Album Listings

[edit]

When creating new articles, it is very helpful to place them in categories. For very short articles about albums, you can use {{album-stub}}, at the bottom of the article, to indicate that it is a short (stub) article about an article. xaosflux Talk/CVU 03:23, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article creation

[edit]

I have been looking through the list of unwatched pages (available only to administrators) and found (For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People. I see that you created this but were not watching it. You may want to go to your preferences and under the "editing" tab turn on "Add pages you edit to your watchlist". This will enable you to keep an eye out for any edits that are made to pages you create and help to revert vandalism. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:57, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you do decide to turn it on can you please drop me a note on my talk page so I can cut down my excessive watchlist. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 03:06, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I have over 6000 on my watch list. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 05:36, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updating infoboxes

[edit]

Wow, thanks for all the effort you're putting into updating those album infoboxes. Just one request: could include the links to the all music pages where you're getting the ratings from, as it suggests on Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums - this just makes it easier for other editors to verify your edits. Cheers, and keep it up! Flowerparty 17:21, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary

[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 12 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:23, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I reverted your minor edit to Digable Planets. The style guide for links says: An article may be considered overlinked if any of the following is true: ... a link is repeated in the same article (although there may be case for duplicating an important link that is distant from the previous occurrence). Since the title of that album was linked two paragraphs above where you linked it, I reverted. Thanks! | Klaw ¡digame! 01:34, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikify

[edit]

Want to wikify your album creations like I did in this edit? It's not too much effort but it'd be a great help to organized looking data. You could also add an info box which would make it even better. gren グレン 02:59, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

nice neutral milk hotel edit... Rich 00:24, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your work at notable songs/albums

[edit]

Your hard work pruning, updating and fixing links at these two pages hasn't gone unnoticed. I really appreciate all the work you have done so far. It's really nice to trust someone else's edits aren't vandalism and are "getting them right". Thanks also for starting to use edit summaries, even if I don't edit as much as I would like to at the page I do have it on my watchlist and see the progress you are making.

Because you have been so active, I wanted to get your opinion on something I'm planning. As the notable album list is approaching completion, I'm thinking of updating the list with a wider range of albums, mostly with albums with gold and platinum certification. This would include any english speaking country that has a certification program (US, UK, Austrailia, Canada). You may have seen it on my To Do List. I think the list is going to be ~10,000 items long.

I do not want to create this new list until the current list is finished, but would still like to include the items from the previous list because some items might have been deleted accidently. Also these lists tend to rot a little bit and redlinks from "completed" items reappear. I'm thinking about upping the removal criteria as well, say an infobox and a paragraph on the album.

Your thoughts are appreciated, especially on how to make it easier to find/remove/add items. (you can reply here). --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 17:51, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You may also want to consider leaving comments for items you have checked, but have not moved/removed. This way others know that it has been checked. Also when all of the items have been checked, they can be organized by what remains to be done - see the colleges and universities page. Thanks again! --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 17:59, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Missing TV articles

[edit]

How do I sign up to volunteer for the Missing TV encyclopedia articles project? Do I just add my name to the list of "This project is maintained by...", or something else? Eyeball kid 19:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only is for the larger project - Missing encyclopedic articles, which the songs/albums/film/TV show is part. I added the maintained template in case others might be interested or have questions about what to do. FYI, you never need anyone's "permission" to work on articles. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 20:23, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

question

[edit]

Concerning the missing TV articles thing, should we take shows off the list if they have an anime infobox? Eyeball kid 22:44, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been real mixed about what to do about those. Before I've been labelling them anime infobox and leaving them on the list so that if they need to be dealt with they can be identified pretty easily. But since we can use the "What links here" you don't have to if you don't want to. There is enough work with that list without having to create more. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 13:29, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Gris-Gris, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Gris-Gris. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Television Personalities

[edit]

Unfortunately for grammar obsessives like us, the album title really was "Your" and not "You're". I made that same mistake some years ago as you can probably find in the edit histories for TVP, but it was reverted then too. See http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51HRNDYA6QL._SS500_.jpg for image of album cover, complete with abominable grammar. Ringbark 09:04, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you write this article? You wrote the article about their only album, Cardinal (album). A user tried to propose deletion on it, but it would seem that the band is notable by WP:MUSIC#6 (having a member notable from other work). However, it's very strange to have an album page without a page on the band (usually those pages are deleted as non-notable, and then the album ones follow). You may want to merge the album page into the band page, if you don't know much to say about the band. Rigadoun (talk) 05:51, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Suitcase 3: Up We Go Now has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unremarkable, unreleased recording. Does not meet WP:NALBUMS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 02:15, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Suitcase 3: Up We Go Now requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Pdcook (talk) 02:38, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Suitcase 3: Up We Go Now. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suitcase 3: Up We Go Now. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(English below)

Agradecemos desde já!

Hi! Wikimedia Portugal is the Portuguese chapter of Wikimedia, founded in 2009 and recognized by the Wikimedia Foundation. Our mission is to contribute to the general dissemination of knowledge and culture through the incentive to the collection and creation of content without restrictions on use, modification and distribution, and promote their difusion; we promote and support the Wikimedia Foundation projects, among which Wikipedia, with emphasis on projects in Portuguese and Mirandese.

We would like however to count on the support of (and in turn ourselves support) all volunteers that are citizens, resident, or simply interested in Portugal. Despite being founded in 2009, the chapter has gone through a long period of inactivity that we are trying to overcome. We have sent you this message to invite you, if you are interested, to enroll as associate to the chapter, demonstrate your support to the existence of a chapter in Portugal, and get involved in the discussion of future activities by registering in the mailing list. Recentely, the Wikimedia Affiliations Committee suspended support to Wikimedia Portugal pending, among other things, the support from the community of portuguese editors. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2023–24 Coupe de France preliminary rounds, Paris-Île-de-France, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page FC Fleury 91.
