Holiday World page
Good morning -
I saw a tweet that the Holiday World & Splashin' Safari page may be deleted. What can be done to remedy this?
I am communications director for the park and have kept my distance from the page, as I understand companies should not edit "their" page. That said, I'm a former (old-school) journalist and would be happy to help provide sources plus clean up any errors and edit back the overly detailed information.
Thank you, Paula Werne

16 and pregnant
I was wondering how to change the page for 16 and pregnant considering the fact that it has not been updated from the past episode — Preceding unsigned comment added by Valeriegirl18 (talk • contribs) 19:35, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Not sure exactly what you mean, I'm not familiar with that page but, to make changes is pretty much the same process as you use to leave this message, you click the appropriate edit link to the section where you want to make your change, change the text in the edit area that you desire then click "Show preview" and when the page re-loads and the changes you made look OK to you then (be sure to leave an edit summary (a brief explanation of your changes)) click the "Save pages" button and it's done. If the changes are substantial you might first post your changes and why you think the changes need to be made this process is called consensus any claims need to be verified and referenced. you can find more information at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia. Good luck, if you have any other questions please ask. Cheers Mlpearc (powwow) 20:43, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
New Pages update
Hey FlightTime/Archive 10 :). A quick update on how things are going with the New Page Triage/New Pages Feed project. As the enwiki page notes, the project is divided into two chunks: the "list view" (essentially an updated version of Special:NewPages) and the "article view", a view you'll be presented with when you open up individual articles that contains a toolbar with lots of options to interact with the page - patrolling it, adding maintenance tags, nominating it for deletion, so on.
On the list view front, we're pretty much done! We tried deploying it to enwiki, in line with our Engagement Strategy on Wednesday, but ran into bugs and had to reschedule - the same happened on Thursday :(. We've queued a new deployment for Monday PST, and hopefully that one will go better. If it does, the software will be ready to play around with and test by the following week! :).
On the article view front, the developers are doing some fantastic work designing the toolbar, which we're calling the "curation bar"; you can see a mockup here. A stripped-down version of this should be ready to deploy fairly soon after the list view is; I'm afraid I don't have precise dates yet. When I have more info, or can unleash everyone to test the list view, I'll let you know :). As always, any questions to the talkpage for the project or mine. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:33, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
About my changes to Led Zeppelin.
I was under the impression that associated acts refers to bands that feature any member of the band in question in it. That's why I put those associated acts in there. I guess I'm wrong?? And I added Bonham to the picture caption because he's actually in the picture, just like Plant and Page. Why did you revert that? Akdrummer75 (talk) 02:28, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- As the editnotice states, any changes to an established infobox require discussion first, you may discuss your changes on the talk page and see if everyone agrees with your changes, any changes added without a discussion will be reverted. Adding John's name was just an oversight on my part, sorry Mlpearc (powwow) 02:37, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- P.S. John doesn't seem to be at his drum set, so that's why his name is not in the caption. Mlpearc (powwow) 02:39, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Velvet Revolver edit

New Page Triage prototype released
Hey Mlpearc! We've finally finished the NPT prototype and deployed it on enwiki. We'll be holding an office hours session on the 16th at 21:00 in #wikimedia-office to show it off, get feedback and plot future developments - hope to see you there! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 03:44, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

New Page Triage/New Pages Feed
Hey all :). A notification that the prototype for the New Pages Feed is now live on enwiki! We had to briefly take it down after an unfortunate bug started showing up, but it's now live and we will continue developing it on-site.
The page can be found at Special:NewPagesFeed. Please, please, please test it and tell us what you think! Note that as a prototype it will inevitably have bugs - if you find one not already mentioned at the talkpage, bring it up and I'm happy to carry it through to the devs. The same is true of any additions you can think of to the software, or any questions you might have - let me know and I'll respond.

