Welcome[edit]

Hi, FeldBum, Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello, bonjour, salut, privyet, konichiwa, shalom, hola, salve, sala'am, bonjourno, and hi! I'm Sputnik. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". We're glad to have you in our community! I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful. If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you. Here are a few links to get you started:
And remember:
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
  • P.S. I'm happy to help new users. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Happy Wiki-ing!

The WikiHangman Tournament has started![edit]

Hello! This is a reminder that you have signed up for the Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament. Matches have started, and you must move* within the next 24 hours in order to not have your match being forefeitted. Your games are found here.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at my talk page. Good luck!

*"Moving" is defined as guessing a letter (if your first opponent has created their {{Hangman}} yet) or creating your {{Hangman}} to fit your word. Instructions for setting up the Hangman template is found hereIan Manka Talk to me‼ 00:50, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your turn![edit]

I entered a word on my puzzle. My understanding is you place your word and guess on mine.

Good luck! Mike Straw 10:31, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- It's your turn again! -Mike Straw 10:15, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Round was forfeited for time before you responded. I have started mine for round 2 - your turn! -Mike Straw 05:55, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, guess this thing is still unclear in a couple areas - Round 1 is over, you forfeited because you didn't post within 24 hours (actually, they gave you 2 days before they called the forfeit). We are now in Round 2. I put a new word in there, and set up the template for your word. Just need you to guess and post there. Thanks! -Mike Straw 14:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your turn! - Mike Straw 08:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Back at ya! - Mike Straw 09:22, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's your turn - Mike Straw 11:52, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's been three days since I moved - are you still in the game? -- Mike Straw 07:04, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One more letter for round 2A for me, then I should be ready to guess -- Mike Straw 23:07, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the missing letter - it can be hard to count all those Es!

OK - you won round 2 - I posted the boards for Round 3 -- Mike Straw 02:39, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My last guess[edit]

In match 3A, I guessed "A". You said no "O" and marked a miss. I didn't guess "O". -- Mike Straw 11:20, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Dear FeldBum,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Your edit to Slot machine[edit]

Your revert was inappropriate. As you can clearly see, the significance of the slot machine (that 70% of casino income comes from slots) is clearly an important point and one that needs to be sourced. I inserted a source for this claim and there are many more out there if for some reason you think that source is spam. Do you think I work for that site, profiting from such a claim? Please pay more attention. - Abscissa 13:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC) (Emphasis added by Abscissa 03:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]

It may not have been spam in terms of your benefit, but an Ezine article written by a casino affiliate and filled with his links is hardly a reputable source and deserved to have been removed. Check the article - another user replaced your "rv rv" with a more appropriate link. -- FeldBum 03:54, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The next match has been given the green light for you to start. You will face Dante Alighieri in match 6. You must create the first game within the next 24 hours, or you risk forfeitting the match. Good luck! Ian Manka Talk to me! 20:03, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm back from Vegas... of course you are now IN Vegas, so... I'll await your responses at your convenience. :) --Dante Alighieri | Talk 19:00, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AllOfMP3.com[edit]

About your recent reverts on AllOfMP3.com . While the added information was addmitedly spammy sounding, it was never the less factual. I verified the text that was added, as I wanted to revert it myself. I am inclined to write the bad wording off as some newbie just writing two lines of text from an advertisement. My point, I think perhaps we should try to reword, in place of reverting the information about payment methods? Alternatively the entire passage about payment could be skipped? Bfg 18:32, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do reword, just make sure its not a call to action. Explain in one line what this payment is. -- FeldBum 18:46, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:WHMT (again)[edit]

Okay, the final match is on its way! The game I set up can be found here: Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 1/Match 7/Round 1/A, and your game that you must set up can be found here: Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 1/Match 7/Round 1/B. You must set up your game within 24 hours of this notice, or you risk forfeitting this round within the final match. Good luck, and I hope to hear from you soon! Ian Manka Talk to me! 00:23, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You must set up your match within 12 hours, or the first round will be forefeitted. Ian Manka Talk to me! 04:27, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You have forfeitted the first round. I have set up the next round: Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 1/Match 7/Round 2/A, and your game that you must set up can be found here: Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 1/Match 7/Round 2/B. You must set up your game within 24 hours, or risk forfeitting the game, match, and tournament. Ian Manka Talk to me! 05:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Next hangman game[edit]

Terribly sorry, I must have completely missed the games on my watchlist. It's a shame, but rules are rules. I suppose it would have been nice to drop me a note before forefeitting me, but I'll assume good faith and start the next round.

