Hi ®amos,

In regards to the "Live City" Articles for creation page that you reviewed, you left a note that Beatport was not a verifiable source. Beatport is not social media, it is a music distribution service exactly like iTunes. Is iTunes a verifiable source? It is essentially the same thing, just a different distributor. Everything on Beatport is distributed through a record label, just like iTunes, so it doesn't get more accurate than that.

I can post articles for each song, the only reason I did not was because Beatport is completely Objective while a news source can be Subjective, as much as we believe they are not : )

So in short, are these Beatport links accepted and if not can iTunes links in exchange be accepted and if not would article review/write ups be accepted?

Thank you!

  • (side note)Yeah, I shouldn't be reviewing articles half-asleep on finals week. Nonetheless, The issue I have is that the beatport links you listed are just the songs. If you can find a single source that lists ALL of the artists' works (or the least amount of sources that list their songs), that would be better. I also want to note that all but 2 of your soundcloud links are dead (the only available ones were references #9 & 35). The goal is to look for more articles that can independently report on the history of the band, not just the songs they released. (And to boot, I'm liking their music, thanks for turning me onto them!) The other issue I have is notability. Although I think this group is notable enough (having multiple major label releases which would satisfy 1 requirement of WP:NMG), I think the Wikipedia community would like to see at least one more requirement satisfied before posting.

My Suggestion: fix some of the references, and try to find a couple more that are about the group itself. Then throw it back on the Articles for Creation circuit. It's close, just not there yet. ®amos likes messages! 17:42, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
