Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Chun Doo-hwan a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Do not delete sections from talk pages

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Chun Doo-hwan, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Your edit summary ("rearranging ...") and use of the minor edit flag were entirely inappropriate for such an edit. cab (talk) 14:03, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Ban Ki-moon

... broke all the url= links in citation templates. Please do not change url=http://www.example.com| to url=[http://www.example.com http://www.example.com]|. It may make sense to do that in the body of an article, but not in templates. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 16:10, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

• I noticed that my edit was something like 3000+ new characters for what was just a rewording of a sentence, so I went back to see what happened. I noticed that all the links were displayed twice now, but when I went back and tested a link on the page, it worked fine. I'm using wikEd as of last night. Did that have anything to do with it? I don't use wikiEd, but I suppose that's possible. The problem, as I see it, is that (at least for the citation templates I checked), the relinking prevents the citation template from displaying the title of the article, overriding it by displaying the URL. Pulling an example from the {{cite news}} documentation:

How to do headings the way I want to?

{{helpme}} Thanks for taking a look at this page to help me out! Here's what I'm looking for:

Take this talk page, for example. All the topic headings are made using == double equal signs. It makes a nice 1. 2. 3. 4. vertical list so you can click and go to the #heading that you want. Now I want to make a large heading to draw attention to a new topic at the bottom, so I use = one equal sign. Now I have a nice 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. vertical list at the top, and the heading at the bottom for 5. is much larger and noticeable than the others.

The problem is, if I create another topic heading below 5. using just == double equal signs again, it now makes it topic 5.1 nested under topic 5., since it's smaller than topic 5. :( How can get these == double equal signs to make topic 6. instead of topic 5.1? You can't; the number of =s determine the heading level; what you can do, however, is use <big> tags to make the heading look larger, like this:

(edit conflict) You shouldn't use </nowiki>=level one=</nowiki> headers for article sections. Level one is for the article title only, and all top-level sections of the article should use ==level two== headers. Change section 5 back to a level two header, and the numbering will be fixed. I read the talk page

• You said you're about to go to bed, so thus, the article is unlikely expanded while you're sleeping, and working. That means it would be intact for at least 24 hours from now. Given the article history, the article is not very much actively edited by people here, so you need to think about readers of the page (about 170 per day), not concern about whether your preferred work setting is abandoned for its inactivity. The weird blank gives unnecessary attention to the warning template, and gives a little credibility to its content. If you want to translate some from Korean Wikipedia, offline works first would be good for you in the difficult internet accessibility. Please read WP:OWN.--Caspian blue 22:02, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

• The article is unlikely to be expanded while I'm sleeping--which is why I switched out the "in use" template with one that invites others to make edits, while keeping in mind that the article is undergoing extensive changes. If you check the page history, I have been regularly contributing large amounts of material for the past couple days, and this will continue. I always remove the "in use" template when I am done editing so that others know they are welcome to make edits once more.

I don't quite understand what my internet access has to do with much. I brought it up in regards to not being able to conveniently deal with edit conflicts. As a side, the talk page states that most of of the translation is already done. I translated offline using, and a few days ago I posted it on WP at User:FFLaguna/Chun_Doo-hwan_Translation01 for others to see. The link to that is on the talk page of the article, of course. • Sorry, I'm not interested in expanding the article because that is beyond my common interests. I read your comments on the talk page, but I don't find why the weird <br> tag should be kept in your comments there. The article is about the former president, so that takes a high position in Korean Project ranking system. It has been on watchlist for housekeeping, so I'm well aware of your expansion to the article. However, you really need to think about "readers", not about you. WP:OWN is a clear non-issue. I'm not claiming ownership of anything. We were talking about the inclusion of 1) a template noting the page is undergoing major changes, and 2) a superfluous amount of <br> tags that are mucking up the page. I removed the <br> tags, so there should be minimal issues with the page now. If there are still outstanding issues, please let me know. I will still be contacting you when the page nears completion, because the changes you made much earlier today were very helpful. Citation cleanup at Chun Doo-hwan

Hi, thank you for the translation and expansion. I elaborated and translated the citations that you inserted, and I want you to also do like this for the next time[1]. Because many English readers do not set up with Asian language packs, they could not recognize what language citations are used in the article. Inserting "language=Korean" parameter would be better than nothing. Most of your sources are from notable newspaper agencies, so they have their articles on Wikipedia such as The Chosun Ilbo, The Dong-a Ilbo, JoongAng Ilbo, etc. You need to link them instead of just copying their Korean names. Naver 뉴스 is not a news agency, but just a big portal hosting all news from its contracted news agency, so you need to specify where the news originally comes from. Author names and news titles should be also transliterated or translated as well. I hope you continue improving the article. Thanks.--Caspian blue 15:07, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

How to draw attention to an article that needs work?

{{helpme}} Is there a way to attract people's attention to an article you have been working hard on? I would like the help of several people, but the WikiProject for the topic is basically defunct, and the page is not yet good enough to warrant a Peer Review. Thanks for your suggestions! • Ask for feedback at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback. There's also Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests but according to the project page they have a massive backlog so I wouldn't expect much. You could also try the talk page of a "parent article". For example, if the article is on some type of frog,, you might request help at talk:Amphibian. There is not so many choices. You might have a try at the WP:Village pump (in the misc section), but basically what you want is just what every editor want, that is to draw attention to your article, and if such a place existed there would be hundreds of requests. Do not expect too much from the Requests for feedback for that reason. If you think your article is very good, you could also try and ask for good article reviewing. Looking for help translating sources

Hello I'm trying to improve the article Eatyourkimchi that is tagged for deletion. But a few of the sources I've found are in Korean which I don't read. I'd really appreciate any help with these 4 sources or with the article.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge!
