I have a reliable source about the recording sessions of Led Zeppelin IV, it's the deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin IV, it shows the recording dates of all the alternate versions of songs on disc two, which go as early as the 8th of November of 1970, to as late as some time in mid-may of 1971, I'll have to double-check it though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.203.68.153 (talk) 04:06, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Beadforlife logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Beadforlife logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. White people can be born in Africa and FDR descended from one. Thus he was "African Born White". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.199.68.222 (talk) 02:31, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Mind your own business
Look mate Billy Joel doesn't only play piano. Surely you'd know that if you went to see him that he didn't stay on the piano the entire time. he's not like Elton John. Just stop screwing things up and we'll be okay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SlasherOfDeath (talk • contribs) 09:44, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- @SlasherOfDeath: I've never said he didn't play anything else, that's absurd. I am going by the template MOS, have you even looked at the guideline ? Piano is his "primary instrument" any other instrument he plays is secondary to his track record/style, secondary instruments are to be brought up in prose and not the infobox. My Page
Hi, I just edited the Wiki Page about me. You have erased it after I just put it up. This page is about me and I should be able to edit it instead of allowing others to insert information about me that is incorrect or private about me. I am not a coder and don't understand all the gibberish you speak of on this page. I'd rather not have a Wiki page than one filled with things I don't want. Here's your tildes

- @5carlosamezcua: First, you don't own that page and Carlos Amezcua would have a conflict of interest and should not be editing that page. There are other guidelines here. Mlpearc (open channel) 04:59, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Jimmy Page edit
I was unaware adding Harry joyce site to external links was consider an advertising plug. Once I was alerted to this via warning message, I thought I hit cancel, thinking it would not,be added and cancelled, so I appologize. I thought the fact that Jimmy Page used a harry Joyce amp while performing with the Black Crowes, it would be ok. As you can probably figure, it was my first attempt adding something to wiki, so again, sorry for that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harry Joyce usa (talk • contribs) 03:22, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Yikes...
Sorry again.... Another thing I was unaware of ( username as a business) I was looking under the Guitar aplifier page and saw all the amplifier companies. So, another newbie mistake... I was just looking to create a similar page as the other amplifier companies. I guess I need to have someone more knowledgable helping me and for me to read some of the wiki info & guidelines. Do I delete my current page to avoid violation? So sorry Mlpearc
- @Harry Joyce usa: Again, no problem but, please post a request for a change, if you continue to edit using your current name an Admin will end up blocking your account. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 04:03, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Edit request for Carter Bays
Hi-
I've already provided citations for facts and other info that requires them on Carter's page (I work with him). Now, we're just hoping to make some ascetic changes to his article. Please let me know what specifically you think requires citations.
For the edit requests that don't require citations, I'm hoping you can just rewrite on my behalf.

Hi. Hey, I apologize for my short-tempered answer ("WP:BURO") to your suggestion that my complaint about Panewithholder be moved to AN/I from the Bureaucrats Noticeboard. I was obviously a little short on patience when I posted the reply, having nothing whatsoever to do with your reasonable suggestion. My bad, sorry. BMK (talk) 00:20, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

'good faith edits'
I left a source in my edit on 'The Endless River'. Gilmour stated in an interview, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwumke98koo 5min3sec, that the organ was recorded in 1968. Also, of the two references which can be where the article currently says 1969, one states that it was recorded in 1968. The organ *was* recorded in 1968, and has been confirmed by Gilmour. I believe you have reverted my edit in error. Nickyschlobs (talk) 04:10, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Nickyschlobs: No, you put it in your edit summary, it needs to be with your edit/change. Also Youtube is not a reliable source Mlpearc (open channel) 04:14, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Repeating my ANI question
Hi, Mlpearc. I have dug out the background to Caper454's frustration for myself now. But I'd still like to know why you added "Worth getting blocked again?" to your templated warning, considering their only previous block was from 2008. Heck, my own block log is longer. I'm not excusing their attacks, which I blocked them for, but I would say you were being provocative. Bishonen | talk 10:26, 5 April 2015 (UTC).
- @Bishonen: I noticed the block notice on their talk while scanning for other warnings, just didn't notice how long ago the block was, I wasn't being provocative I was trying to get them to stop what they were doing. Mlpearc (open channel) 10:37, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
I uploaded a second version of File:Michielhuisman2015.jpg
I uploaded a second version (a cropped version) of the image File:Michielhuisman2015.jpg as File:Michielhuisman2015 (cropped).jpg so that it would fit better in the Game of Thrones cast list where the pictures of the cast members are mostly headshots. A Axl Rose
Hi. Just trying to understand the reversion of the edit on W. Axl Rose. His article shows a picture of him playing the piano. He is credited as playing the piano on Use Your Illusion I, II and Chinese Democracy. There is footage of him playing the piano. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DenseFog (talk • contribs) 20:44, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- @DenseFog: Nobody is saying he don't play piano but, he's not widely known for playing it, he's mostly known as a singer. Him playing to piano can be covered in the article body. See the guideline here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Template:Infobox_musical_artist#instrument Mlpearc (open channel) 21:26, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- So, honest question, is Michael Stipe widely known for playing the guitar (because that's what's listed under "Instruments" on his page)? If no, then the guidelines are pretty vague. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DenseFog (talk • contribs) 22:11, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- @DenseFog: I don't know that artist but, you can ask on the talk page. Mlpearc (open channel) 23:50, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

