The article Dr. Zabihullah Mojaddidy has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ttonyb (talk) 19:39, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I am the source, I am his daughter and have direct contact with my father, I put information from his resume and bio. What other source do you need? Furthermore, I see tons of inaccurate information on many pages about Afghanistan and Afghan officials and most of it is not sourced, yet their pages are published on Wiki.

I have no reason to doubt that you are this person's daughter, but I'm afraid we cannot accept this as a reliable source. Imagine how you would feel if someone else came along claiming to be related to your father, and putting up information that may or may not be true. If your father is notable, there will be some references to him in books, newspaper articles, etc. that you can refer to. Another thing to consider is conflict of interest - it is very difficult to write about yourself or a member of your family from a neutral point of view. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but these are Wikipedia's policies, particularly where living people are concerned, and we need to protect them. If you can let me know of any of the other unsourced biographies you mention, let me know and I'll investigate them more thoroughly. Feel free to contact me on my talk page. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 19:58, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ok then. verify that haji deen muhammad is the current governor where is ur source for this: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Haji_Din_Mohammad or ur source for this: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/List_of_current_governors_of_Afghanistan#Governors

i can understand wanting to edit the page based on sources, but deleting it is ridiculous!! for all i care, wiki can continue to have out-dated information about afghan officials. i wasted enough of my time today trying to update things that should be accurate on wiki.

One source for Haji Din Mohammad is here, as stated in the article. I've tagged List of current governors of Afghanistan as unsourced, and will raise the matter at WikiProject Afghanistan. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 20:54, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

that is a link to his biography, not a real source. i'm also putting information from my father's brief biography. fact is, wiki is not checking sources for these pages and i am going to try to get that information updated but it will not be easy since none of this is available online. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.72.131.58 (talk) 21:23, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've found a couple of sources on Google which I've added, so I've removed the proposed deletion tag. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 21:26, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for removing the deletion flag Tivedshambo, i am trying to get a list with dates of recent governors of kabul from the afghan emabssy. if i get it, i will upload here.

I have also added an inline citation of a US Gov. press release mentioning Dr. Mojadidi/Mojaddidy as being Provincial Governor.

  • Note:In looking for sources researchers should be aware of the possible variants of the Governor's first and last names and that he might be referred to either as a Provincial or as a Regional Governor.

thanks Shearonink for the source, i had not seen that one before. i appreciate the help.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Zabihullah mojaddidy.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 23:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Zabihullah Mojaddidy, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. — raekyT 01:28, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • raeky none of 1-3 applies to me so why put this warning on me?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatimama74 (talkcontribs) 01:54, 28 July 2010
  • i have stated from the very beginning that this is my father. but what you posted in 1-3 refers to organizations, i am not part of any organization that relates to him. does it say in wiki guidelines that being someone's daugter is a conflict of interest? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatimama74 (talkcontribs) 02:00, 28 July 2010
  • It's a standard template notice about COI, so yes some of it may not apply to you, sorry. And yes, it's at WP:COI that page details conflict of interest, specifically Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#Close_relationships, it doesn't mean you can't edit articles you have a COI issue with, it just means you need to be extra careful, and since this is a biography of a living person, you need to be VERY aware of our BLP policies if you continue to edit his article. — raekyT 02:06, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source

[edit]

I know that on those pictures you uploaded that you don't know specifically where the author came from and that your brother e-mailed them to you, but you still need to provide a source where it originally came from. It appears from this version you uploaded it's from some sort of profile/biography. Do you know any more details of a source? — raekyT 14:16, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
