disambig when it comes to an acronym. Happy Holidays! - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 03:49, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

An Administrator is I!
Adventurer! The Council has identified a number of strange occurrences (such as "vandals" and "articles for deletion") in the surrounding wilderness. The Council would check it out, but they have important Councily-type things. But never fear: brave adventurers known as "sysops" roam the lands!
Thank you for your support in my quest to become a sysop. Although I am now wielding the keys to my very own Bitchin' Meatcar, I promise to uphold the laws of the land, martini in hand, in a way that would make Saint Sneaky Pete proud. I am glad to serve my guild, the League of Wikipedians. If I can be of any assistance, or you have any questions, suggestions, or criticisms in the future, please let me know. And if you are at a loss for what any of the above actually means, see this website.