- @B: Good catch, it's VRTS ticket # 2015020710001776, I've added the ticket number to the file page. Thanx, Mlpearc (open channel) 05:01, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
deleted reference
I've restored a reference for Jeanne Crain which you deleted from Barstow, California. A fact which was sourced from a webpage does not become unsourced when the webpage disappears. See Wikipedia:Link rot for more information. Cheers,—Stepheng3 (talk) 17:39, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

It seems like you think my info is wrong! Yeah you may think it is, but i actually read about this info in reliable articles. Vin Scully
I'm curious to know why you removed my citing of the "League of Their Own" trailer from Vin Scully's page. Here is a link to the trailer, and you will see (and hear) it is exactly as I described it:

Thank you, Michael Schlesinger aka Cadavra8 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cadavra8 (talk • contribs) 06:33, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Cadavra8: YouTube is not a reliable source Mlpearc (open channel) 17:40, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Clearly we have different definitions of the word "source." My source is the trailer itself. YouTube is merely the delivery service. If the trailer is as I described--and it is--I don't understand the rationale for not acknowledging it on his page.
Mike aka Cadavra8 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cadavra8 (talk • contribs) 18:13, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- Did you read the information at the link I provided ? Mlpearc (open channel) 18:20, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes. And it says a source can be the thing itself. Ipso facto, if I refer to a trailer and the source is the trailer itself, I fail to see how it can not be considered reliable. It's like shooting a man on TV and then saying, "Prove I shot him." "Well, we have it on tape." "That's not a reliable source."

Zathura document viewer
Hi Mlpearc,
Thanks for your input on Zathura document viewer. I wondered if instead of just deleting a citation whether you could instead please raise an issue in the talk page? I've been trying to put a bit of effort into the article and removing the citation comes across as a little unconstructive. Cryptarch (talk) 04:45, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Cryptarch: I am the one who placed the {{citation needed}} tag on the claim, instead of removing it as unsourced. If I were the one making the claim I would start a discussion of course. Mlpearc (open channel) 04:53, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, I think that needs clarifying. It's true that you could have simply removed an sourced claim. However, the history clearly flags you as the person who converted a citation into an uncitation.
- I think you should open up a discussion with your concerns about the citation I gave.
- If you're only asserting your opinion with no opportunity for discussion, negotiation or a clear path for rectification, then how is that different to an uncited claim?
- Cryptarch (talk) 05:36, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- It is the contributing editor's burden (if they wish to continue) to gain consensus when a reference is challenged, which I am, you claim that the reference is reliable, I don't think it is. You're more than welcome to start a discussion and see the consensus of other editors. Mlpearc (open channel) 05:59, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining. I've started a discussion here. It would be good to have your feedback on my opinion there. Cryptarch (talk) 21:54, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

- I (not Mlpearc) redirected the Poison songs to the album they were released on, because the songs by themselves have no independent notability. They were either not released individually as singles, or they failed to chart; they have not received any particular awards or recognition; and there are no publications elsewhere that make any claims of importance about them. To justify an article, a song has to do more than simply exist, there has to be something else about it that is historically significant. C628 (talk) 03:30, 27 April 2015 (UTC).

location of navigation templates
Regarding Barstow, California, I understand why it might be tempting to put the {{Geographic location}} template in the body of the article. And it's true that it doesn't belong in the External links section. However, WP:ORDER is clear that {{Geographic location}} is a navigation template. Barbra Streisand's records sale
Hello. I'm sorry for interrupting, but I just want to find someone who could help me with 1 question. In the List of best-selling music artists article it is written Barbra has sold over 145 million records worldwide (and there was talked thread of 245 million figure in the article's discussion, as I've understood finalised by temporary dissent from change included in the article informations). Meanwhile, there was running little edit war in the Barbra Streisand article (switching 145/245 in turns), finalised by semi-protect the article (permanently it is written in the article she's sold 145 million records as it was written previously in the list). And finally, this time there was re-starting edit war in the article Barbra Streisand discography, concluded by adding sources (that was already undermined in the discussion as not reliable and temporarily not suitable to add) claiming 245 million figure, next to (cited in the same statement) source that claims 145 million number. So there is now internal contradiction between informations included in the 3 different articles talking about the very same question. Pls could You help me understand which information should be used as reliable, because I want to use it (of course, I don't want to inflate or understate Streisand's sales number:) Thank You in advance for answer and greetings. :) NS Talk 22:38, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi again. I think my message wasn't well-understood and I've tried to explain it:) I just want to ask - is this information (about 245 million units sold) that is included (added by someone yesterday or sth) in the Barbra Streisand discography article correct and should it be unchanged? I'm asking cause there is included 145 million records figure in the Barbra Streisand article. Could You help me?:) Thank You very much. NS Talk 20:02, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Apologies, again.

