Overlinking

[edit]

Hi, please take a look at WP:Overlinking, and avoid making large numbers of repeated links to the same pages, e.g. to "Allison". Hope this helps. – Fayenatic London 20:43, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Fayenatic london:: I coulda swore that this occurs commonly with tables, and that some particular MOS is normally cited as the reason why. My only problem is with linking the bus numbers. This assumes that the individual buses or groupings of buses are notable, which is laughable.
Now, a question for Esteban. In the late 1970s/early 1980s, I remember seeing a small handful of 1950s-vintage buses operating, mostly on the Government Hill and Mountain View routes. As I knew all the drivers back then (ah, the good ol' days: I even shared a joint with a couple drivers on break, inside one of the buses, in the Dimond Center parking lot once upon a time — I presume that the statute of limitations has expired and therefore I can admit that, not to mention that one of those drivers is for certain deceased), at least one of them told me that these buses were holdovers from the private companies which preceded the People Mover (in fact, after the People Mover launched, the private companies were still serving Government Hill and Elmendorf due to pre-existing contracts those companies had with the Air Force, which ended when the contracts ended). Could I be confusing these with the 1960s models you listed? I'm pretty sure these buses were older than that.
Also, I believe that the Thomas Built buses sold to MACS have since been sold off into private hands. People Mover used them very briefly in a dial-a-ride service, one of countless short-lived attempts to provide some sort of service to Hillside and Chugiak/Eagle River neighborhoods. With the sole exception of those buses, MACS has run Gillig buses exclusively since 1983. I remember that MACS didn't keep them around very long, either. When they did run them, the drivers complained about them all the time. I faintly remember that they were used on "rural routes" until they decided to run converted paratransit vans on those routes instead. Deletion discussion about An American Holiday

[edit]

Hello, Esteban in Hemet,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether An American Holiday should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/An American Holiday .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Joel.Miles925 (talk) 23:45, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cartoon Network (Central and Eastern Europe), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
