WDW Monorail Line
I don't know what extent you did stuff with the WDW monorail s-line templates, but to me, it seems even more confusing now. In my opinion, most of your changes have made the information present even more confusing, not less. By saying that the line is circular, it is implied that it only travels in one direction (making the "One-way operation" part useless). Also, TTC is not the Terminus of any of the lines. In fact, there are no terminus-es (don't know the plural) on the line, because they are all circles. There are no ends to circles. The only place that could be considered a terminus in normal operation would be the maintenance shop, since a monorail could not continue moving forward through it. I'd like to have a discussion about this before I try to undo everything again (I was in the middle of doing it and thought this would be better). Elisfkc (talk) 07:00, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Elisfkc: Thanks for bringing your concerns up. When I rode on the monorail, I observed that the conductor always mentioned the previous stop as the last stop, and so on. (It wasn't really like that, but you can really ride forever in one of these things.) And actually, since the Epcot and express lines have two stations, it's safe to say that they both end at TTC, even though they operationally run in circles.For an example closer to my hometown, South Ferry is considered the terminus of a NYC Subway line, even though it's on a loop, so technically the train never terminates at South Ferry. However, that is how it's portrayed on maps. A similar thing applies to the Epcot line, but I don't know about the express line because the express monorail does not go back the same way it came. epicgenius (talk) 23:17, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

- Having been on it two days ago, the automated system says the stop you are approaching, the next stop, and all of the stops except the previous stop. For example, "This is Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The next stop is the Magic Kingdom, with continuing service to Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center." (as heard in the background here) Both lines do not go back the same way they came (Epcot runs through the park when heading to the Epcot Station, but not on the return.). Since they run circular and not as a shuttle service, I see them as having no termini (thanks for that). Randolph Street station (South Shore Line)
Randolph Street station (South Shore Line) and related redirects seem implausible to me; what was your reasoning behind creating them? I ask because I'm gearing up to purge all the old (NICTD) redirects and I ran across these. Best, Mackensen (talk) 15:23, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Mackensen: Randolph Street Station redirects to Millennium Station, as does Randolph Street station. I created these redirects because there are some articles (not at redirects) that are named "X station (South Shore Line)" or "X station (NICTD)", so this is a consistent naming pattern. epicgenius (talk) 15:43, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

- I don't really disapprove of keeping the NICTD redirects, because someone may still be using the old redirects (such as websites that permalink the wiki page on their sites, or people who haven't gotten used to the new naming system yet). Dempster disambig
Why move Dempster to a title with a disambiguator? The only other Dempster station already has a disambiguator in the title (-Skokie) and the Evanston station has a hatnote leading to the Skokie station. - @Lost on Belmont: The article Dempster station was moved from Dempster (CTA Purple Line station). In case there is some lingering ambiguity with the Yellow Line station, I moved the Purple Line station's article to a more descriptive title. Los Angeles
Not sure what your goal is with Los Angeles area train stations, but please review reliable sources and page discussions before moves. You created a nonsensical redirect. Metrolink and Metro are completely different systems (confusing, I know). "LACMTA" is rarely used; the common abbreviation for that system is simply "Metro". Obviously, that term on its own is still ambiguous, so earlier discussion established a consensus of "Los Angeles Metro" as the general disambiguator. If you'd like to propose a consistent disambiguation for LA Metro (not Metrolink) stations, I'd suggest the already-established "Los Angeles Metro". --Regards, James(talk/contribs) 19:28, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Metro stations
When you change the leads of train stations to omit the word "station," although that might be okay in many instances, it is not OK when the name of the station is also the name of something else, as in "Palms" (a neighborhood) and "Pershing Square" (a city park). - @BeenAroundAWhile: I don't necessarily see it that way. The reason is because the station itself is also called "Pershing Square" or "Palms," and although the station articles were moved only recently from "XXX (YYY station)" to "XXX station," the stations themselves have not changed.If we want to disambiguate the station from the "something else" that is also mentioned in the article, we can add "the XXX station" later on within the article. However, we should keep the lead simple, to just say "XXX is a station...". When we say "XXX station is a station...", we are just being redundant by saying "station" twice. epicgenius (talk) 14:31, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
LA Metro station recategorization

Just wanted to let you know that I'm going through all of the Metro Rail articles and replacing the {{LACMTA station}} with your new Allen, for example. Not sure what's left to do, but on the station list, there is quite a bit of LACMTA to replace. I just wanted to give you a heads up!

Policy regarding tenant list on buildings
Is there any policy about it? I think it should be discouraged especially when it is a bullet list, where anybody can add their company without proper references. My opinion is that only releveant companies that occupy a lot of floors can be mentiones in the body of the article, not in a separate section. Doblecaña (talk) 09:11, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Doblecaña: There is a policy, WP:TENANTS, which recommends not adding a tenant list. However, it only applies to malls. I guess only encyclopedic and referenced entries need to be included in the building articles. Second Av Subway Information
I'm having issues with this one guy who keeps reverting my edits even though I'm providing sourceful information and links, but nonetheless, let's worry about that later. Take a look at the (W) line page, on the top it says that when the (W) is going to come back, it will replace the (Q)'s current service pattern. I did the same thing on the (Q) line page, but just swapped it to say that the (Q) will terminate at 57 St - 7 Av temp when the (W) returns until the Second Av Subway opens. VisualEditor News #1—2016

Since the last newsletter, the VisualEditor Team has fixed many bugs. Their workboard is available in Phabricator. Their current priorities are improving support for Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Indic, and Han scripts, and improving the single edit tab interface.
Recent changes
You can switch from the wikitext editor to the visual editor after you start editing. This function is available to nearly all editors at most wikis except the Wiktionaries and Wikisources.
Many local feedback pages for the visual editor have been redirected to mw:VisualEditor/Feedback.
You can now re-arrange columns and rows in tables, as well as copying a row, column or any other selection of cells and pasting it in a new location.
The formula editor has two options: you can choose "Quick edit" to see and change only the LaTeX code, or "Edit" to use the full tool. The full tool offers immediate preview and an extensive list of symbols.
Future changes
The single edit tab project will combine the "Edit" and "Edit source" tabs into a single "Edit" tab. This is similar to the system already used on the mobile website. (T102398) Initially, the "Edit" tab will open whichever editing environment you used last time. Your last editing choice will be stored as an account preference for logged-in editors, and as a cookie for logged-out users. Logged-in editors will have these options in the Editing tab of Special:Preferences:
- Remember my last editor,
- Always give me the visual editor if possible,
- Always give me the source editor, and
- Show me both editor tabs. (This is the state for people using the visual editor now.)
The visual editor uses the same search engine as Special:Search to find links and files. This search will get better at detecting typos and spelling mistakes soon. These improvements to search will appear in the visual editor as well.
The visual editor will be offered to all editors at most "Phase 6" Wikipedias during the next few months. The developers would like to know how well the visual editor works in your language. They particularly want to know whether typing in your language feels natural in the visual editor. Please post your comments and the language(s) that you tested at the feedback thread on mediawiki.org. This will affect the following languages: Japanese, Korean, Urdu, Persian, Arabic, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Thai, Aramaic and others.

- Please try out the newest version of the single edit tab on test2.wikipedia.org. You may need to restore the default preferences (at the bottom of test2wiki:Special:Preferences) to see the initial prompt for options. Were you able to find a preference setting that will work for your own editing? Did you see the large preferences dialog box when you started editing an article there?
