Information icon Hello, I'm Thanoscar21. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Murder of Gabriel Fernandez, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. His parents were Hispanic, that makes him Hispanic. Thanoscar21 (talk) 14:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you understand how ignorant and racist you are? Do you not think people can be both Hispanic and American....? He was born and raised in California. Last tyi checked, California is an American state. Even if you don't see it that way.👍🏼 Don't bother replying. Racist/Bigot. FightForWhatsRight (talk) 14:46, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article says he's from Palmdale, California - that implies he was American. Adding that he was Hispanic is being more accurate. -- puddleglum2.0 14:59, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Being more accurate...? Does that imply describing him as "American" is not accurate? Lol. You forget you people are of European background. Latin America is the Americas. Get your geography correct. And Mexico is very much apart of the North American continent. With Indigenous history. My problem is you do not feel the need to describe American Caucasian people by their ethnic background as you do Hispanics. Describing them solely as American is enough. Please change that inequality/unfairness in the future. It's 2020. Threaten me all you want. You'll lose a longtime visitor of your website.👌🏼🇺🇸 FightForWhatsRight (talk) 15:08, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There's really no need for all this. First of all, I'm not even European, I'm Asian, who historically have been persecuted, so you don't need all of this unpleasantness. Next, having language on your user page that's you wouldn't want a job application reviewer to see is generally a bad idea. Also, look at so many biographies. Take a look at the leads of the following: Jeff Bezos and Steve Jobs, just to name a few. Calling people racists and bigots is also not a very good idea. Thanks, Thanoscar21 (talk) 15:18, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your reply, hope your staying well. To add to Thanoscar's statement, I just wanted to make it clear that my intention was not to threaten you, the message was simply meant to inform you that I reverted your edit and to inform you why it wasn't quite an improvement. That being said, here's some extended reasoning.
  • Describing him as American isn't less accurate, but its simply repetitive - the very next sentence clarifies that he was from, and was a citizen of, the United States.Describing as Hispanic is not racist; as you say, the US is diverse and accepts people of many nationalities and backgrounds.
  • Please don't imply that I am of European descent and from the United States - that in and of itself is doing the very things you chide me for.
I hope this makes sense; if not, feel free to either respond to me here, or, if you feel this needs wider attention, you can start a thread over at ANI; if the instructions over there aren't clear you can contact me or anyone else for help. Also, would you mind taking down the vastly insulting personal attack against me and user:Thanoscar21 on your userpage? I am not a "racist bastard" and would not like to be described as such. Thank you! -- puddleglum2.0 15:25, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because you're Asian does not exempt you from being ignorant or bias. Lol. Keep that in mind. I don't care for Jeff Bezos or Steve Jobs, so I won't be reading their bios (what have they got to do with this topic anyway?). Exactly which language did I use that you consider inappropriate...? Did I swear? No. I was upset, but still refrained from that. If you are not American, you wouldn't understand the way minorities (including Asians) feel about being labled certain ways as to diminish our American status in comparison to whites in this country. I know I can't be the only one who has an issue with this and I plan to start a petition on it. Have a good day now.👋🏼🇺🇸 FightForWhatsRight (talk) 15:32, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You were upset, saying that there wasn't "American..." on pages. It's there. The language that's insulting is "racist/bigot" and "racist bastard". Kindly take it down from your user page. Thanks, Thanoscar21 (talk) 15:39, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