Joe Martinez
Joe Martinez is a 1993 Graduate of Barstow High School, not only a product of Cameron Elementary School and Barstow Junior High... all of which are in Barstow California. If you feel that his is not from Barstow because he was born in Apple Valley, then neither is T. J. Houshmandzadeh. Please reinstate my revisions. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JaiDubbz (talk • contribs) 04:08, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- No problem but the reference you added to your claim did not say anything about him being from barstow, in fact it mentioned Lake Elsinore which is about a hundred miles south west of barstow, and Mr. Martinez page says he's from Apple valley which is about seventy miles closer. If you want to add him to Notable people from Barstow you must find a reliable source that confirms he is. Do not re-add this claim without proper references or it will be removed as vandalism. Mlpearc (powwow) 05:03, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your assistance, however I am a bit confused by the fact that most references from "notable people" do not reference a connection to Barstow as well (i.e., Stand Ridgway, Jeanne Crain, etc.) The reference I had given for Mr. Martinez most clearly demonstrated his notoriety. If you truly read through his page, Joe A. Martinez, you would have seen a reference from the local paper, The Desert Dispatch (http://www.desertdispatch.com/sports/-1531--.html), that discussed him as a "Barstow native". Understand that I am not trying to attack you, nor vandalize the site, but it is frustrating that my work would be removed without being thoroughly investigated. Lets work together to get this right, not tare into each others efforts. Thank you for your attention — Preceding unsigned comment added by JaiDubbz (talk • contribs) 12:58, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, as you state the local paper says he's from Barstow, then use that paper as your reference/source, locate that article you speak of and use that link in you reference. Notoriety is not the issue, that has been established, he has his own page, which states he's from Apple Valley which I know is just a stones throw from Barstow, maybe he lived in Barstow for some time. You mentioned 2 schools in Barstow, do any of those schools list him as a student ? If his own article says he was born in Apple Valley then that's where he's from. If he was educated or skilled in Barstow then if mentioned it must be in that context. As for the other names from Barstow, they haven't been challenged or address, if you find any claim within Wikipedia as an user you have the right to question that claim, this is what the talk pages are for. Hope this clears it up a little for you. Cheers. Mlpearc (powwow) 17:46, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- As the link you gave above does state "Barstow native" you might want to start a discussion on his talk page about this subject it seems his page might be in error. The only other thing I can think of which would explain the confusion is his parents lived in Barstow and for what ever reason had their child in Apple Valley. Mlpearc (powwow) 17:55, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
You are exactly right, his mother, a Barstow native, gave birth to him in Apple Valley, other than that, he was raised in Barstow for the next 18yrs until college. I'll switch the reference. Thanks for your help and clarification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JaiDubbz (talk • contribs) 01:13, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, I love it when a plan comes together , actually this is exactly what experienced editors "should" do, just work together and get it right. It has been a pleasure JaiDubbz, I hope we get a chance again to work together. Cheers. Mlpearc (powwow) 03:26, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

