Marvin Monroe
Marvin Monroe needs an article, like Bleeding Gums Murphy and Cookie Kwan. For that reason I made that edition
What?
I'm not deleting content, I'm adding it. When I went onto the North Korea page it just said asked me if I wanted to create the North Korea page. And so I did. What's wrong with that? The same with Cameroon, and with that nuclear thing. Bonderededed 17:33, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh right...I don't know what's going on there then... Bonderededed 17:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Rules/Regulations
I am helping out with the AFC Backlog Drive and ran into an IP's suggestion from Nov. of 2006. The article already exists on Wikipedia, but is a stub - the suggested article seems much better? Are we allowed to edit the existing article with the submitted IP article if we give credit to the creator? Normally I would just let them know they are free to edit it themselves but I'm afraid they have come and gone. --Counterpart0 00:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

The wrong person is rewriting the Avro Arrow
Hi Flubeca:
May we find out WHO is doing the article rewrite on the Avro Arrow?
Bill Bzuk, with all due respect, has a "pre determined position" in his books on the Avro Arrow.
The Avro Arrow project was camcelled on purely economic grounds by the then Minister of Defence, Hon. Sir George Pearkes. NO silly conspiracies, or intervention by Nixon, or aliens, or anyone in between.
Unless the article writer tells the truth about the cancellation, & removes the silly sections ( replicas, conspiracies, etc.etc.) the rewrite will simply be "inmates running the asylum again". thanks

WikiProject Articles for creation
We are one week in to the drive, and it's already going fantastic. Numerous days of backlogs have been tackled, with hundreds of articles having been reviewed. We do, however, have some news!
First off, a HUGE congratulations to everyone participating so far. I understand some members are inactive due to vacation, but we are still making great progress.
Secondly, make sure that before you go off and review old submissions, that you review all submissions for the present day, and the day before, so that we aren't actually making a bigger backlog, by letting submissions get archived while we're checking stuff from 2006.
Third, remember to update your running total, on the drive page. Honesty is the best policy, so if you lie about the number of articles you've reviewed, we'll all make angry faces while looking at your userpage.
And, last, if you have any questions about the drive, feel free to ask me, or any other members of the project.
Great job, everyone! We're going to get that backlog!

AFC News
We are nine days away from the end of the drive, and it's been fantastic! Many, many, many days of backlog have been tackled, and over 1500 articles reviewed!
To start off, a HUGE THANKS to everyone who helped out with the coordination of the drive, and actually fighting the backlog in the drive itself. Everyone's done a great job helping out, no matter how many articles you've reviewed/
Remember to update your running total, on the drive page. This is the ONLY way that I will be able to give out awards appropriately.
Lastly, I will be giving out awards on August 16th. Anyone who could help me, that would be fantastic. Contact me on my talk page if you'd like to volunteer.
Great job, everyone! This Drive has been fantastic, and I'm sure that some members of the Project have definitely made friends by collaborating on the talk pages. Thanks,

Military history WikiProject coordinator selection
The Military history WikiProject coordinator selection process is starting. We are looking to elect nine coordinators to serve for the next six months; if you are interested in running, please sign up here by August 14! Kirill 03:07, 7 August 2007 (UTC) Thanks, good luck.
Unnamed Section
The Canadian military Aviation section is badly in need of a clean up. Unfortunatley, Bzuk continues his"Alturnative Histories" & makes any attempt pointless:
for example: Hello M. Stefanomencarelli. Welcome to the aviation side of Wikipedia. As you are not a native English speaker, there will need to be some help in editing for readability in grammar. As well, please note that you do need to refer to reference sources to "back up" submissions. Please continue to contribute but be aware that other editors will help you in framing the articles in an encyclopedic manner. FWIW Bzuk 11:04, 26 July 2007 (UTC).
Stefan, be aware that Bill Bzuk has made a retirement cottage industry out of ' coffee table aircraft buff conspiracy books' to quote Melvin Conant. His seriously flawed article on the Avro Arrow can't be improved , as as he rolls back any documented research that disagrees with his "buff books". Avro Arrow is the ONLY aircraft article on Wiki with "political", "Black Friday", "airplane models," & other assorted 'junk.'
Ignore him if you can. Reasoning with him is pointless. Don't let him drive you crazy. thx Opuscalgary 16:06, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
The Avro Arrow "conspiracy sections," films, etc., have to be dumped.
there was no "conspiracy", & I'd hate to see Wiki become a laughing stock.. Opuscalgary 16:17, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Reminder to Mentor
Hola Mentors!
Im sending you this reminder because you volunteered to mentor my students in English Advanced B as they become contributing members of the Wikipedia community. We start working with Wikipedia in earnest next week. I ask you to take a look at your entry in the Mentor Table at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors
Please update the information, esp. with what your technical and informational expertise is or, if you have decided that you no longer want to participate, please remove your information from the table. Please watch the pages associated with the project. Students will contact you via your user page and as soon as my students have user pages, I will put them on the navigation bar associated with the project.
I don’t need to remind you that your job is NOT to write their assignments for them, of course. I certainly will tell my students that… and the fact that you are volunteers that don’t have to help them… so they need to be nice. If any students misbehave (tho I don’t expect it) don’t hesistate to contact me and I will take care of it. The goal of this project is to integrate successfully into the Wikipedia community. Anyway… what I really need your help with is helping students get oriented to Wikipedia, make appropriate changes and write about appropriate topics (see Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Syllabus for assignments). I also need your technical expertise… I am only an English teacher after all! I appreciate what technology does for us but I am no technical expert!
Again, thank you for volunteering and you will hear from us again soon! Thelmadatter 19:31, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter

Good luck! If you need anything, just ask. Cheers, Dfrg.msc 06:51, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
RE:My RFA
I suggest you start creating articles, especially those at WP:RA. If article writing isn't "your thing", I suggest you become more involved in WP:WIKIFY. You could also occasionally drop by WP:FAC and WP:PR and provide your opinion, if you want. By doing this, you will probably have to discuss changes to articles with other users, which will increase your talk space edit count, and I will know that you are willing to work together with others to build this encyclopedia. Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 20:41, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Moved PULHHEEMS
Hi. While Wikifying old article, I moved Pulhheems to PULHHEEMS per Acronym and initialism, example of NASCAR and practice established by internal links, cf. [1]. (Quoting my edit summary). I did not notice until my 3rd edit in that only a few days ago you had decapitalized it. Sorry for undoing your recent efforts! Rather than simply moving it back, I thought to write you and find out why. I didn't see anything at the guidelines to indicate this was disallowed. Did I miss a policy? :) --Moonriddengirl 18:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I was just handling some user-requested CSDs, and noticed after deleting your subpage that another page listed for deletion, Wikipedia:WikiProject_New_Brunswick/quality, had had that template transcluded onto it. League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |

Thanks and Happy New Year
Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.
Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.
Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be great to have your feedback/comments and participation in the recently-set-up Tag & Assess workshop The idea is to see what lessons we can learn from the 2007 drive to make the 2008 one more efficient and enjoyable.
Thanks again for your help, --ROGER DAVIES talk 10:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
