Welcome
[edit]Hi Ependell! Welcome to Wikipedia. I'm one of the Online Ambassadors for the Language Development course, so I just wanted to quickly say hello and let you know that I'm around. I'll try and keep an eye on how things are going as best I can, but if you need any help this semester feel free to send me an email at any time via http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:EmailUser/Bilby or my talk page - I won't always be able to get back to you straight away (we're in very different time zones), but I'll respond asap.
Anyway, in case you are interested in the pages we normally recommend, you might want to have a look at:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
Let me know if I can help in any way, or you can write a question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question so that others can know that it is here. - Bilby (talk) 04:40, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Hey
[edit]Thanks for the welcome! I can't wait to start using Wikipedia and I am glad that there is someone who can help me if I need it. Ependell (talk) 22:24, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia My name is Jim, and I edit here with the username of "Cullen328". I've been contributing to Wikipedia for 2-1/2 years now. I am an Online Ambassador, and I have offered to help students in the class you are in, Language Development. Please feel free to ask me any questions at all about editing Wikipedia.
There are many helpful resources available for new Wikipedia editors. One that I like is WP:PRIMER, which is a one-stop introduction intended to help newcomers to better understand the basics of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The best advice that I can give you to learn how to be a good Wikipedia editor is to actually edit articles, edit talk pages and edit your own user pages. Add high quality references to articles, improve the accuracy and improve the prose, and everyone here will sing your praises. Feel free to visit my user page and my talk page, and feel free to ask any question at any time. Thank you.

Hi Emily
[edit]I am writing on your page just to say hi and to say that I love that you wrote about Harry Potter on your user page. I love the books, but the movies are pretty amazing too. I hope you are enjoying the class as much as I am and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Bmbrooks (talk) 20:41, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Language acquisition
[edit]Hi! I just wanted to stop by and say that your first edits on Language acquisition were nicely done - small changes, but you improved the text. One small suggestion would be to include "copyedit" or something similar in your edit summaries, although as you have tagged them correctly as minor this isn't a major problem. You'll get the hang of it, but given how much activity there is on Wikipedia, even a short edit summary can make it easier for people to know what is happening. Anyway, you seem to be the first person in your course to start editing, and it was good to see. :) - Bilby (talk) 13:26, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia Presentation
[edit]Hey Ependell. Sorry for getting back so late but I'd love to speak at your presentation. Are you going to have a powerpoint? Should I contribute slides or just talk? Thanks! Semccraw (talk) 13:51, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge
