Gosgood (talk · contribs) wrote a little opinion piece regarding NPOV during a 'Good Article Review' battle on the article Veganism. Gosgood considers 'neutral' as a type of rhetoric - see Veganism GAR. I think you view 'neutral' as the received paradigm of a topic. As you have pointed out, correctly, 'neutral' as the common understanding of a topic is at odds with 'neutral' as 'all views considered' especially in the sciences where empirical boundaries are clearly delineated.
