Frithjof Schuon
Having known Frithjof Schuon as his wife and very close disciple for 20 years, I quite know him; but I can also prove what I say. Does someone want photographs and quotes from scholars and Sufi masters, originals of handwritten letters? It is a shame that the Wikipedia article as it reads now makes him out to be a very great man. He was immoral and his doctrines sound sublime, but are contradicted by all the greatest Sufi masters. Those who were bamboozled have whitewashed BOTH his life AND his doctrine. There are blatant lies in the text. I can easily send quotations against his position by René Guénon, his own Shaykh and others. It seems one is not permitted to add links to articles online so I cannot direct readers to sites showing signed, legal affidavits of witnesses to immoral acts, and photographs of himself and his wives naked. The sites and texts proving what I say, are far too long to post on Wikipedia; but I sure would send them personally to an editor...aiming to help people who come to this extremely biased text. - Hi Maude, I'm really sorry that you are in this position, but it's not a matter of sending the materials to an individual editor: the materials need to be verifiable by anyone viewing the article, whether editors or readers. So you have to provide inline citations / references for all significant facts added to the article. The citations need to point to reliable, independent sources, which can be newspaper items (global, national, regional or even local papers), radio or television, web pages or online documents (eg PDFs), magazine articles, journals, or books. Note that self-published materials are not reliable secondary sources. Also, since you have a conflict of interest, you would need to suggest changes on the article's talk page, rather than making changes yourself. Again, I appreciate your situation, and I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. Esowteric+Talk 15:12, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- Once your book is published, if it's reviewed in reliable, secondary sources (eg mainstream media), then you could probably use the content of those reviews to suggest additions to the Wikipedia article. Esowteric+Talk 15:21, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
I just wrote you a long explanation; but maybe lost it in technology. I'm 81 years old: this isn't easy! And sorry if I broke some rule: I had no idea what aha words meant! Maude Murray (talk) 14:15, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Maude, I'm sorry: Wikipedia editing is a steep learning curve and, as you say, it's not at all easy. If you want changes to be made at the Frithjof Schuon page, you could suggest those changes at the Frithjof Schuon talk page. Esowteric+Talk 10:14, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- [Moved here from my user page]: I have the hardest time using this talk page, and cannot find mentions when it seems I should only tap the word mention. Cant some nice human-being just send me an email: murraymaude57@gmail.com. Maude Murray (talk) 11:33, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Maude, the issues you raise really need to be handled on your behalf by someone who has expert knowledge of Frithjof Schuon, and the best place to make contact with such as person is the Frithjof Schuon talk page. I'll copy your text (above) to that talk page and maybe other editors will be able to help you, perhaps by email. Regards, Esowteric+Talk 10:49, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
[Moved here from my user page]: And dear Esowteric, I gather from your chosen name that you are an editor for subjects deemed "esoteric?" In that case, maybe I could explain the difference between real and heterodox esoterism as regards the Religio perennis, or Perennialism - the doctrine that all religions are the same in their "heart." The problem is that I'm not a genius or a lawyer. I can quote the greatest saints and scholars, quote the Quran and the hadiths of Muhammad, to show you that Wikipedia is presenting Frithjof Schuon's catastrophic heresy as being something holy and sublime. I'm just awfully old at 81 and terribly busy. If this gets too automated, I'll do what Muslims are told to do: Leave everything up to God. According to a very famous hadith, I'm required to use reason, to try, to talk... Only AFTER THAT may I trust in Him. But where, how I can talk to you in this system: That is a puzzle! - My username is simply my surname reversed, followed by my first name, btw. Esowteric+Talk 11:10, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

A cupcake for you!
A small reward for the effort you've put in trying to help Maude. Unfortunately some editors are so deeply attached to their COI that trying to help them edit is ultimately futile. Cabayi (talk) 08:01, 3 August 2020 (UTC) |
