USN Flag template on ships

[edit]

Hi Firefox, I see you've changed some US Navy ships to use the USN flag template for their flags. This is great, and thanks for doing this, since it's clearly the right way.

However, I'm wondering about the years. In Hornet CV-12 you used 1912, and in Valley Forge CV-45 you specified no year, meaning the current flag. Both ships were decomissioned in 1970, though. Looking at the template discussion, it looks as though you should specify 1970 as the year -- the template will then get the correct flag for that year. Does that sound right to you? (If Puerto Rico becomes a state next year, presumably the flag will change, so the "current flag" would then be the wrong one for VF.) Cheers, — Johan the Ghost seance 23:29, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
