- If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
- Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.

I think your comments at Talk:Pope are very confused; I've added some of my own. Michael Hardy 23:28, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hello! Your additions to the Epilepsy article don't conform to the Wikipedia definition of a 'minor' edit, which you marked them as. Minor edits are things such as correction of spelling or grammatical errors, or adding brackets to a term to make it into a wiki link. You inserted a couple of paragraphs of new content; that's not a minor edit.
With regard to what you wrote: some of the things you wrote do not apply to all kinds of seizures, others were confusing, and still other parts were simply incorrect. I've fixed this. -Ikkyu2 22:04, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

Simple English Wikipedia religious content
[edit]Feel free to give me an idea which articles you think are needed or need improvement relative to religious ideas in general in the Simple English wikipedia, and I can at least inform all the relevant religion-related projects about that. We do now have a monthly "challenge" competition for WikiProject Christianity for creation of new articles, and I personally can reasonably think that we could include articles in the Simple English Wikipedia in that challenge as well. God knows I am not the one to necessarily look to for writing simple sentences, but with a little effort I can do so. If you want, we can set up a list at User:John Carter/Simple English wikipedia for all the articles you think need work, and we can at least try to get a little attention to them. John Carter (talk) 19:12, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I have created Religion-related worklist (which I have also advertised on Simple English); I propose to use it as a forum of exchange. Thanks for helping. :) --Eptalon (talk) 20:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello,
As one of the participants in the original Village Pump RFC about getting the Simple Wiki to the top of the Languages, you are invited to participate in the reopened discussion of the same. Your feedback will be appreciated.

- Hello,
- It seems you have not recorded your !vote at the RFC on the pump. Was that intentionally a comment or was it a genuine mistake? TheOriginalSoni (talk) 23:51, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Look at where my edits are. I think gien that it was probably obvious this is not an oppose.... --Eptalon (talk) 00:02, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Actually the votes section has also become the place where we are discussing. So I think it might be clearer and better if you clarify your stance. It just might be a close call there! TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:15, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited St. Nicolas Church, Nuneaton, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Church. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi Eptalon. Thank you for your work on ATM blow up. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thank you creating this translation from the German article. A key issue is the title, which readers a little like an awkward neologism in English. The Automated teller machine article gives up and uses the Dutch plofkraak to describe this type of attack, so there is an argument for a page move. There's also duplication with the relevant paragraph in Automated teller machine#Physical which might be an argument in favor of a merge to that page. Given the origin of the translation, there is a German bias in the examples, and so including examples from a broader range of countries would be helpful; more sources in English would be helpful too.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}
. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
Klbrain (talk) 08:05, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Klbrain: - Hello Klbrain, yes, I am aware of the awkward title. There might be a German bias (focusing on events that happened in Germany. As I pointed out on the talk page of the article, I don't know what this kind of robbery is called in English. When translating my idea was to also show that in many cases, the damage caused by trying to access the machine is usually much higher than the actual amount of money in the machine. Note also, that people 'break into' vending machines (where there is even less money), and that in recent times, financial institutions implemented methods that make the money unusable. As to broadening the context: When there is no English word for this, searching sources is difficult. Also note that the Dutch 'kraak' seems to stand for the crime of breaking into (a home?) and steeling things from there. Automatic translation of the first few sentences of the Dutch article gives 'An explosive device is a crime in which an ATM is detonated, after which the banknotes can be taken. The criminals release an explosive gas such as acetylene into the ATM after sealing the openings in the device. The gas inside the ATM is detonated, releasing the paper money. Explosives are also used to force the cash drawer.' For me, this points to the fact that we should likely have separate articles, and not merge this into ATM. But as I say, I don't have an idea what to rename the article to.' Automatensprengung' literally translates as 'detonation/blast of an Automaton'.--Eptalon (talk) 12:29, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps a descriptive title like ATM burglaries using explosives; I see that the BBC didn't use a specific term when describing a 2022 attempted burglary in Essex. Klbrain (talk) 15:33, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
