Welcome!

Hello, Event24, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

Hello Event24. While we welcome newcomers to all topics on Wikipedia, you should know that starting your adventure here by adding material without discussion to a contentious article in the midst of a controversy is likely to cause the other editors to consider that your reason for being at WP is not necessarily with the good of the project upppermost in your mind. I suggest that you look carefully at the guidleines for "single purpose accounts", and also at the policy pages on conflict of interest and neutral point of view Please do come to my talk page if I can help you in any way. Please propose your changes on the Talk page of the article. Sometimes being bold can be equated with being disruptive. Thank you. // BL \\ (talk) 16:51, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Event24, please learn about the key policies and guidelines of wikipedia first. Don't rush off and start adding or revising contents in the article. I made a few mistakes initially because I was not aware of wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and the corrections of those mistakes took us (the other editors and myself) quite a bit of time and effort.
I also strongly encourage that you to take some time to browse through the discussion page: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:New_Creation_Church. You may want to skip the other topics, and start reading from item 9 onwards.
It is also a good practice to fill up the 'Edit summary' box each time after you made a new edit or a new comment. This will prove helpful to yourself and the other editors when it comes to reviewing what has been happening to the article (e.g. which editor has made what kind of changes to the article): http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=New_Creation_Church&action=history. The same applies to the discussion page as well: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk:New_Creation_Church&action=history
I am also a green horn myself - this is just my 20th day as a wikipedian. But do feel free to drop me a note in my talk page: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Tanlipkee, if you should have any questions. I'll do my best to help. Cheers. Tanlipkee (talk) 17:16, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Welcome to wikipedia.

To avoid making mistakes and causing yourself and others to expend time and efforts in correcting those mistakes, you are strongly encouraged to read up on the key policies and guidelines of wikipedia before you proceed with your editorial contributions.

To start with, the key policies and guidelines I believe you should familiarize yourself with are as follows:

1. Neutral point of view: WP:NPV

2. Verifiability: WP:V

3. No original research: WP:OR

4. Good faith: WP:GOODFAITH

5. Civility: WP:CIVIL

Hope you will enjoy being a wikipedian!

And yes, make it a habit to sign off by typing four tildes (i.e. type ~ 4 times) every time after you have made a comment or an edit.

Avoid getting involved in emotional debates with other editors

[edit]

Hi. I thought it will be good to advise you from the onset to avoid getting provoked by other editors, but to stay as calm and as neutral as possible. Remember that wikipedia is not a battlegroundWP:NOTSOAPBOX. Stay rested and blessed. Shalom. Tanlipkee (talk) 05:15, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
