Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, EyesOnYou, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Image sourcing

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that with File:Chicago-illinois-skyline-skyscrapers-161963.jpg, you wrote that the article was in the public domain but that it was also your own work. (Marking things as your own work means that you took the photograph yourself.) I found evidence that you took this from another source (ie, there are websites that have this published prior to your upload date), but I can't locate the exact image. Can you add a link to the page you took the image from, that noted that it was in the public domain? The issue here is that unless we have proof that this image is firmly in the public domain, it would be considered a copyright violation. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:24, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
