Your submission at Articles for creation

[edit]
Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Aquire Services, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Finnyjacob. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Aquire Services".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Aquire Services}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. —rybec 09:04, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Finnyjacob. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:00, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at Jimfbleak. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Finnyjacob|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Your text was largely unsourced spam, and had very few real, verifiable facts about the NGO.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:27, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

The above reasons are not true All I tried to do is write an article of a NGO that I am with which is a non-profit organization and a one of a kind where we work in the rehabilitation of drug addicts who are underprivileged may be my writing style was not up to the mark although I tried my best to be neutral. Decline reason:

As a human being, I think it's great that your organization does good work, but you can't use Wikipedia to tell the world about it. Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources choose on their own to say about an organization, not what it wants to say about itself. You will not be unblocked to, anytime soon, contribute about your organization. We will first want to see a good edit history of edits in areas unrelated to your organization, as a demonstration of your understanding of relevant policies, before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your organization. If you want to edit in other topics, please tell what those might be. If your only interest is in contributing about your organization, this is the end of the road. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:52, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please place new postings at the bottom of the page, so that discussions appear in the correct chronological order.

Wikipedia is not a directory, so an organization is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. All topics must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to merit inclusion. In the specific case of an organization, it must meet the notability criteria for companies and organizations. For this to happen, the organization must have already received significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. We have no interest in what an organization wishes to say about itself, as this is an inherent conflict of interest.

You may believe that just because an organization does good or important work, that becomes a valid reason for inclusion; it is not. Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. As User:Blanchardb once said,

... nobility is not the same as notability, and [...] non-profit organisations are subjected to our spam and notability guidelines just the same as for-profit companies, no matter how noble their goals are.

And as you've been told on multiple occasions, we don't want an insider's perspective of an organization. We want the viewpoints of outside observers who have no personal, political or financial interest in the organization they are writing about. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:40, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with what the last moderator said about not telling the world about what my foundation does and I can only tell the world about what someone else does. But when I ask other people who run institutions for WIKIPEDIA PAGE SERVICE they would charge me 50,000 to 100000 and more to write about me and publish me. ONE, I dont have that kind of money. TWO thats so sad that it's just a few line about the foundation about where it is the number and address. dont really understand why i should pay someone else for it. I would love to write about my home town, my my fav musicians whom i watched as i grew up and historic events that happened here. would you write about my place if i dont!

Decline reason:

This appeal doesn't demonstrate that you understand our policies and guidelines regarding notability and conflicts of interest. Your claims in the discussion with Yamla below are....just bizarre; I don't think you really understand the purpose of Wikipedia. Ponyobons mots 22:17, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved this request to the bottom. Discussions should be in chronological order, with new comments and sections placed at the bottom of the page. In any case, this is not a constructive request. This is an encyclopedia, not a directory of charities. Nor are we an advertising platform. If you want people to pay attention to your charity and you don't want to pay money for advertising, then you ought to establish an active presence on social media and network with other charitable groups and your local community. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 19:38, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, any Wikipedia page-writing service is likely to be a waste of money, as the article has a high chance of being seen and removed, and is an attempt to circumvent Wikipedia rules. This will only make it less unlikely you will ever be unblocked. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 19:40, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia article-writing services are most often scams. It is not within their power to guarantee that any article they write will be accepted, particularly if it fails the notability criteria, isn't backed up by reliable sources, or isn't written from a neutral point of view. Don't fall for their promises which they can't keep. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:21, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The guidance is very nice to hear. but the fact is that there are so many people and companies doing it, I have personally paid people to get business on Wikipedia, and I know if i had done it through them it would have worked so far. But at the same time I am not doing any promotion of any sort. it's just some basic details of the place that's all. I know and I have read most of the guidelines here and I'll do my best to be on it. 223.233.71.217 (talk) 09:52, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
