Restoule

You deleted references to two of my sites along with an additional site for Nogo Farms. Why. I believe they should have been left alone. I run the Restoule.com site. David aka computerfella — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.225.164.65 (talk) 14:15, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for removing the material under discussion. I was somewhat annoyed that sportsfan5000 put it back in and was sorely tempted to remove it myself again. Silly of me, I suppose. Two kinds of pork (talk) 23:08, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ontario Highway 30, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Codrington (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank you for spotting that! Must have written it in a draft or removed it in an earlier revision. Not sure off the top of my head what the citation was exactly but I'll try and sleuth it out. Cheers, Floydian τ ¢ 07:03, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

The source you listed tells that this is a "Photo from Cameron Bevers' historical photograph collection". Do you know what this maens? Do you think that he has scanned an old postcard, or is this an old family photo? It says that the original photographer is unknown, but this is often true for both postcards and family photos. For example, I can usually not tell whether my old family photos were taken by my grandmother or by my grandfather. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:46, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

I doubt its a family photo or postcard, because he usually mentions those cases and because its hundreds of kilometres from his family home. More likely it's something he picked up in his travels (yard sale), or its a picture from a book that he can't remember. The photo quality is too spot-on to be amateur at that point in time methinks. - Floydian τ ¢ 20:03, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikidata maps

If you include a map through Wikidata, it must be on Commons; otherwise, it won't work if other language Wikipedias want to use that relation. Also, bots check Commons and don't find the file, and this happens. --Rschen7754 21:22, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Weak... And I doubt they'll change that. Damn you Commons! *shakes fist at clouds above* - Floydian τ ¢ 22:13, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Ontario ACRs

Hey, at your earliest convenience, can you please address the comments at your ACRs? Things are starting to get backed up there. --Rschen7754 22:12, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Sure thing. Been fairly busy as of late, but I should have an opportunity to examine each of them in the next day or two if my memory holds out. - Floydian τ ¢ 08:03, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Nelson Mandela

Hello so I do not want this to to go into a heated back and forth thing but for the Death and funeral section of Nelson Mandela I did the exact thing when Margret Thatcher died that day and nothing like what you are doing happened. and well I thought you were being a jerk and i was going to blast you for it, but i did read the Crystal ball section and in my mind it would be under WP:EVENT and WP:WP:NOT#JOURNALISM and not WP:CRYSTALBALL. Anyway I took a deep breath and calm down, and I also understand why you did and what you did, I do believe that either by tomorrow or in the next few days, this page will have to come back up but until we get more info i will leave it alone for now. I want to also apologize as well and no hard feelings. Nhajivandi (talk) 23:53, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

It's true. The way I see it, WP:DEADLINE is a double edged sword. It implies that there is no rush to get things done in terms of splitting content out. The other sections in Nelson Mandela's article were several paragraphs long, and to me stumbling upon the page, it seemed abruptly out of place to have the two sentence section employing WP:SUMMARYSTYLE. I've found with other notable deaths in the past year and change that "Reaction to death" sections spring up far to much and become a compendium of "In popular culture" trivia. Nothing personal against you or the other editor, but I find the rush to separate the page is only further encouragement to trivia and a list of condolences by other notable people, even if the condolences themselves aren't especially notable. Cheers, Floydian τ ¢ 01:54, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