The games are found here (your guess) and my guess. Good luck! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 03:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I guess I was kinda bitter after forfeitting ;). No worries, mate! Yeah, this will be the deciding game. Good luck! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 19:29, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm back from my Wikibreak. I'll give you 36 hours to update the games, and then I'll have to forefeit you. Sorry about not giving you a heads-up on the Wikibreak. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 02:11, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:WHMT (part III)[edit]

Hello. You may or may not remember this, but some time ago you signed up for a Hangman Tournament hosted here on Wikipedia. The next tournament is about to start, and I was just wondering if you were still interested in participating. If you are, please go to the page (linked above) and bold your name in the sign-up list. This will confirm your registration. If you are not interested any more, please feel free to remove your name from the list. If you haven't responded within 7 days, I will assume you are not interested, and remove you from the list.

If you think anyone else may be interested in this tournament, please drop them a note and ask them to sign up. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the tournament! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:35, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Casino Royale 2006[edit]

Looks good! Keep after it. Menkatopia 20:17, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THanks with a bit more work and copy editing I think this will soon be in shape for a feature. I am going to try to take a screenshot of the rig and the cykinders used for the Ventian house scene from the DVD this would look great in the effects section. How about details on technical specs? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" "S.P.E.C.T.R.E" 20:20, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Break Open[edit]

An editor has nominated Break Open, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Break Open and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kosher foods[edit]

You recently reverted an edit I made to Kosher foods. My edit was to add a request for clarification to the article's overview. You reverted it with the justification that The overview doesn't need cites. Plenty are provided in the article. You seem to be confused as to the purpose of my edit. I was not asking for citations, I was tagging a particular sentence as unclear and confusing. I am reverting your reversion. Please review WP:CLARIFY, thank you 173.24.56.177 (talk) 18:14, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Steinway article[edit]

Thanks for coming to the rescue about that NPOV tag. The anonymous designating editor, who had added the info about the relative sizes of concert grands, apparently missed that I had not deleted his/her contribution but merely moved the details out of the lead paragraph, where they didn't belong, to a more appropriate section, with a general reference in the lead to preserve the concept. That said, the D-274 article has been a hotbed of contention for ages, barely surviving a deletion proceeding a couple of years back, so don't be surprised when it gives rise to some heat. I worked it over at that time (when it really was dangerously close to NPOV) as an attempt to save it, and--more off than on--I've tried to contribute to its neutrality since; that is not always the easiest of tasks.... Adam Lambert[edit]

thx for your update, prospectively, of the diva 2012 show occurring tonight 12/16. i'd been trying to wait until the event had occurred before making an entry; the lead-up promo has been extensive but wanted to wait, also, to see what might be said about it by media in the aftermath. i'll be doing a fuller edit, incorporating what you said, beginning after the show -- but as i said, also waiting for commentary which might take a day or two. just an fyi and a thank you! Speedy deletion nomination of Prepex[edit]

Hello FeldBum,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Prepex for deletion in response to your request.

If you didn't intend to make such a request and don't want the article to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Fylbecatulous talk 00:57, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Answer re: Prepex deletion[edit]

Hi, FeldBum; the article was tagged and subsequently deleted because you blanked the page, which gives an indirect or passive request for deletion. It got deleted so fast (I'm not an admin, so one of them deleted it) but I had barely tagged it and poof, it had vanished. This is a link to the deleted page: [[1]] with the administrator's name who deleted your article. It says (and I trust) that if you contact them, they will help you get the article going again. If you need more help, please let me know. All the best! Fylbecatulous talk 02:14, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bot/Blacklisted Link[edit]

Hi FeldBum--Thanks so much for responding to my issue. I would have been happy to replace the link--it was the easiest solution, but it was causing problems with my inline citations for some reason.
