[edit]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Orange Mike | Talk 07:01, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

hey we aren't trying to advertise or promote, we acknowledge that we have a COI but also that there's a article for our client which has a COI banner at the top of it -we've just been trying to find an editor who will oversee some edits that we want to make in an ethical and neutral way as per the COI policy on our clients article page so that there's no longer non neutral language so that it's in line with the wikipedia standard of article, which we're advocates for, that's all, thanks! --Eternitygrubagency (talk) 05:28, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Any user name containing the phrase "eternity grub" is going to be disallowed as being promotional. Note also that Wikipedia does not allow advertisements in any form, and if you are employed by eternity grub then you have a conflicy of interest by definition. Note further that Wikipedia accounts are to be used by one person only, not by agencies.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 16:29, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No worries about the above reason - I could start a new account under my own name (Sarah) and acknowledge my COI (I know I have a COI, not trying to hide it - have announced it on multiple occasions to different admins etc) - I'm not trying to promote I'm just trying to find an admin who will oversee modifications to my clients page that will bring it in line with wikipedia standard and have the banner at the top of it removed. Also I've actually never edited a page (if you look through my history), only talked to admins about the possibility of them overseeing a page edit to bring it into line with wiki standard. Could I be unblocked please so that I can operate under my own name while fulling acknowleding my COI and not actually making an edits but making edit suggstions to other admins of the article that I'm trying to fix up for both wikipedia standard and my client standard? I feel like it's a win win, especially when I'm acknowledging COI and saving the wiki admins the time by making the edit suggestions for them to verify instead of asking anyone to actully do the research and editing labour themselves? The admin who I have been in touch with about this is El_C - if you check their talk page you can see my discussion with them under the title "COI assistance". Thanks!

Accept reason:

It looks as though you've understood the COI policy and intend to edit in accordance with this; since the username issue is now resolved I see no reason not to lift the block. I would suggest that you add one of these templates to your userpage in order to comply with the paid editing policy and Wikimedia Terms of Use, but since you can't do that until the block is lifted it seems a bit churlish to make that a requirement. Block removed. Yunshui  09:32, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Just Chilling, SarahLombellard would be great, thanks for helping a novice through another wiki naivety of hers. --Eternitygrubagency (talk) 12:21, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Username change completed. An uninvolved admin will be along in due course to assess your unblock request. Just Chilling (talk) 19:42, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned on User_talk:El_C#COI_assistance, I'd been happy to assist. Unfortunately, there was no followup. El_C 04:35, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah all good El_C, haven't been able to chat further with you as the account got blocked, so just trying to sort that out at the moment. Thanks for getting back to me about it! Will get in touch once I've (hopefully) got this account sorted out!. --Eternitygrubagency (talk) 09:55, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
