A Request

[edit]

WE came to know and see from google search that the article Jayen Varma is deleted. Please be free to look into it once again. We are sure that the authorities will make any changes needed in it by editing the article whereever necessary. But pl do not delete it because we are such big fans of this Great man.... Thanking you Regards

A tag has been placed on Jayen Varma requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. TOOOOO Sad!!!!!!!!! Are Indians so Bad

[edit]

We, students used to refer wiki all the time for any informations. But its too sad now!!! This is the reason why there are hardly seven or eight Guitarists named in wiki from such a Big and Musically talented country like India. At the same time biographies of many amatures from West are detailed in it with photos. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--Fansfans123 (talk) 06:11, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If an article is properly referenced there is no problem, but when an article is poorly referenced, has no references at all, or reads like a PR puff piece, it does not belong on Wikipedia. The place of origin of the subject of the article is irrelevant. If you would like to recreate the article as a user sub-page at User:Fansfans123/Jayen Varma please go ahead. You can work on it there without it being deleted and it can be reviewed and commented upon by other editors before being moved to the main space. Please let me know if you need any help with that.  – ukexpat (talk) 16:08, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow.. this suggestion is appreciated

[edit]

Thank U for the offer for helping us. will create a draft first.. Come back later.. bye--Fansfans123 (talk) 06:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have taken a quick look at this and I think you need to read a few policies and guidelines to even have a hope of this article surviving a move to the mainspace. First, the key policies: WP:N, WP:BIO, WP:V, and WP:RS. Then for general article stuff, WP:YFA and WP:MOS. There are others, but those are the key ones for now. Please read the first four very carefully, as those are the policies and guidelines against which the article will be reviewed by other editors. The formatting stuff in WP:MOS can be fixed later. – ukexpat (talk) 13:29, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx4 the massage

[edit]

We read the mail. Thanx. Its really complicated to the edit. We dont blame JV or WP editors for the article and its deletion. Any article should should meet the rules, though there may be facts..you are right. We think that the issue will be soloved only if citations are acceptable. In this matter we have intimated the fact to Record Holders Republic. He also has intimated the same to RHR, because we see that RHR's page is still there without any articles. So we think its better we do not change the present article. The situation will be solved if an article about RHR approved in WP. Or if you can help it, you may please try to edit the article.. We think his brother who is staying with him and witnessed his frustration against WP editors(..LOL) is taking up the matter after discussion with RHR authorities. We have given him all the links etc.. We hope you understand it.. WP is right, JV re right..RHR is right..... Will solve it ... Thanx..--Fansfans123 (talk) 07:37, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How can we prove

[edit]

How can we notability of a person. Our bassist is notable among the entire bass community in the world now. we are sending a link of biggest cultural festival of India by Indian Institute of Technology, which was graced by many people like Padit Ravi Sankar, etc etc(George Harrison's Guru} in the past. This year the star is Jayen varma. Others are Irish Band and many Indian bands. There are many links like this. He is creating a new trend in Bass Guitar. pl see. http://antaragni.iitk.ac.in/irhr.html Pl see the Bass Guitarist in it. We hense request you to please modify the article about him and replace it. Thanks.--Fansfans123 (talk) 03:12, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like me to help edit the article in you sandbox to try to bring it up to Wikipedia standards? I do not see any reason why an acceptable article can not be written. The problem has been that the previous attempts have all been outside of Wikipedia standards. Has an article been written in any of the other Wikipedia languages? If so, if you could post a link that that article here it would be helpful. Dbiel (Talk) 03:58, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We got it corrected

[edit]

Yes.. Like you said, we have to make it to the WP standard. So we gave the article to an English journalist and got corrected and posted it again. We had a chance to speak to The Bass player, JV and he said it was his manager who was doing the postings on his behalf. The manager however had given him an hint about all these. He told us to say sorry to you all for any wrong words from his user page. We are of strong feeling that the list Bassists in WP is incomplete without his name. Because he is such a notable personality in the Bass World. Please see the link below: He is going to make another record infront of 15000 to 20000 people. Everything will be recorded in the computer. He has announced his attempt to many famous Bassists in the World. Its open for anyone to attend the function on 25th of this month.Pl see: http://antaragni.iitk.ac.in/Antaragni08.html We hope you will approve this article with whatever changes required. It is said that there is an aticle about him in another language.. But we dont see any!!!!!!!!!! The talk now is that,Indian Guitarists are always ignored in WP..just 8 guitarists are only mentioned here in this. Hope you will do your best to approve it. Thank you..--Fansfans123 (talk) 06:47, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please have a look

[edit]

We saw the communication in JV's user page. We contacted him and after that he insisted his staff not to write or edit anything from that user page illegaly. And it will never happen. Sorry for that. He has no time to write all these. He is always doing concerts and doing practice. His only word is "PRACTICE". Pl google for him and you can see many people and organisations have rated him among top 20 Bassists in the World. How can they approve him among the best players, if he is not notable. Another surprise!!!..when other Professional Bass players use Bass Guitar worth USD 2000 to 4000 and above, he uses a Bass Guitar worth just USD 150 with two good pick ups purchased for USD 150 or 200. This is unbelieavable. You can see from his videos that he is a very calm and cool person. You can not expect any aggressive words from him. He appreciates the attitude of Wikipedia editors. He loves to have his article in WP. But he never hates anyone if he is rejected. . Hope you will just see the draft article and approve it after making whatever modifications you can. Hoping that WP will approve atleast few more Indian Guitarists other than the present 8 persons!!!!!!!!!! Thank YOU all.--Fansfans123 (talk) 06:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A doubt