Lord Toby Jug
I'd like to apologise for any edits to the Jug page that were deemed to be unconstructive, I'm new to Wikipedia and honestly thought my editing was constructive before they were reverted. The 2015 general election result link, and the link to the William Hill bet story, plus the link to Jug offering Boris Johnson the leadership of the Eccentric Party in the Sunday Times, maybe worth reconsidering ?
The Loony Party have removed the story from their website that Jug was expelled from the Loony Party and Google have removed the URL, Jug, in fact, left the party of his own free will. I'd like that link reconsidered please, thank you.
With regards to the removal of Jug's real name, this was taken because their are three Brian Borthwick's in his family, including his father and son, who don't wish to be associated by name, preferring anonimity. The link to a story about Google taking a story down under EU law, names Jug's ex-partner, Julie Diane Smith, much to her horror, and to Jug's son. I'd kindly like to ask you to remove this from the page please out of respect for their privacy. Thank you.
I hope this is helpful. {SaffieDoodlebug}

Unknown issue
Black Flag does not operate as a company and thus has no official email address. I could send you the Indesign file I originally laid the page out on if you like, or you could check https://libcom.org/library/black-flag-231-mid-2010 - the PDFs of recent issues, with front page covers, have been all been released for free on that platform. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saii (talk • contribs) 11:35, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Updated scripts
Hi Mlpearc. I edited User:Mlpearc Phone/common.js and User:Mlpearc Public/common.js to update you to the latest version of TemplateScript. You were using a much older version called regex menu framework, so the main difference you'll see is an improved regex editor. I also updated deprecated functions and made your scripts HTTPS-compatible. Let me know if anything breaks. :) —Pathoschild 03:47, 09 August 2015 (UTC)
A reader will read "The Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System. [dubious – discuss]", and it might seem to them that the Solar System might not be in the Milky Way, which would absurd. That's the first impression they will have and it might cause some confusion. It is pointless to add that tag simply because of wording (oh, they used the word "our". Big deal). Huritisho (talk) 21:42, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Roger Waters genre change
I think you may not have seen the full chain of events on the Roger Waters article. The opera genre has been in the article since the article was promoted to FA, and the genre was removed (without explanation or discussion) by an IP editor today. As there was no explanation or discussion of this change, I undid the change per WP:BRD. The burden is on the person making the change to build consensus, not on the person objecting to the change.--Mojo Hand (talk) 19:00, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Edits to History of Microsoft Flight Simulator
I have the simulator. The Cessna 208 Caravan is a default aircraft. The information may be unsourced (I can find a source if you need me to), but this information is correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.142.156.15 (talk) 21:01, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not saying it's incorrect, it needs to be sourced. Mlpearc (open channel) 21:52, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Roger Waters
Hi. Was there any discussion about the instruments played by Waters in his article that I'm not aware of ? I'm asking you this because your edit made no sense, since the instruments he plays are not subject to wikipedians' opinions, which means it's not necessary to discuss anything about it. What you could have said was "there is no source", and if this is the case, you know I'll find dozens. So, please, clarify this to me. Clausgroi (talk) 01:54, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Clausgroi Not that I know of, the instrument field in the infobox is for the main instrument the artist plays, any secondary instruments should be brought up in prose. If you would like to add/remove any from the infobox you should gain consensus on the talk page. Mlpearc (open channel) 01:59, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Do you have a source to confirm that information ? Without any, that's just your opinion. From experience, I reckon the "instrument" field on infoboxes is for every relevant instrument played by the musician. Sometimes, even minor (not so relevant) instruments are cited on that field in some articles. Take a look, for instance, at the infoboxes on Mike Oldfield, John Lennon and Geddy Lee. Roger Waters again
I don't know why you archived our conversation if it wasn't finished. You still haven't presented me the evidence for your claim. Let's do this: I'll give you 3 days to present it. If you can't do it, I'll assume you just made that rule up and will add "acoustic guitar and trumpet" to the instrument section on the infobox again. Clausgroi (talk) 17:36, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't have a claim, I just pointed you to the MOS of the instruments parameter in infoboxes, nothing more to discuss. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 17:44, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- You did: "the instrument field in the infobox is for the main instrument the artist plays, any secondary instruments should be brought up in prose." That's what we call a claim. The MOS says something a little bit different: "Instruments listed in the infobox should be limited to only those that the artist is primarily known for using." Every Pink Floyd fan knows Roger also plays the acoustic guitar, even thought he plays the bass more frequently. I see no reason not to add that to the infobox. Please, participate in the discussion on the article's talk page. Clausgroi (talk) 01:53, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Clausgroi: I do not want to have a discussion about this, if you want to add or remove an instrument(s) you must discuss your changes on the article's talk page, changes without discussion will be reverted. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 02:01, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- What an odd thing. I could swear I said exactly that in my last comment. Actually, I remember quite vividly politely inviting you to express your opinion there instead of here. Oh, well, I must be ageing. Clausgroi (talk) 02:09, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
