Your RFA...
...has really gotten off on the wrong foot. At this point I might suggest a withdrawing to regroup - sort out the username issue, take a month or two to beef up your mainspace contribs, maybe cycle back on the huggling a bit and go from there. Just my honest opinion! –xeno (talk) 15:26, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not going to back down from criticism. The RfA still has ~6.8 days to go. Really I don't think I'll pass now, but you never know. — ^.^ [citation needed]
- Fair enough - but this may reflect poorly upon you if you stand again in the future. My main reason for coming here was that I've seen too many a good-intentioned contributor driven off by the brutal RFA process. Hopefully this won't re-occur here. –xeno (talk) 15:37, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Also, I've changed my sig to use my alternate account's name. — Happy[[User talk:|Man]](^.^) 15:48, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, I have responded at your RfA, while I'm still opposing for now, I look forward to you coming back very soon. Please take on board the advise suggested and i will happily support in the future. — Realist2 14:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- You might want to poke in at Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard#RFA for Foxy Loxy and comment. –xeno (talk) 15:37, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi
I think you have the best username I've seen yet. :) jj137 (talk) 21:31, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Adoption
I bet I'm the easiest adoptee you've ever had. :) I ended up teaching myself how to edit and navigate Wiki and am feeling fairly comfortable now. Thanks again for taking me under your wing, and good luck on becoming an administrator. --*momoricks* (talk) 12:24, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. Glad I could offer moral support anyway. :-) Foxy Loxy Pounce! 12:26, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Re: Your RFA
I think I owe you an apology. I should have restarted your RFA myself, rather than advising you to do it yourself. I didn't think people would harass you over restarting it. If I could turn back time, I'd do it differently. --Deskana (talk) 23:24, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. It would be great if I could pass, but odds are, with so many opposes about restarting, this is going to be a massive pileon, its already 33/28/4 so I only have a very slim majority and nowhere near the 70%-80% needed. It'd be great if I could somehow show that a restart isn't a bad decision and had consensus, but I'l get even more opposes for badgering the opposers. Some are opposing solely due to the restart being irregular which really gets me. Well thanks for the apology, it's good to know that you care. Do you have any advice on what to do? Happy editing! Your RfA was unsuccessful
I am sorry to inform you that I have closed your RfA as unsuccessful. I hope you are not too disheartened and will take on board the comments made by those opposing and will consider running again in the future when you feel you have addressed them. WJBscribe (talk) 03:10, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Bates method RfC's
Hi Foxy Loxy (good name, I liked that story.) Could you take a look at the tactic Seeyou (talk · contribs) is now employing, contacting apparently random users and asking them to rate on a scale of 0 to 10 the arguments presented in three (unofficial) RfC's on the Bates method talk page? That seems a bit questionable to me. PSWG1920 (talk) 03:25, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'll have a look now. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 03:29, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for commenting. My main concern was that Seeyou was asking for arguments to be rated on a scale. BTW, I am thinking of nominating Bates method for a Good Article. The only things it needs now in my opinion are images (discussed on the talk page), and stability. PSWG1920 (talk) 04:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- I suspect you could get images for it (and if you can't, I think it makes that criteria not count), but as for stability, well, I don't know how you'd do that. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 04:24, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, there are images in Bates' now public domain book which could be used. For me it's just a matter of having the patience to learn how to add an image. PSWG1920 (talk) 04:31, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

(outdent)If the image is public domain, I suggest you have a look at the very easy to use upload page at Wikimedia Commons (the free wikimedia image repository). Also, this page details how to use the upload form. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 04:39, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I added one image; I get the sense from the talk page that the others I was thinking of adding would be controversial, whereas I am hoping to reach stability. Do you think that the current Bates method article, if it were to remain stable, would have a chance at passing a Good Article nomination? The warning templates at the top might be a put-off, but they are outdated in my opinion, and in fact my thinking is that we need the kind of thorough independent review that process offers in order to perhaps remove them. PSWG1920 (talk) 20:11, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey Foxy
Hey!
Thanks for the comment about my username, when I noticed my original choice wasn't being used, I decided to usurp. I'm sorry about your RfA but it's nice to know it was less snowball oppose, and that people were bringing up much more valid arguments this time. Though the rubbish about 'starting a new rfa to garner more support' was ridiculous. I'll be supporting you again when you re-apply =)
Cheers,
Neuro√Logic 05:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thankyou for your kind words, I said that as I was looking as some userboxen and one said "...has adopted Neurosynapse", and I realized it was you! Happy editing! Foxy Loxy Pounce! 08:36, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
RfA thanks
Hello Fl. Thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for Adminship, which was successful with 111 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutral. I have to say I am more than a little overwhelmed by this result and I greatly appreciate your trust in me. I will do my best to use the tools wisely. Thanks again. Regards. On bots
I see the programming code for bots, but how do you use that code to get your bot to do something? do you need a special web browser or software? does a monobook have a place? I am trying to design a bot based on this:
(stubfinder code)→Stub tag=yes+stub=no→stub tag removed Does not operate if subpage called run does not say true. --Ipatrol (talk) 19:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- My Wikipedia bot runs on a command line version of the PHP web language, a free download from http://php.net , the Monobook skin is irrelevant to the operation of my bot as it uses the API instead. To see the en.wikipedia API for yourself, see http://wiki.riteme.site/w/api.php. The framework I use to run my bot (its the file sxwiki.class.php) is based on the SxWiki project. I hope this information helps you. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 08:39, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Xymmax RfA
I'd like to take a minute to let you know that I appreciate your support in my recently-closed RfA, which passed with a count of 56 in support, 7 in opposition, and 2 neutrals. I'll certainly try to justify your faith by using the tools wisely. Happy editing, and thanks again! Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 23:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Rfa Spam
Thank you so much for your support on my RFA, which today passed unanimously. I will do my best to make sure that I don't let any of you down. If you ever need any help with anything, feel free to ask me, i'll be happy to. Thanks again--Jac16888 (talk) 17:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lacey Mosley
I believe this was closed incorrectly. There were no valid points made, citing guidelines, that suggest this should be kept. None of the artlces many issues, including notability and series WP:BLP uissues have been addressed --neon white talk 11:05, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- It was listed on the AfD page for quite a while and nobody voted delete but I would not object to you reverting my closure and refreshing WP:AfD/Old (click this link and mathbot will relist it I think once its reopened, or alternatively, list it on that page manually) to get it listed and re-reviewed by someone else, but I don't know if you would receive a different result. Happy editing! Foxy Loxy Pounce! 11:23, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I think a better way might be to edit out all the unsourced info to a stub and see what sources can be found, then relist later if it doesnt improve. --neon white talk 23:36, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Xgrid GA Review
Hi Foxy Loxy! I was just wondering if you had plans to address my 2nd opinion comments on the Xgrid GA review? I placed them on the review page on the 17th, and hadn't seen any action for a while, so I wasn't sure if you were still interested in the article and GA status. My comments were minor, and shouldn't take much time to fix, and as soon as they are fixed the article can be passed to GA. Thank you! Dana boomer (talk) 14:22, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- There are comments on the talk page :D, the changes must have gotten lost on my watchlist. Thanks for telling me. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 22:58, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