RfA nom
Rcsprinter123 would like to nominate you to become an administrator. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact Rcsprinter123 to accept or decline the nomination. A page has been created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Mlpearc. If you accept the nomination, you must state and sign your acceptance. You may also choose to make a statement and/or answer the optional questions to supplement the information your nominator has given. Once you are satisfied with the page, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so. |
- Thank you very much Rcsprinter123 for your confidence in my tenure here at Wikipedia. I would also like to thank you for moving this discussion from the email you sent me to on wiki per my request. To be totally honest I was recently considering an RfA, during this discussion I was having with myself, I was approached about throwing my hat in the 2012 CUOS appointment ring, which I have done. If appointed I would like to spend a substantial amount of time concentrating on this "new world" and after some amount of time I would consider opening an RfA. If I'm not appointed, after a month or so to regroup and re-align my ducks, I would consider a run. Again thank you for your offer, and maybe in the near future we can get together and work on a plan. Mlpearc Phone (Powwow) 18:41, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Actually just a quick question...
I read here: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox that "This applies to articles, categories, templates, talk page discussions, and user pages." but it didn't mention anything about "This includes using Special:EmailUser to recruit users for your own project."
Is there any documentation you can refer me to that says I can't use the Special:EmailUser function? I'm not doubting this, I just wanted to read more into it to find a better way to share my project with other people.
Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sharrukin josephson (talk • contribs) 06:24, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Missed on a technicality
Hi Mlpearc. I just saw the note about the CU and OS appointments and the additional note about Oversighting tests. It looks like you were selected as an Oversighter, but then didn't get it because the tools are not completely independent. That's a bummer, but I'd like to offer my congratulations anyway as it seems the committee and !voters had faith in you. And since I'm here, I'd also like to thank you for helping users at WP:ACC. That's very generous of you. Kind regards. 64.40.57.81 (talk) 07:58, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, it was disappointing. At the time just before the CU/OS round was to open and I was encouraged to toss my hat into the OS ring, I was for the first time seriously leaning towards posting my first RfA. Now that this round is over I think I'll continue to get my ducks in order and prepare to do just that. Again thank you very much for your kind words and support, I just wish I knew to whom I'm thanking (you might want to get that IP OS'd ). Mlpearc (powwow) 08:20, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
"I just wish I knew to whom I'm thanking"
I'm just a plain old IP. Staying an IP keeps my edits honest because they're looked at closely. It also gives me the same perspective that the general public has of Wikipedia because I'm not treated like a veteran user. I prefer it that way.
- Regarding an RfA, I think you'd make a very fine admin and if IPs could !vote, I'd certainly support you. You might want to get input from a few of the people listed at WP:DOIHAVEASHOT before you run. I'd also mention what I told Ryan here, specifically the part about RfA not being a reflection of the candidate, but of how critical the community has become. It can be a bit of a shock if you're not prepared for it. You might also ask for Ryan's perspective, as he just went through an RfA. Anyhoo, I'll wish you luck in case you decide to run. All the best. 64.40.54.119 (talk) 16:25, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

