Wikipedia "cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material", even if you specify which paper you took each image from. We can't just raid academic papers to get illustrations for articles. You needed to be able to show that the images in question had been released into the public domain or under a relevant creative commons licence.
