This article is about a film that was directed 1985 by Melissa Llewelyn-Davies called, The Women's Olamal: The Organization of a Maasai Fertility Ceremony. The main focus within the film is to bless the woman so her fertility is at a higher rate. Fertility is crucial within this society; it determines if the woman will be alone or not in their life. There are many obstacles though when it does come to this society. There are many tensions between the men and woman.

Hi - It's good to see you're getting started in the wiki project - let me know if you have any questions -- Reel315 (talk) 16:47, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User Page vs. Talk Page

[edit]

Hi - Glad to see this! the content for the Lead and the article references are a great start. One technical difficulty (very easy as the tabs up top are very lively)... this content all needs to go back to the Sandbox (page whose name is User:Eshafer45/Sandbox). This page is actually the "Talk Page" where we can communicate. Talk pages aren't as easy to edit because they don't use the Visual Editor (you have to use the wiki code). The easy thing to do is just take your content i this talk page, and flip to the userpage Eshafer45/sandbox; open the Edit Tab, and then type or paste the talk page content that's relevant to the article into the Sandbox. I'll look for it there. Reel315 (talk) 14:28, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

While the Draft is Still Very small...

[edit]

Oct. 10 - You can move this work to your general sandbox, or to the special article sandbox (your username/ article name) that wiki has been generating. Just go to the sandbox, flip the tab to "edit" mode and then you are good to go to put the outline, Lead, and synopsis into a sandbox. Not sure if you're in a sandbox page or on a Talk page, check the tab at the top - if the tab is "white" that's what you're in. It will say "talk" or "User Page" .....Always start with User page and then go to "Edit" from that one to work in the sandbox. Start from the Talk page if you'd like to leave a comment! (Always find to do that) C.H. Reel315 (talk) 15:03, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Moving to the Sandbox page

[edit]

Oct 28 -- Hi - a quick note, you can move the Lead and other information into the sandbox ("edit" and then copy, then open the sand box and paste.) Also, to make it easier to "see" the article in the sandbox page, put the outline headings in (none for the lead, but everything else has one). It's great to see the content is starting to come into the article. Contact Ian if you have tech questions, for other questions let me know. Reel315 (talk) 22:04, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article Citations

[edit]

13 Nov 2020 -- Before you move your article from the sandbox to the the mainspace, be sure ("be very sure") that you have 2-3 in-line citations that cite reviews and other works in anthropology journals; the sandbox needs this! This is an easy fix. Reel315 (talk) 19:26, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In-line citations, using Headings

[edit]

15 Nov., this is growing nicely - good to see some bibligraphy added too. Needs: insert the outline and those should be formatted as Headers ("Synopsis," "Production"). Move info up to where it belongs (I think there is a lead afterthe synopsis). Some info looks like the germ of your production and maybe the background sections. Add inline citations (use the citations menu), again, see if you can add more references from anthro journal articles that are about this film. Reel315 (talk) 16:50, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Needs headings, citation, many sections need to be inserted

[edit]

19 Nov - be sure to insert the headings for separate sections of the article. It's a long film, consider if you want to insert subheadings in the synopsis Citations - add inline citations (if you don't recall how, contact me) Other sections - be sure to insert the headings as per the Outline for the article (contact me if you have questions) Reel315 (talk) 15:20, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
