The article you created at Edward stein was listed for deletion as An article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, criterion 7 in the criteria for speedy deletion, Articles section. Since it appears to be about you I've moved it to your user space instead, which was probably what you intended in the first place (a common mistake among newcomers!).

If you really did mean to create an article about yourself please be aware that this is often considered a bad idea, even if you do meet the guidelines for inclusion of biographies.

I know Wikipedia can be confusing for new editors, so you are welcome to ask for help at the help desk or on my talk page. -- Gogo Dodo 18:01, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Edward Stein, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Doo-dle-doo 18:05, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mr. Stein, I would like to welcome you to the Wikipedia. However, unless your father is an extremely notable person, I would recommend you stop making pages about him. See Wikipedia:Notability for more information. Thank you. Have a nice day. Doo-dle-doo 18:18, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

very well... i apologize for any inconvenience i have caused. Have a nice day.

Recreating a deleted page

[edit]

Hello. Please don't re-create the deleted page on Edward Stein. If you'd like to create an article on a person, please review the notability criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. Specifically, a person should generally be mentioned in independent, reliable secondary sources so that we can build a neutral, encyclopedic article about them. The article needs to have such evidence of notability at the time of creation, or it's prone to be speedily deleted. If you'd like to work on the page in private to get it ready, you can create a page in your userspace (e.g. User:Estein9/Edward Stein) and work on it till it has the appopriate evidence of notability.

Please don't keep recreating the deleted article without such evidence; at some point, doing so becomes disruptive and can lead to your account being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please let me know if you have any questions. MastCell Talk 18:18, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've again recreated the page. I'm not trying to be difficult, but this is not the right way to go about this. Please ask me for help if you need it on how to create this page in your userspace (you can click on this redlink: User:Estein9/Edward Stein), where you can work on it in peace until it's encyclopedic. Items in the encyclopedia need to be ready to go, with at least some evidence of notability, from the start. Please work on the page using the above redlink, in your userspace, until it has some content and evidence of notability. Then, if you think it's ready, I'll be happy to help you move it into the encyclopedia. MastCell Talk 18:25, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
