On The Metric System

My theory as to why SI hasn't caught on in the States is because there is no good analog for the "foot". The foot is by far the most widely used unit of measure for distance in general day to day use here and there simply isn't a good alternative to it. I think there needs to be standard measure between centimeter and meter before it will ever penetrate.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 12:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
