List of publisher codes is OK to use here?

Hello Fabrivelas. I came here due to your comment at Talk:ISBN#Discuss links here (spam concern). I see that you were able to find publisher codes at blog.openlibrary.org. These codes are potentially useful as an external link, but we need to do some checking. If you are someone who regularly reads blog.openlibrary.org, can you explain how those codes came to be available? Formerly, a person could not obtain publisher codes without an expensive subscription or some special access. If we decide to use those codes in Wikipedia, will our reuse be innocent, or will some commercial outfit be annoyed at us?
