I disagree with your removal of the see also link to GIS for geographic search engines. GIS was around much longer and the difference is only in how business products are marketed recently. All GIS systems intrinsically are about searching, it is just not marketed as such. This is just a common problem of understanding the technology in a business sense. GIS is entirely about search. There is no special type of "GIS about search" that is not GIS itself. I think you are being overly strict in your cutting of the definitions and I think this is narrowminded. Anyways, whatever, just trying to help, no need to put it back.Josh Froelich 14:20, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I went and found the fact for you, see GIS#Web_mapping. Now tell me why you don't think this link belongs? Josh Froelich 22:34, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Image:Lee Fisher Ohio.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Lee Fisher Ohio.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 05:39, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Tom Lehrer reviews

I see that you reverted my Note on the Tom Lehrer page. Did you think that it was inaccurate, or simply not appropriate? Do you know that the blurbs were in fact taken from the newspapers cited? Paul 15:31, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Apologies - I failed to read the Talk page before I added my "two cents"! I found the first quote in The New York Times archives, and I will take Mr Lehrer's word for the others. Paul 15:39, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

List of search engines should not contain redirects?

Hello Eurekalott. Someone just reverted your change to List of search engines, that you had made with this comment:

(→Kids' Search Engines - removing section that contains a redirect and an article on a portal)

I didn't like the reversion without comment, but I thought I'd wait to hear arguments about the implied rule. The concept of 'no redirects' might have value. Do you want to state a proposed criterion on the article Talk page? EdJohnston 15:29, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I dislike emoticons...

Why did you delete the addition on Historic Churches in Cleveland?

Dear Eureka, I don't understand how you could have written churches have nothing to do with tourism? Churches are one of the bases of Architectural tours, like the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris or St. Patrick's Cathedral on Manhattan. This is a tourist staple, and I challenge you to find a large city that doesn't promote architectural tourism to HISTORIC-LANDMARK churches/ synagogues/ temples. These links would enlighten you in the case of Cleveland: http://cleveland.about.com/od/architectureandbuildings/ss/tremontchurches.htm http://cleveland.about.com/od/neighborhoods/ss/slavicvillage_6.htm

I hope that this will clear up the matter-

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Richard Jacobs, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - Tiswas(t) 16:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC) (added as a courtesy, as you are the most recent contributor)

Category:All-America City

Well, I thought I checked before doing the listify for a CfD discussion. Apparently there was not one. So, this is a deletion out of process if anyone wants to challenge it. Maybe we need to check everything in the listify category to see if there are more traps lying in wait. There is so much that we all want to do and the queue of maintenance work is so large one wonders if we will ever catch up without making mistakes. Thanks for pointing this out. I also deleted the talk page which I guess the bots leave. Vegaswikian 23:58, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Dark city soundtrack.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dark city soundtrack.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:22, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Cuyahoga County townships

Could you find an online list or give me a book title that has all the defunct townships in Cuyahoga County? It seems from that map that one or more townships had already been completely annexed, and at least West Park Township hadn't been created yet. Nyttend 00:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks much. It's a pity that the county didn't do like most other counties and just leave the townships as they were, instead of splitting them up into new little townships in the twentieth century. Ah well... Nyttend 13:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Cleveland, Ohio FAR

Cleveland, Ohio has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here.--Loodog 00:37, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

...might as well protect Lewis Mumford

The others reverted it minutes after your warning. they haven't been open to negotiation from the beginning despite appeasement. although may I add that they do not care about the article being protected because they have never contributed anything to it, so protecting it for none to edit will doubtfully give them incentive to discuss. Yeago 16:56, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

actually we both invited yeago to make your case in discussion many times. I took it to discussion when i reverted because our case has been made solidly on the basis of non-encyclopedic content, trivia. in any case, i think yeago have shown that he are not inclined to play by the rules as he just reverted for the 4th time today by making an edit and not rv. --Buridan 17:21, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, EurekaLott; book sources need page nos, so it will probably be easier to add them when you add the cite book, so you don't have to go back and look them up. I tagged a couple, but you might not have noticed yet. I'm also curious about the exact quote that compares Cleveland to Fifth Avenue; I admit having a hard time with that one :-) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:54, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your message http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User_talk:213.10.194.13&redirect=no. I thought these external links would add to the article: they give the visitor a chance to learn further about lifestyles and governance online. The information on the external link cannot be included into the article, it being an integral learning environment. There is no commercial intent behind the digital learning environment, it is entirely open source.

I thought based on this, the external links would meet with the Wiki criteria for adding external links.

So please help me understand why you removed them?

Powerset (corporation) is probably notable enough to deserve a real article, if someone wanted to write it

Hi EurekaLott. Looking over the press coverage of Powerset, it seems that it is notable as a venture capital investment. This is not to quarrel with your speedy deletion at all. Myself I don't have the the time to write a real article, but if someone wanted to do it, it might help to forestall the numerous recreations. Even a two or three sentence article might be sufficient. EdJohnston 18:12, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Excuse me but...

Do you even have a life? You do understand that there is FAR more to life than going around editing various articles in hopes of "making a difference". I mean, honestly, will it matter in 100 years whether or not someone properly notated a free-licensing copyright on an obscure out of the way picture from a person that died 13 years ago? No. It won't matter. I'm sorry you live the miserable existence that you do.

Hello EurekaLott. I am an editor who has been heavily involved with Youngstown, Ohio. It has been peer reviewed twice and is now up for its second FA nom. I have been quite attached to the article and feel that some fresh eyes to read it over would be beneficial. If you have some time, please give it a read and give some comments if you are able.