[edit]

I think it has become so complicated now.!!!!!!! Let me ask you. Can the deleted article be restored in my user page or in this Fansfans's user page?.Thank you--Broarticle (talk) 19:47, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We believe the article is approved

[edit]

We are sitting with 'Broarticle' now and had discussions. We even contacted many persons, who always get in to wikipedia. We got the information all such people that, 'since the draft article in sand box is slighly modified and no further comments ae on it, it seems the article is approved. So we are asked to post it to the main page and we are doing so. If it can not be approved, none of us will not do anything in wikipedia again and you can delete it.. We do not see any reason why such a notable person in the world can not be admitted only in wikipedia. Thank you all.--Fansfans123 (talk) 18:21, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree that an article on Jayen Varma belongs in Wikipedia, but the way it is written right now, it is not about him, but rather an expanded section about Bass Guitar.
It needs some major editing. Not so much as to what is there already, but as to what is missing.
Please take a look at some of the other related articles and add some information about the life of Jayen Varma.
For examples of great (featured) articles on musicians see Category:FA-Class biography (musicians) articles
For examples of some decent articles see Category:C-Class biography (musicians) articles or for start class examples see Category:Start-Class biography (musicians) articles I hope you find this helpful. Dbiel (Talk) 21:41, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pl see the posting of the article

[edit]

We hope you google for Jayen Varma and the opinions of different bassists and Musicians. Thanking you once again for the approval--Fansfans123 (talk) 18:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank U so much

[edit]

This is a positive approach from you. We will do acording to what you said. Wikipedia rule. and we appreciate all the editors who are really patient--Fansfans123 (talk) 23:22, 28 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Article name space vs User name space

[edit]

At this point in time I would recommend doing all editing on the name space article Jayen Varma and only use the user space copy User:Fansfans123/Jayen Varma for testing purposes, and then only if you feel that it is necessary. The edits made to the article are moving forward in the right direction. I have replaced the current copy in article space with the one currently in user space. There is a lot more work that needs to be done, but it is headed the right way.Dbiel (Talk) 02:18, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An article is tough than music

[edit]

To Dbiel, Ukspat and all editors and administrators here. Writing an article in good quality is harder than playing music. We have been doing it just like you guided us. God.. we are tired. Please make any corrections if needed. May God bless you... thank U..for all the help!!!!!!!!!--Fansfans123 (talk) 02:44, 29 October 2008 (UTC) . --Fansfans123 (talk) 18:19, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for The Power of Intention

[edit]

Could you please post the page number of the quote from Dr.Wayne Dyer,s book 'The Power of Intention' as well as the ISBN number for the book and I will add the quote into the main article. Thank you. Dbiel (Talk) 13:29, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply with thanx

[edit]

Thanx again. The book is with JV now. So we cant get the said number. However we googled for it and please see the links. If its not enough, we will get the book and get ISBN number. links: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4ADBF_enIN273IN273&q=Book+%27The+Power+of+Intention%27++ISBN+number&btnG=Search

Regards......--Fansfans123 (talk) 18:19, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That will be enough to start with, but when you have a chance, it would help to get the exact page number of the quote and to reconfirm the ISBN of the copy (version) he is using. Dbiel (Talk) 19:11, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have revised and added this section back into the article Jayen Varma. Take a look and see what you think. Dbiel (Talk) 11:55, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok.. will do it

[edit]

Thank U for this. We will check it and give you the details. Regards.--Fansfans123 (talk) 03:03, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It reads/looks Great now

[edit]

Sir, The book is now seen taken from him by somebody to read. So we have to look for another one and it may take a sometime, coz its not easily available here in book shops. The link of the book you added is really fine. Its great that you got the right link of the book here. We didnt see the link though we searched a lot. The edit you have done now is really informative. Those who read it here said, it sounds great now and they too got inspired. Now this will help all those who read the Great teachings of the Sage and Dr Wayne W Dyer. Yes, an article must be able to spread knowledge. Great!!!!You did a good job!!! With due respect...--Fansfans123 (talk) 14:12, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Jayen Varma, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jayen Varma (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Need suggestions

[edit]

Please refer to the above referred article.. I may bring to your notice that I had translated the article Jayen Varma in to Malayalam language. The same article has translation in Italian language also. Few users say Record Holders Republic is not a genuine body. But the following articles reveal that Record Holders Republic is also acceptable in Wikipedia. Doug Pruden Yard (beer) David Straitjacket Mohammad Faisal Lucky’s Lake Swim Paddy Doyle Liquid Blue. The article in question is also very much neutral since it only says “…..According to Record Holders Republic he is the..……”. Since you may be familiar with this matter, I request you to please contribute your suggestions to keep this article alive. Thanks.---Musicindia1 (talk) 09:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion review

[edit]

Hi,

On English Wikipedia the article has got deleted as the result of this deletion discussion. To request a review of the same, go to the deletion review page. The article has not got deleted on Malayalam or Italian Wikis. Someone just blanked the pages and has been reverted. But there is a deletion discussion going on at Malayalam Wikipedia.

Best wishes -- Raziman T V (talk) 11:12, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
