From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is not enough to delete a section of carefully referenced and factual text from Wikipedia on a whim or due to disliking what appears there. Wikipedia has its own rules, which are more importantly subject to the rules and procedures of academic debate in the wider community.

If you feel that there is some error in the text that you have deleted you need to be able to demonstrate the error. The references support what is asserted, so there is no error there. If you feel the error is simply that these facts have been recorded on Wikipedia, then Wikipedia does not give you the right to be a censor of things which are factual and attested. If it is censorship of clear and open debate that you are wanting, then you need to find a different forum.

If you wish to challenge anything I have written into the Harm Reduction page, you need to tell me and all else in the Discussion page why it is incorrect or lacking evidential support. I will reply with a factual and evidenced reply. If you cannot demonstrate errors, then you need to leave the text as it is, no matter what your private feelings may be about it.

Looking forward to hearing from you on anything evidence-based that you might wish to raise.

Ok, I'd like to. I used to work in the cross as a drug and alcohol worker and I can't say that the picture the paragraph paints reprents the reality of what I experienced or read about. Do you live or work nearby? FMP

I made some changes to the formatting to insert some of the standard instructions and follow one of the standard formats. These details of format are optional, but some editors expect to find things like the "certifying" section under the usual name. WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:10, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the above sockpuppet investigation, I have blocked all three of your accounts. You may select one of them, and post an unblock request using {{unblock|reason}} on that account's talk page to have it unblocked. The other two accounts will remain blocked. Invitation

[edit]

There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Please sign up on the editathon project page if you can participate either online or in person with other Wikipedians. Hope to see you there!
