User talk:EscapeArtistsNeverDie
Welcome
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Just a few quick tips:
- Our Tutorial explains how to edit; you can experiment in the test area.
- We have help pages, and if they don't help (can happen :-), post a question at the Help Desk.
- Remember that we strive to have unbiased articles.
- Eventually, you might want to read our Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Use the "Preview" button below the edit box! It helps you catch layout, format, and spelling errors before saving.
- To sign your messages (to talk pages, for instance—like I do below), add four tildes (~~~~) to your posts. The software will replace them by your signature and a time stamp when you save the page.
Anyway, have fun improving this encyclopedia! Lupo 08:06, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
Info on images
[edit]Please go to Image:Rmn.JPG and edit that image description page to give the source (URL, if online; ISBN, if scanned from a book; and if you've taken the image yourself, just say so) and the licensing status (the list of image copyright tags might be useful) of this image. All our images should have this information. Thank you. Lupo 08:06, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
- Ease the panic, OK? From what I can see, the images are obviously drawn by EscapeArtistsNeverDie, from images he got on Wikipedia. Nikola 10:38, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
- No panic here, but producing such a strips by ripping off random images from Google is just a copyvio. Period. Whether he assembled the strips himself is immaterial. See e.g. Image:Sln.JPG. Lupo 09:32, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

People portrayed in your pictures
[edit]Could you please verify who are portrayed in this picture that you uploaded? I guessed Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka, Albert Szent-Györgyi, János Bolyai, and Lajos Batthyány, but I'm not completely sure of them. -- Adam78 20:07, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
I'm making a new one with the following (in order):
Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka, János Bolyai, Loránd Eötvös, Jozsef Eotvos
Two Eotvos just for kicks.
Mcdslv.JPG
[edit]Hello, could you please tell me who the people in this picture are. I think that Czar Samuil and St Cyril are there, but who are the others? REX 19:56, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Grigor Prličev, Konstantin Miladinov
[edit]The image you uploaded, Image:Arm.JPG, has no no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

Incorrect use of GFDL-self tag
[edit]Hi,
I removed the GFDL-self tag from a few of your "strips" of pictures because it's an incorrect use of the tag. You're the author of the "strip" compilation, but you're not the author of the individual pictures, so GFDL-self is the wrong tag to use.
If all the pics are in the public domain, as I suspect is the case with the old paintings, then I would suggest a PD tag. There are a few photographs, though, which may or may not be in the public domain, so you would have to research those and tag appropriately, or remove them if they're copyrighted and there's no fair use.
Could you go through all your "strips" and change the tag to one that's more appropriate? I didn't have time to search through them all and remove GDFL-self (and certainly didn't have the time to research them to find out what the proper tags actually are).
By the way, I like the strips, I'm not attacking them or anything. Thanks - Tempshill 00:19, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Alright. I'll use the PD tags I guess.
Copyright tagging
[edit]Hi, I'm curious where you got the image Image:McdSlvs2.JPG. You claim it to be a copyrighted work with no works reserved, but you don't specify the source. Thanks. -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 17:19, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Janpolack.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Janpolack.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Agnte 18:22, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
I believe the article should be eligible for a "speedy delete". However, after I added the {{speedy}} template, an admin took it off as redundant with the existing AfD (btw, you didn't complete all the three required AfD steps, I finished the rest for you). However, I believe that if you as AfD nominator changed it to a "speedy", the admin would have to be OK with that (see edit history for tag details). Of course, if you do not think speedy is the right mechanism, please disregard this idea. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 04:26, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
List of anti-abortion people
[edit]"Delete oooh ooh I was waiting for shit like this to delete"
Remarks like this are not helpful. AfD is for discussion, not flames. See the Wikipedia:Civility policy for more information. Gazpacho 19:11, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Yet another image with no source
[edit]The image you uploaded, Image:TeslaThinker.jpg, has no no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. You claim the image is "one of the most recognizable" in the edit coment of the Tesla article yet it appears nowhere in the first 800 images of a google search. Unless the copyright status and source is provided, the image will be marked for deletion.

You are blocked
[edit]Despite warnings, you have repeatedly uploaded images:
- with no source
- with misleading claims of public domain or self-copyright.
I blocked you for one month (and this will stay unless you provide a sensible explanation here), and you will be blocked for longer periods if you start again. David.Monniaux 16:07, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Crts3.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Crts3.JPG. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below).
If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

Image copyright problem with Image:Brunovsky-cesta.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Brunovsky-cesta.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Teslabust.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Teslabust.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Replaceable fair use Image:Sln.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sln.JPG. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Evil Spartan 00:46, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
