Unblock request
[edit]Ffolkways (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
@Bbb23: @Ivanvector: @Swarm: I was formally User:Nixon Now and was blocked several months ago for sockpuppeting. The block started off as a temporary block but escalated to an indefinite one due to block evasion. I have attempted to evade the indef block since then by using sockpuppets and have been editing constructively (aside from the sockpuppet use) but ultimately the evasion has been detected resulting in more blocks. I no longer have access to User:Nixon Now as I have lost the password. However, i would like to inquire as to what I need to do to have my block lifted. I agree to restrict my editing to a single account (I propose User:Ffolkways as that account) and to follow Wikipedia rules against multiple account use and edit wrarring as well as all other rules. I understand a lifting of the block will not occur in the short term but I request some sort of road map so that the block could be lifted eventually and so that I can contribute to the project constructively. Thank you. Ffolkways (talk) 13:15, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Thanks for letting us know. As you are de-facto banned under WP:3X and have continued to violate WP:EVADE and WP:SOCK, your only path forward is the faint hope of WP:SO. Go for at least six months with zero edits. No new accounts, no editing via IP address, nothing. Zero edits. Then read WP:SO and write up an unblock request for the community to discuss. If you are able to convince the Wikipedia community (rather than a single administrator) that you should be trusted again, you would be unblocked at that time. Yamla (talk) 13:22, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- @Yamla: The community cannot unblock a CU-blocked account. The optimal way to handle this kind of situation is for a CheckUser to consent to abide by the wishes of the community before an unblock/unban request is considered.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:38, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sigh. Yes. Excellent point. --Yamla (talk) 14:05, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
