Hermann Bottcher
[edit]Hello Esteban, it is always a pleasure to hear from you. Hermann Bottcher is one of my favorite military heroes. The picture looks fine, but in order for it to stay in Wikipedia because of the copyright issues the following must be done. First of all the person who took the picture is the copyright owner. If the copyright was transferred to the family and they want to upload it to Wikipedia then they have to give Wikipedia the right to use them by requesting an “OTRS” ticket before the picture could be posted.
The owner of the copyright must fill this out:
"I _____, as the copyright holder of the image attached/in https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Capt_Hermann_Bottcher_1944.jpeg, agree to release in under the terms of GFDL. I understand that this allows anyone to use the image for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as the constraints in the license, like attribution, are respected."
Plus this one for the image uploaded in Commons:
"I _____, as the copyright holder of the image attached/in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1._Hermann_Photo_1944_2.jpeg, agree to release in under the terms of GFDL. I understand that this allows anyone to use the image for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as the constraints in the license, like attribution, are respected."
After these are signed the copyright holder must e-mail both permits to “OTRS”: "permissions-en@wikimedia.org" himself/herself.
“OTRS” will grant a ticket number once they approve the images and then the image can be used in the article.
I hope that this helps. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:29, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
