Geo Storm article

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you left me a message on my talk page about the Geo Storm article, so I'll go ahead and speak. Anyway, the reason why I tagged it was because it doesn't seem to be organized quite well. A table like the ones I have been adding to stubs recently would help. You can try copy-pasting the table from the Dodge Spirit article to the Storm article and add any necessary information. For example, I think the "Dimensions" section would work better if the actual dimensions were posted on a table instead of a separate section. Also, treat the article as if it were going to be entered in a printed encyclopedia. After all, Wikipedia IS an encyclopedia, right? Hope this helps! --ApolloBoy 00:26, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Autocross + FF

[edit]

I was just making observations based on national results, the winners in most stock classes (except A stock) are dominated by FF type cars, like the Integra, Celica, and Mini Cooper S. I'll re-word it so it doesn't say preferred.. Something like 'perform well'? Morwan 11:54, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I liked the "fairly popular" that you went with. Some classes (e.g. H-stock) are almost entirely FF, so naturally the winners are FF. That doesn't mean FF is the best way to go, just that it is a common, inexpensive layout. Evenprime 15:51, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Storm

[edit]

That article looks great, one of the best rookie efforts I've seen. With a little more work it could be a Featured Article. One problem is that it is very vague on geography. The article never says where the car was sold, and statements like "they are still fairly common in the used car market" need to be specified, as they probably don't apply to the entire world. I would also consider dumping Image:1993geostorm.jpg, the article has a number of good free use pictures, so there is no reason to keep a somewhat dubious fair use one. - SimonP 15:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the input. I'll try to get some geography info, and I will loose the commercial picture as soon as I get an equivalent one for that model year.
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Asept05-33.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. ZsinjTalk 00:35, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GeoStorm table

[edit]

For the images, pick the ones that best illustrate what is being said in the text (ie. whatever the modifications were on). As for the table, consider something like this. That table is just a result of copy&pasting from another article. It may work out good or it may not. It is just an idea to consider. --maclean25 20:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Storm Images

[edit]

did you take those pictures in the Geo Storm article? Their copyright status is the only thing holding it back from becoming featured. --Karrmann

All the images except one are ones I took. My dad took the one of me driving with the wheel off the ground. (I had another autocross picture in the article - one I took of my dad autocrossing the same car - but removed it because apolloboy said there was too much motorsports emphasis.) Tell me how to set the copywrite on these pictures so it is no longer a problem.... Evenprime 03:30, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clearing up those issues, Evenprime. It's too bad that it seemed to happen too late for the FA to happen -- I would have been happy to change my vote once that problem was solved.--Bcrowell 01:59, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure it is too late? The page is still a candidate? Evenprime 17:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats

The Original Barnstar
I hereby award you the original barnstar for your contributions to the Geo Storm article. Karrmann 01:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC) Karrmann[reply]

Put this on your Userpage! --Karrmann

Thank you! I will continue trying to improve it. I've added a table to the year to year changes section, and will be taking more photos to finish it out.

Geo Storm FAC

[edit]

I noticed you got the Geo Storm up as a FAC again, so here is a step by step process of what to do.

1. Add the tag to the talk page you've already done that 2. now here. I already blanked that page. Add to it the reason why you think it should be featured. 3. add this

((Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Geo Storm))

to the top of the list on this article and you will be good to go!

If you need further assistance, fell free to PM me! --Karrmann

Please note that the ref/note format for referencing has been discontinued in favour of the more advanced <ref> and <references/> tags. Cheers, Ansell Review my progress! 23:17, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gerardo Bonilla, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gerardo Bonilla is a test page.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gerardo Bonilla, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. File permission problem with File:StormAutoX.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:StormAutoX.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 10:26, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