File moves
Your moves of the Extinct Birds files are unnecessary—the previous names are descriptive, accurate, and unproblematic—and moving these files is problematic: the names should harmonise with the other images from this book (on Commons; this principle and that of not altering good names are stated by the suggestions here and guideline on Commons), and should match the names of the deleted files on Commons (which will eventually be restored, leaving the copies here to be deleted) and earlier names (for convenience, in looking at old revisions). If you have no objections, I will ask an admin to move them back; otherwise, I will bring them to requested moves. —innotata 21:43, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- I did not move those files because of descriptive, inaccurate, or problematic issues I just thought the smaller filenames would be better and the descriptive nature of the filenames were transferred to the file descriptions. I have no problems with what ever you deem is better. I apologize if I created extra work, that was not my intentions. Mlpearc (powwow)(Review me !) 21:54, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, actually, I just realised I never moved the files to the (slightly more complicated still) original Commons names due to earlier problems, will do that. —innotata 22:08, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- In general, you should avoid making moves like these—things like the title of a book an image is from are always good to include in a file name (though it would be good to use a different format, this one is used for a lot of files in several different projects, and good enough), and generic names like those you chose are likely to end up conflicting with file names on Commons. —innotata 22:21, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your poke and insight. Mlpearc (powwow)(Review me !) 22:25, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
RFA / Good luck, and a minor suggestion
Hi Mlpearc, I was very happy to finally get the chance to put my support down on your RFA. Let's hope it is a positive and straightforward experience for you.
On a separate note, when I came here to leave this message, the formatting for the part of this page that I'm currently typing on seems to be wonky - I'm using a "big screen" computer right now, and I still had to scroll across to find the right border. Heaven only knows what it would look like on the smaller screens I usually work with. Perhaps some fine tuning is in order? Risker (talk) 23:41, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, I also hope it is a good experience. I had some one convey the same experience with this page, it looks perfectly fine on my laptop but obviously I need to do some .css work, or maybe it's time to re-paint and move the furniture Thank you very much for your support it is appreciated. RFA / Re. My RfA
Thank you for your participation at my RfA. I appreciate your sentiments.
Just as a side note, though — and I'm sorry if I come across as rude for posting here. I'm not sure if you've ever seen me around, but I've been editing Wikipedia now for over five years (more than 80% of that time under this account), I've amassed over 3400 edits (meager by comparison to most administrator candidates), and I'm very familiar with what an administrator does. I've also participated in numerous RfAs before (including your current RfA, where I have voiced support for your acquiring adminship). I'm not sure if you thought I was a newcomer to Wikipedia or that I have very little clue as to what adminship entails, but it seems as if that's the impression you'd gotten from reading through my RfA. I don't mean to badger you, but I just wanted to clear things up in case you were unfamiliar with me prior.
In any case, I appreciate your interest in my candidacy, and good luck with yours. =) Master&Expert (Talk) 06:26, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- Your comment here is neither rude or badgering. You are correct, your name is not familiar to me, which has nothing to do with my NOTNOW at your RfA. My standing on my !vote is solely due to 3+k edits in five years, I can't help but to think low edit count and low activity levels, which is why I choose NOTNOW. I would however like to commend you on your nomination statement, refreshing to see such individualism and a rebel flare to it. I also commend you keeping your RfA live and taking it all in as a learning and where you stand experience. I do hope to see another stand after the proper length of time. I do thank you for your support at my stand and hope to have the chance to return the support. Cheers. Mlpearc (powwow) 10:05, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ahaha thanks. My favourite part of your response = "rebel flare". It reminds me of a song by a very famous music artist; it also conjures up images of a rock musician with a mohawk hairstyle (which I've never cared for, personally).
- I'm actually very surprised at how pleasant my RfA has been. It's interesting too because I'm basically failing it, and yet I really do enjoy getting the opportunity to hear from the community and to interact with them on how to better myself in my endeavours on this site (as well as getting a feel for some of the people on this site, who may or may not have known of me beforehand). I still do want to become an administrator someday — I've thought about it and I now feel much more confident that I could handle the role diligently if it were entrusted to me. I had a feeling it wouldn't succeed if I were to submit it around this time, but I'm glad I at least took a chance and faced down my fears of the process, which really turned out much better than I thought it would.
- It's been great talking to you. Take care, and I hope your RfA is successful. =) Master&Expert (Talk) 10:42, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- It has been a pleasure talking to you as well, and I can relate to "took a chance and faced down my fears of the process" as that is the very reason it's taken this long for me to run. I have found that a RfA is much more reliable and informitive than an editor review. There's a couple things you've mentioned that brought back some memories, I too admire a little rebellious attitude and lifestyle and I remember my eldest brother showed up at home sometime in the late 60's with his attitude and I'll never forget my mother's attitude that same day . I also hope we run into each other more often (+1 on the watchlist) and if there's anything I can or try to help, you have my number. Cheers and happy editing. Replaceable fair use File:Andy Manson (luthier).jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Andy Manson (luthier).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ryan Vesey 16:09, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

RFA / Your RFA
I'm so glad you ran! I supported you and I know you'll make a great admin! Best, Electric Catfish 23:44, 5 August 2012 (UTC).

ACC
Poke, poke. It appears ACC seems to have gotten a little more active. Its up to you but I would love to help. BTW, coming back from my exteded leave, I noticed your RfA and decided to support based on what I have seen you do and our last interaction with each other. Good luck on the last few days of it.—cyberpower ChatOnline 11:04, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'll have to comment here too. I considered getting active in ACC, but the process for getting involved was too involved so I stopped. How hectic is it? Is assistance needed? Ryan Vesey 12:42, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hectic is not a word I would ever use to describe ACC IMO there's no better place to hang out. I don't believe it has become more active, ATM it rather slow. The process is easy, first you must fulfill the basic requirement, you must identify to the Wikimedia Foundation. Once your identified just follow these instructions. As I mentioned ACC is not backlogged (unless you're a CheckUser :P) with request or users. As Cyberpower678 probably knows but, Ryan Vesey you may not, I am but one Admin of twenty-two, so I can not guarantee acceptance. Also Ryan because of your heightened involvement in my RfA I'll have to recuse myself in your application because of COI issues, if you choose to apply. Good luck to you both. Cheers, Mlpearc (powwow) 16:07, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Is that an indirect not now?—cyberpower ChatOnline 17:58, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Absolutely not, I'm just stating what I observe, I'm kinda busy with other stuff and probably will not have much time to review ACC requests, but they're are many other Admins available to do that. Mlpearc (powwow) 18:16, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

