  • Agree. In 2005, I was shock to see Commons delete an high quality ESA's picture because the license was "ESA License: educative use only". For me, this license perfectly satisfy wikipedia's needs, and such high quality images are very very welcome. As are many professional NC images visible online. But to protect the freedom of commercial use, this image was, and those images are removed. A complete non-sense. Good luck to you Fir ! Yug (talk) 07:06, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • You have my sympathies! I also left Wikipedia, for unability to come to conclusion with Christian Catholic censorship (User FisherQueen), trying to prevent information about the movie "Zeitgeist" to enter the WP for "lacking importance", reverting hundreds of edits from tens of different people, banning several users in the process. 85.160.11.187 (talk) 17:42, 5 January 2011 (UTC) (ex dramenbejs)[reply]

Hypocrisy?

[edit]

I don't appreciate being called a hypocrite in someone's parting shot because I applied a tag to an image well over four years ago. The Wikipedia logo is a trademark and needed to be tagged as such.

Additionally, trademark and copyright serve two distinct purposes. It is quite possible to support the free licensing of copyrighted information while being against free use of trademarks, without being a hypocrite. -- Cyrius| 05:17, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to see you go

Fir0002, you've made some truly excellent contributions. Thank you very much. I hope that there can be a constructive discussion in the near future that will balance the issue so that you feel happy to return and continue to contribute. All the best with studies and commercialising your hobby. TFJamMan (talk) 14:49, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
