I don't think they make wine at all, just consulting. I'm not sure about the winery-stub tag. AgneCheese/Wine 02:49, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Username
Hello. I'm sorry to be a nuisance, and it's regretable that nobody contacted you about this earlier in your Wikipedia career, but I'm concerned that your username might violate our username policy, specifically:
Misleading usernames include names that:
- Imply the user is an admin or other official figure on Wikipedia, or of the Wikimedia Foundation
Steward is an official functionary on Wikimedia sites; a flag is a set of permissions. Together these words almost lead me to believe that you were an official here.
I will post details of this to the admins noticeboard, but you might want to consider unilaterally requesting a name change at WP:CHU. Thank you for your time. --kingboyk 21:07, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

For your tremendous effort and dedication to the wine project AgneCheese/Wine 04:08, 16 April 2007 (UTC) |
Hey Flag,
We have a fair share of disagreements, I nonetheless value and greatly appreciation your work with the Wine Project. You are a tremendous asset to the wine project and your dedication to improving wine articles has already had a dramatic affect on the overall quality of our wine articles. While we may have different perspectives on some things, there is great value in that and the resulting discussions. So again, thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to your future contributions. :) AgneCheese/Wine 04:08, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

WID Packages and Wiki Winos
I think that is a great idea and I'm having fun with the Bordeaux package. Would you be interested in being the next Wiki Wino and picking a package of 2-3 articles that you would like to be the April 29th WID? If you are interested, visit the questionnaire at Wikipedia:WikiProject Wine/Newsletter/Wiki-Winos and post your responses with WID suggestion at User talk:Agne27/Wiki-Winos. Thanks! Newsletter stuff
It is a pretty "low tech" procedure. Essentially I start with the previous newsletter, change the date, update the stub killing totals and write up on any recent news and notes of interest. Scharks set up the format and coding, so I try not to mess with that since I wouldn't know how to fix it. :p For the talk page post, I do simple cut and past from the last talk page note. I change the wiki link for "In this addition" to the recent newsletter and do a brief summary of what this edition is about. Then it is just a matter of manually pasting it on all wine project member's page. It can be a bit tedious so if you can think of any improvements, feel free. :) AgneCheese/Wine 02:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
how interesting...
I thought that side note about the French term was very clever. I've been trying to think of a single good word for getting sucked into the vortex of Wikipedia through disambigs. You know, you start at Wine and end up at Dan Rather or something. Is there a meta article on it already, or a word? If not, butiner would be awesome in my humble opinion. VanTucky 22:29, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
newsletter
Hey, just wondered why I didn't get the Wine newsletter on my talk page. Did the project decide not to send it out? VanTucky 23:53, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
How does this article rate a "B"? There is almost no information there. Are you classifying solely on the basis of number of bytes? That's not a good idea for Plants articles, since they may contain large taxoboxes, lists, and templates with no substantial content. --EncycloPetey 22:59, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- But it doesn't have "a majority of material needed for a comprehensive article" in terms of coverage for WP:PLANTS, so I would rate it as "Start". --EncycloPetey 23:13, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
WP Plants banner
PLease note that article within the scope of WP Banksia already have the WP Plants project incorporated, including assessment so dont need the replication with the plants banner. Gnangarra 05:58, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Stub to start
I have to be honest, I'm glad you are reassessing some of the articles for the Wikipedia Food and Drink Project, but I do not agree with some of the cases that you are taking from stub to start. Many of those articles have no headings, lack citations, and are just multiple paragraphs that sort of make no sense. I will not be going back to change then, but I'd like to see you check the criterea and make sure you are making proper edits. Giving an article an unwarranted start will keep those who work on stubs from paying attention to those articles which really need a boost.--Christopher Tanner, CCC 04:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll go with agreeing that maybe adding the tags to the articles at start levels, such as citation (and I think there is one for headings as well) is a good idea. Like I said, I'm nto going to change them, I just know our project, although active, is not incredibly active which I am sure you have seen at times in the wine project. I was a member of both for awhile, but as I am a chef I saw more desire to support, promote and expand the Food and Drink project. I have a question for you, I am the person who works on our newsletter and I noticed you used a bot to deliver your, how does one go about doing that. I've been individually posting ours and our membership has been shooting up the last couple months and it is becoming tedious to post it this way, while trying to keep up with the Food Portal and other items I work on.--Christopher Tanner, CCC 19:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Apologies to everyone for this notification being sent out so late, events in real life prevented me from distributing it at the time, and the Wine Project's had a bit of a lull during the Northern Hemsiphere summer. But as the nights draw in, activity should pick up again, and hopefully the next Newsletter will arrive a little more quickly....
The next few weeks are the perfect time to take photos of grapes in the Northern Hemisphere - get your cameras out! FlagSteward 16:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
FAD assessments
Wow, 1000 articles? That's . ....a herculean task. Yeah, I didn't want to overstep myself and rate the importance of the articles. I'm not so great at distinguishing them yet. And I'll keep the tag about the photo in mind. I saw it on one article before. Thanks for telling me this! Applejaxs 02:01, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
{{unreferenced}}
{{Unreferenced}} should be used only on articles that have no sources (references or external links). The {{Refimprove}} template is appropriate for articles with some sources but not enough. {{Unreferencedsect}} , {{Primarysources}}, or {{Citations}} may also work well for your purposes. Thanks--BirgitteSB 17:42, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, actually our cuisine group, like all other work groups, are nearly dead. Feel to do whatever you'd like (from food wikiproject?) (Wikimachine 14:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC))
You contributed to the discussion last month on this topic. I do believe they should be separate entries, but in order to be correctly so, we certainly need to add the relevant varieties instead of just talking spp. Are you still interested in this topic?--Tallard 03:15, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

We've missed you! :) AgneCheese/Wine 00:24, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- As a side, when things settle for you, would you be interested in "marshaling" the wine articles through the GA process? By that I mean, picking the articles that you think are GA ready and nurturing them through the nomination and review process. I will always be willing to help but the added workload of doing it mostly by myself was a bit of a burn out. AgneCheese/Wine 11:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for improving the template. We needed that. :) AgneCheese/Wine 08:14, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Sources for Zierfandler
Hey Flag, when you get an opportunity could you take a look at the Zierfandler article. I noticed the note about it turning red before harvest for DYK but didn't realize that it was missing a source. I checked Jancis' Vines & Wines and Oxford for it but didn't find it. I did find a note from the Wines of Austria site but it not as explicit of a source as I would like. If you get an opportunity, would you add your source so that it is all clear for DYK. AgneCheese/Wine 22:09, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