RFA
Hi,
Per WP:REFACTOR I would prefer my comment in the neutral section not to be preceded by your latest. I do not want readers who do not check timestamps to assume I was responding to your reply to Dennis. Thanks. Leaky Caldron 19:19, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

New Pages newsletter
Hey all :)
A couple of new things.
First, you'll note that all the project titles have now changed to the Page Curation prefix, rather than having the New Pages Feed prefix. This is because the overarching project name has changed to Page Curation; the feed is still known as New Pages Feed, and the Curation Toolbar is still the Curation Toolbar. Hopefully this will be the last namechange ;p.
On the subject of the Curation Toolbar (nice segue, Oliver!) - it's now deployed on Wikipedia. Just open up any article in the New Pages Feed and it should appear on the right. It's still a beta version - bugs are expected - and we've got a lot more work to do. But if you see something going wrong, or a feature missing, drop me a note or post on the project talkpage and I'll be happy to help :). We'll be holding two office hours sessions to discuss the tool and improvements to it; the first is at 19:00 UTC on 14 August, and the second at 23:00 on the 15th. Both will be in #wikimedia-office as always. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 15:14, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
RFA / A friendly offer
Hello,
I opposed your RfA based, at least in part, on the shortcomings I see with Don Branker. I would not say that my opposition is strong - as I said, I think that you have a lot to offer to the encyclopedia. If you become an administrator now, I wish you well and look forward to collaborating with you in a friendly fashion. If you don't make it this time, I look forward to supporting another RfA in maybe six months time. Your willingness to take seriously the concerns of those who oppose in good faith speaks well for you.
I would like to offer you a peace offering: I offer to work with you to improve the article on Don Branker, to make sure that it has good quality references and is written reasonably well. What say you?
I noticed on the user page for your significant other that you created an "81" image that indicates to me you are probably interested in motorcycles. I've written three motorcycle-related articles lately, as a result of reconnecting with an old friend who is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Let me know what you think:
Dudley Perkins (motorcyclist) | Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra Classic | Jeffrey Bleustein
Take care. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:24, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I'd like to work with someone on the Don Branker article. I have little experience working with other editors on a planned project. As far as motorcycles I do not have much knowledge but will look at your pages. P.S. Thank you for your involvement at my RfA. Mlpearc Public (Powwow) 05:36, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
RFA on hold
Hello, in view of the persuasive arguments made by each side and the marginal vote totals, I've placed your RfA on hold pending a bureaucrat discussion (linked from the top of the RfA). Hopefully, we'll be able to get this sorted out in a reasonable prompt fashion, and I appreciate your patience.
Regards, Pakaran 19:07, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
No problem. Thank you for the poke and your "but I'm of course willing to be persuaded otherwise" fairness. Mlpearc (powwow) 19:12, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- I hate to say it Mlpearc, but it looks as though your RfA is likely to be closed as unsuccessful. If that's the case, then I'm sorry you didn't get the tools this time. But just keep on doing what you're doing, focus on improving some of the concerns raised in the oppose column, and in the future I think you'd breeze through relatively easily.
- Good luck. =) Master&Expert (Talk) 23:52, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, the only decision the 'crats have is to close as unsuccessful. I'm still not sure if I want to re-apply, but I probably will. I want to thank you for your support at my RfA but mostly your support here on my talk page. You are a very nice and compassionate person, I wish you had more edits under your belt as that would of changed my !vote at yours. I think we should take the next six months helping each other stay on track with the issues we both have and maybe we can help insure a successful 2nd request, just a thought, I do think it's a good one. Cheers Mlpearc (powwow) 01:24, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sure! And thank you for your sentiments, I appreciate them.
- If you ever do re-apply, know that you'll have my support. Master&Expert (Talk) 05:59, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

