Why I nominated your page for deletion

[edit]

When I saw the page, I did a Google search for "The Story of Za Par". I found no evidence of anyone else even mentioning this book. Since I could not find any evidence of this book's existence, I nominated it for speedy deletion. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 16:37, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I see. Sorry. That was a real book, although it is a very obscure book. Anyway the book was a rip-off of Marco Polo's book and was only being kept around to see if we could put a stop, with the help of some students, to the cheap fakes that were being sent to libraries by a group of con-artists who were hoping to make a quick buck. Most of the details are rather hard to read, as the book was scribbled on by a bunch of teenage punks who have dropped out of school and are linked to the con-artists, and they somehow managed to get past the cameras. They nearly ripped the book in half and we lost some pages. They were only put to a stop by somebody hearing noises and alerting security, who promptly rushed down to discover the punks. They have to do a long period of community service. We had to use duct tape to hold the book together but we just can't make out most of the work, as most of it was lost when the teens tore a large part of the book apart. I see. In any case, the book most certainly does not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline, and therefore does not qualify for an article. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 17:03, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for that. So when this book becomes famous it can be recreated. Is that what it's saying? Just did not know about that sort of stuff. Flat-World-Day-God (talk) 17:10, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Right. The book would have to be written about in depth in reliable, independent sources for it to qualify for an article. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 17:11, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see. I'm rather sorry for making an article that was not up to scratch. You all could make rather good librarians one day. Flat-World-Day-God (talk) 17:35, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
