Step-by-step guide to usurpation of old own account

[edit]
  • Edit actively, constructively, for multiple months.
  • After 4 days of editing (and >10 edits), your account will be "autoconfirmed". You can then create the page User:Ezyjules. Fill it with the following content: {{Abandoned account|[[User:Ezyjules99]]}}<br>I lost my password and e-mail address for this old account, and it has no contributions. I will request usurpation in a few months, after having become an active editor. ~~~~
  • After 3 months of editing, add the following message to User talk:Ezyjules: {{subst:usurpr}}
  • Immediately after adding the message to User talk:Ezyjules, follow the steps at Wikipedia:Changing_username/Usurpations. In your request, explain that "Ezyjules" is your own old account, and that you have lost any way of accessing it. Ideally, explain why it is important to you to get the old name back.
  • If you like to, mention the following in your request: (courtesy ping: {{u|ToBeFree}}, as requested at [[User talk:Ezyjules99]])

I hope this helps. If you're looking for things to do, the Wikipedia:Community_portal will be useful. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 16:30, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