I supported and nothing would have changed my mind. However, RfA is something of a lottery and if I were a 'crat I would probably have no option but to close this very close call as not successful. Take solace that with 1,500 or so admins and probably more than double that number of failed attempts, there have only ever been SIX previous 'crat chats to decide on a consensus - so let's hope your #7 will be a lucky number for the next attempt. Do take the opposers' comments on board, address them, and do consider trying again in about 6 months - I might even nominate you myself :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kudpung (talk • contribs) 08:24, August 12, 2012

RFA / Your RfA
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I went to your RfA a minute ago to support you, but it has been closed pending discussion. I'm sorry I missed it. Best of luck with it. SlimVirgin (talk)
- Thank you SV, maybe next time. Mlpearc (powwow) 21:09, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
RFA / Just wanted to say thanks
Hi Mlpearc. I just stopped by to thank you for your support of our project. I have always found you to be polite, helpful and courteous and I'm thankful for your participation in our project. And I just wanted to remind you that sometimes the community can be more critical than it should be. Thanks again for everything you've done for the community. Best regards. 64.40.54.58 (talk) 11:04, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, Whoever you are Mlpearc (powwow) 21:08, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
RFA closed
This RfA now clearly does not show a consensus to promote, however it's quite clear that you're very close to the "line" that the community has in mind, and I see no reason why you wouldn't be successful if you take a few months, consider concerns of opposes (particular regarding treatment of new editors), and then run again. I do regret the delay in closure, and hope that, whether you decide to start another RfA, you continue participation in the project. Pakaran 11:16, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yep, I think that if you address the valid concerns voiced by the opposers, a second run in a few months time should succeed - I look forward to being able to support you again. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:31, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- What Boing! said. The opposers did express legitimate concerns, although I think it would have been trivial for you to address them. I'm quite confident that if you bone up a little on the points they expressed, and tried again in 6 months, you will have the bit. It was close enough this time that the 'crats had to open a discussion on it and debate it a bit. If I can help you work toward the bit in any way, let me know. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 13:31, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you all, I have already taken the concerns into account and taking them to heart. A future run is still under consideration. Mlpearc (powwow) 16:27, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
RFA
Hi
Apologies for not getting back to you on the question you raised about my notes - unfortunately I had to go away unexpectedly and so was unable to respond. Indeed, as delirious says, it was only a matter of the edits being to the article itself and not to the infobox, which was what your edit summary stated. As I said in my comments, the automated systems need some tweaking in regard to edit summaries, in many cases enough options are not given in the default summaries, or one small click to change a notice or edit in TW or AWB causes massive changes in the automated edit summaries they place.
I realise it is disheartening to get these sort of pettinesses during an RFA and, as you rightly pointed out, these are the sort of matters that should have been brought up in editor reviews rather than here, giving ample chance for one to correct any issues and produce a good few months of edits showing something that was mentioned was either incorrect or had been addressed. Something can be said for the ineffectiveness of editor reviews, as I am sure you are aware almost anyone can review another editor, and it is not often that multiple reviews are submitted on each review. Perhaps that is something that needs pushing forwards, if we are to have effective admins, good candidates, such as yourself, will fall over petty and small-minded obstacles such as these at RFA - matters which can easily be surmounted if one is aware of them in the first place.
Once again, apologies for not replying to you on the RFA page, and I hope that the 'crats choose to give you the mop am disappointed they chose not to give you the mop. Chaosdruid (talk) 04:25, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Please do not worry about the time factor, not a problem. Thanx for your explanation. I think I'll do OK at a second run. Mlpearc (powwow) 04:57, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
