Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Etzel Provence, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Etzel Provence, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

help me
My father was a very important musician from the island of Curaçao. And placed all his info on the Wikipedia. He died 4 years ago. And I dont see my fathers name on Wikipedia. But I do see his best friend Angel Salsbach he created the trio The Salsbach jazz trio. Angel played bass and my Father the piano. My fathers legacy should be noted on Wikipedia. So this info should not be deleted! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Etzel Provence (talkcontribs) 22:23, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Regardless of whether or not your father is notable (i.e. whether he is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article), I would like to point out two things: 1. Your attempt on your user page (that was deleted) consisted of just copy and pasting a CV in Dutch. 2. As you are related to the subject, you have a conflict of interest (see information/explanation in separate message below).
As also linked in my welcome message above, if you are confident that the person is notable enough for an article (see WP:N), you have two options:
  1. You may follow the steps outlined on this page: Wikipedia:Articles for creation.
  2. You may also request an article for the person by adding it here: Wikipedia:Requested articles/music/Performers, bands and songwriters (see instructions at the top of that page).
For both options, you're going to need to provide reliable, independent, 3rd party sources sources, which your previous attempt did not include. I would also advise against merely repeating your previous attempt using the first option, as there's no chance of that being accepted as an article.
I also noticed that the other person you mentioned doesn't have an article (and is, in fact, not mentioned at all) on the English Wikipedia, only on the Dutch one (nl:Angel Salsbach). Considering that (and the fact that you posted a message in Dutch here), you may also want to try to find help there, perhaps by contacting the creator of the article on Salsbach (their talk page: nl:Overleg_gebruiker:Carib93).
